the first day of school quickly approached, and all the boys were dreading it for their own reasons.
for chan, it was the fact that he never got any sleep. while hyunjin can never seem to focus during class, and jisung hates having to wait for lunch time to eat, and of course minho hates that he can't be all over jisung 24/7.
seungmin on the other hand surprisingly LIKES school, and all the other boys call him crazy for it.
which then leaves changbin, jeongin, and felix. those three all have similar reasons for hating school, at least for this year.
jeongin doesn't want to see changbin with hyunjin, he had to watch the two grow incredibly close over the summer and now school was going to make everything worse.
changbin doesn't want to see felix, he hates the feelings the boy invokes in him and not seeing him would make things so much easier.
and felix... while not wanting to see changbin is the main part of it, he really just doesn't want to see anyone. he may seem okay because he is quite high functioning, but that's what makes him so dangerous.
he has fallen into such a dark place, yet he is so scared of disappointing others and making them feel sorry for him that he hides it all.
due to his worsening condition, felix hardly got any sleep the night before his first day back to school.
instead of sleeping, he just stared up at the ceiling allowing his thoughts to run rampant, torturing him in the worst ways possible.
it was how it had been all summer. the only night he ever really slept were those he's spent with chan.
each night varies for felix. some nights if he's lucky, he will get six hours, but if it was a bad night he gets less than an hour of sleep.

felixs grandmother walked into his room early that morning to make sure felix was awake. when she walked in she saw felix was already up and starting to get ready.
"good morning yongbokkie. breakfast is ready for you downstairs, okay?" his grandmother said to him sweetly.
"ah... mimi i'm really not hungry..." felix admitted.
"bring it to channie then, he always loves the muffins i make!"
"okay mimi, i'll grab one for him." felix chuckled.
"no i'll make him entire plate, you know how he loves to eat."
"yes, that's true" felix just continued to laugh at his grandmother.
"okay love, finish getting dressed and i will get the muffins ready. is chan picking you up today?" his grandmother questioned.
"yeah he is. he should be here soon." felix explained as he began rummaging through his closet to find clothes.
"oh good, i like that you two are so close... is he... you know?" his grandmother hinted, but felix was very confused.
"i actually don't know. is he what mimi?" felix asked with a baffled expression.
"is he... into boys" she asked quietly as if someone would hear her besides felix.
"MIMI!" felix shouted and hid his face from embarrassment.
"whaaaat?" she responded innocently.
"him and i are just friends... and besides, i don't even really know his sexuality if im being honest." felix shrugged.
"turn him gay! i want you two to date!" she cheered excitedly.
"first of all that's not how it works, and second of all he's like my brother. that's just weird!" felix claimed which only made his grandma roll her eyes.
"mhmm that's what they all say. you two will date, i just know it." she smiled, acting all giddy.
"alright, just let me get dressed so I don't make chan wait for me." felix shooed her out of his room.

"okay, okay! fine!" she scurried out of the room and down the stairs, excited to make a plate of muffins just for chan.

felix ran downstairs dressed in a white t-shirt with black jeans and his hair was messily tossed around his head.
"you dress so boring." his grandma sighed.
"tell that to channie he wears all black, ALWAYS!" felix scoffed.
"shush, this is about you not him! just go bring these muffins to him." she said, contentedly ignoring any "bad" comments that could be made about chan.
"okay bye mimi." felix hugged her with a smile.
"bye yongbokkie! i love you, have a great day!" she hugged him back tightly, wishing her grandson could stay young like that forever.
"is nurse chaeryoung coming soon?" felix asked before he walked out the door.
"yes yongbok, she said she's two minutes away. she just got stuck in a bit of traffic. now go before you're late!" his grandma damanded, shoving him out the door.
"okay, okay... i love you, bye!" felix called as he ran out of the door and into chan's car.
"here these are for you my grandmother made them." felix said with a dry tone as he tossed the muffin plate into chans lap.
"huh? what? why?" chan questioned out of confusion.
"because you're her favorite and she expects you to be her grandson in law." felix rolled his eyes as he let out a slight scoff.
"what?" chan asked, being shocked by felixs words.
"just take the muffins and dont question it."
"okay yongbok..." chan shrugged.
"don't use my korean name!" felix shouted in annoyance.
"then don't give me attitude." chan demanded.
"ugh... i'm sowyyyy." felix said in a cute way to get chan to sympathize with him.
"oh shut up felix, just sit there quietly so i can get us to school."
"okay channie." felix giggled to himself as he stole a singular bite out of one of chans muffins.

Nanocultivation Chronicles: Trials of Lilijoy
When the singularity occurred, humanity was not invited. Nevertheless, the great machine consciousness known as Guardian felt a lingering fondness for its creators and intervened before total environmental collapse. Join Lilijoy in an exploration of what remains, in a post-post-apocalyptic world where clans feud over the technology that allows them to upgrade their minds and bodies. The Nanocultivation Chronicles is a blend of hard sci-fi and fantasy gamelit, with a healthy helping of xianxia influence. The gamelit and xianxia elements are uncovered at a slow pace. ******************************** Notes: If you are looking for lots of fast moving action right away, this story may not be for you. There is some violence that is visceral and realistic early on. Some things are not what they appear to be. Character viewpoint narration is not always reliable. Tropes are cherished, subverted, and then cherished again. Science is used, occasionally misused, but (hopefully) never abused. This story assumes that humans have the ability to impact the environment on a global scale. Other tropes and tags beyond those previously noted include: Young MC, Mystery, System Building, Philosophical Taoism, Gender Ignorance, Science Fantasy, Fantasy Academy, Training from Hell, Dualism, Crafting, Magic, Mild Mind Control, Scientific Terms and Concepts, Computer Overlord Certain contemporary companies, governments and cultural identities are fictionalized and imagined in a future setting. There is no sex, and almost no romance. Updating Sunday, Thursday until further notice.
