felix did not sleep much after his nightmare had occurred. he mainly laid there beside changbin, restless in his mind, but he kept still in order to not disturb the latter.
felix watched the time tick by on the clock at a painfully slow place. once the clock finally read seven in the morning, felix rose out of bed and carefully made his way downstairs.
once he made it to his kitchen, he saw his grandmother with her nurse already preparing breakfast.
"mimi?" felix questioned as he rubbed his eyes to clear the blurriness lack of sleep left him with.
"yongbok, what are you doing awake?" his grandmother asked him.
"ah i guess i got into a better sleep schedule from being in the hospital. i went to sleep early last night." felix shrugged, ignoring the fact that in reality he was severely exhausted.
"then explain why you were screaming last night... nightmares are back?" his grandmother asked, and the nurse beside her gave felix a disappointed look for lying to them.
"yeah, but changbin helped me fall back to sleep, i'm fine!" felix tried to assure her, and it was somewhat true. felix was able to get small intervals of sleep, but he never fell into a deep sleep after his nightmare.
"i'm glad you have changbin to help you then." she smiled as she mixed some powder and milk together.
"what are you making?" felix asked curiously as he rested his chin on her shoulder to peak over at the food she was mixing.
"i figured i could make you boys some pancakes for whenever you got up. is that okay?" she asked sweetly.
"of course, thanks mimi." felix kissed her on the cheek and gave her a tight hug to thank her for the breakfast.

"since you're up, want to help me?" she asked and felix of course agreed more than willingly.
"great!" she cheered, "grab the fruit from the fridge for me please."
felix worked by her side to prepare a nice breakfast for all of them. they planned on leaving changbin to sleep and just reheating everything when he woke up, but much to their surprise, he woke up just a few minutes before everything was done.
changbin laid in bed searching for the warmth of felixs small frame, but instead he only found a mess of sheets beside him.
changbin slowly picked up his head and let it sink in that he was sitting in felixs bed alone. once he felt he was awake enough to move, he peeled himself out from underneath the warm blankets and made his way down stairs.
"binnie's awake!" felix cheered, making his grandmother and nurse chae instinctively coo at how excited he was.
"how long have you been awake, prince?" changbin asked, the pet name making felix blush a deep shade of pink.
"uh... n-not long..." felix stuttered out, hoping his grandmother and her nurse didn't hear changbin.
"prince?" felixs grandmother smiled as she cut her way into their conversation.
"i hate you." felix mouthed to changbin who just laughed it off.
"are you two back together?" nurse chae questioned with a smile.
"n-no... we're not." felix shook his head as he rushed back over to his grandmothers side and assisted her in setting the table for breakfast.
as she was bringing over the plates, changbin noticed her starting to shake. his instincts kicked in and he immediately rushed to her side, taking the plates from her hands and catching her with his free arm as she collapsed.

"MIMI!" felix shouted as he quickly rushed over to help changbin.
"what's wrong with her?" changbin asked nurse chae who had the boys carefully rest her on the floor while she examined felixs grandmother.
"im fine..." felixs grandmother said weakly.
"why don't you boys go eat upstairs and your grandmother and i will figure this all out, okay?" nurse chae suggested, knowing felix shouldn't be in the room any longer.
"but-"
"please yongbok, i think it's best i rest alone." felixs grandmother pleaded, and due to the begging look in her eyes, felix obliged.
"let's go changbin," felix grabbed a plate of good and had changbin do the same before he led the boy back up into his room.
"do you think she's going to be okay?" felix asked changbin as they sat on his bedroom floor and munched away on pancakes and berries.
"your grandma seems very strong, i'm sure everything will be fine." changbin was lying though.
he recalled what she had asked of him back when felix was in the hospital, and he knew her time was quickly coming to an end.
changbin just didn't have the heart to tell that to felix.
"you're lying to me." felix shook his head, "it's okay though... i would lie to me too if i were you."
"what?" changbin was baffled by felixs response, not that he really though he was an excellent liar in that moment.
"i know she's sick, i know she's dying. thanks for trying though... i'm sorry for even asking that when i know the real answer." felix shook his head, shoveling more and more food into his mouth.
"don't apologize," changbin said as he grabbed the boys hand to stop him from over packing his mouth with food, "and slow down... if you don't, you'll choke. one bite at a time."
changbin took the fork from felixs hand and began feeding him small bites of the pancake slowly and one at a time. felix felt the red hue grow on his face, but he didn't care. he loved the way changbin made him felt.
"thank you," felix smiled with a mouth full of food, "berries please." once felix swallowed the bite of the pancake, he opened his mouth for some fruit.
"you're too much bokkie," changbin laughed as he grabbed a strawberry and plopped it into felixs mouth.
"but you love me anyway!" felix chimed happily as he grinned from ear to ear.
"you're right, i do." changbin went to put a blueberry in felixs mouth as he said this, but as he went to pull away, felixs teeth sunk into his skin.
"ow lix!" changbin winced in pain at first but then quickly turned it into laughter.
"whoops," felix giggled, "maybe you shouldn't admit you love me while your fingers are dangling by my face. you surprised me!"
"you were the one who- ah forget it." changbin rolled his eyes, eating a playful hit to the shoulder from felix.
"just eat your pancake now." felix huffed jokingly as he began feeding himself, allowing changbin to eat now too.
"alright prince, whatever you say."

8 80Curious Tales: Assorted Fantastical Fiction
These are a collection of my short stories which don't feature gender bending front and center but do involve horrors, fantastical delights, and weird surprises. They may involve something as simple as a house on a swamp overlooking the dreams of the past or a byzantine battle between time travelers for what they see as the "right" timeline. And be as shiver-inducing as being locked in a school at night with disembodied shadows or as sweet as an old stuffed animal with a special secret.
8 125The Queen of The Forest
Tales of Heros who can control the void, master magic, and kick-ass are everywhere, but where are the tales about the cute dogs who were forced to endure? Who were forced to change? Forced to become feral, wild beasts? This is the tale of a queen of beasts, The Queen of The Forest! Artemis, only days before, was relaxing in her home living a peaceful life as a dog. A life that should never end. But, life is never easy and it didn't change for her. An unfortunate accident and a couple of flashes of light later and her life has turned upside down. In a void of black and unable to see anything, to feel anything, to taste or to hear or to smell, she was scared and confused, but the warmth all around her was comforting. Now, all she was able to do was think. She thought about what happened to get her here. How long she will have to stay. Where she even was. Though she had thousands of questions floating in her head, nothing was certain for her. As a goal for myself, I'm going to try to release a chapter every two days. That does not mean I will only work on the book once every two days. I am always working on the book, thinking of a more interesting story for me to tell and for you to read. Saying all that, I hope you follow along Artemis' adventure, reborn into another world! Please rate, comment, favorite, and most importantly ENJOY!

Our story began on the frozen tundra, where barbarians roamed over thousands of years after the first landing of Bok. They were hearty warriors that valued strength and honor above anything else.
