the boys enjoyed their cheesecake in a comfortable silence. they had small conversations here and there, but they had reached a point where each other's presence was enough to fill the space between them.
once they finished, minho checked the time and noticed they needed to leave to get to the airport.
"are you ready to go?" minho asked jisung who was staring down at his empty plate, trying to keep his tears at bay.
"mhm." jisung hummed, standing up, but continuing to keep his head down.
"ji, it's okay to be sad." minho said as he placed his arm around jisung's shoulders.
jisung shook his head no, and bit down hard on his lip. he was so desperately trying to hold back his tears.
"jisung," minho spoke again, but jisung still refused to look at him, "ji!"
minho got in jisung's face, cupping each cheek with his hands. minho stared down at jisung's lips which were practically raw and beginning to bleed.
minho dragged his thumb down on jisung's lips, getting the boy to release it from in between his teeth. minho then locked eyes with jisung before placing a gentle kiss on the latter's lips.
"don't hurt yourself jisung, you don't need to hide anything from me." with these soft words leaving minho's lips, jisung allowed the gates in his eyes to open, and the tears began to flood down his cheeks.
jisung wept silently into minho's chest, hiccuping every so often from how hard he was crying. they walked out of the cafe like this, and minho made sure to protect jisung from prying eyes.
minho rubbed jisung's back soothingly, and held him in his arms for just a moment longer as they stood outside his car.
jisung gripped onto minho for dear life, never wanting to leave the boy's side... better yet, he never wanted to get out of the latter's embrace. he felt safe in minho's arms, it was rare that jisung ever felt protected.

"i-i don't w-want t-to leave y-you." jisung cried out as he looked up at minho with his glossy eyes and tear stained cheeks.
minho felt his heart strings pull, and a frown spread onto his face. minho cupped jisung's cheeks once again, and wiped away the tear streams with his thumbs.
he placed a soft kiss to jisung's forehead, unable to find words that could possibly convey what he was feeling.
jisung knew minho loved him. he could practically feel the love radiate off of minho, but it wasn't enough.
nothing would ever be enough to fill the void jisung was about to feel once his feet touch malaysian soil and his father lets out his last breath.
"le-let's go." jisung said before quickly opening the car door and jumping into the passenger seat.
he curled into a ball and cried into his knees, wishing he could just disappear instead of having minho see him break down like that.
minho let out heavy sigh, feeling useless when it came to helping jisung. he walked around to the other side of the car and got into the driver's seat.
he took once look at jisung once he was in the car and felt his entire being break. jisung was his everything, and jisung was losing himself more and more each day.
minho placed one hand on the steering wheel, and the other on jisung's back. he tried his best to focus on his driving, but it was difficult when jisung was suffering right beside him.
minho had the radio to keep his thoughts drowned out, but he knew the same could not be said for jisung. jisung's thoughts were too powerful and too far gone. his thoughts tuned out the world instead of the other way around.
the drive felt longer than it should have, but simultaneously not long enough. now that the two arrived at the airport, it meant that shortly, they would be saying their goodbye's and that would be their final time seeing each other for awhile.

minho and jisung got out of the car, collecting jisung's bags in silence, and then walked into the airport without any words being spoken still.
jisung kept his head low, knowing his puffy eyes would catch the attention of many, and minho kept his eyes on jisung, only glancing up every once and awhile to make sure he wasn't going to run into anyone.
the two got to a point where minho could no longer go, and they knew their goodbye would start now.
"can we just stand right here... for just a little longer?" jisung asked softly as he shuffled closer to minho, wrapping his arms around the boys waist tightly.
"we can stand here for as long as you'd like kitten." minho responded, engulfing the latter into his arms.
"i don't want to say goodbye." jisung whined slightly as he continued to hold onto minho.
"i don't want to either ji."
the two stood in silence, hugging for just a little longer, before finally pulling apart and looking each other in the eyes.
"i do have to go though..." jisung sniffled.
"i know," minho nodded.
"one last kiss?" jisung asked cutely.
"of course my love." minho smiled before planting a sweet and soft kiss onto jisung's lips. jisung allowed the feeling of minho's lips against his coarse through him like electricity. he wanted that feeling to last forever, and prayed that this would not be the last time he'd experience it.
"bye minho, i love you." jisung said as minho began to pull away, but were still just a breath apart.
"i love you too, i'll see you soon." minho said with a sad voice. it was the first time all day minho let his act completely drop, and he finally revealed his pain to jisung.
minho tried to stay strong for jisung, but in those final moments, he found it impossible.
"text me, okay?" minho asked the boy, but jisung only nodded in return before going to leave minho.
minho then tugged on jisung's arm, not wanting that to be the way they say goodbye. he pulled jisung back into him and planted a final kiss onto the latter's lips.
he couldn't let a small peck be the final thing he felt. minho's kissed him slowly, yet passionately, not caring who dared to look at them.
in that moment, it truly felt they were the only two souls to walk that god forsaken planet. the world that only ever screwed them over, and tore them apart. but for that moment, there was no misfortune, there was only those two boys and the love they held for one another.
"goodbye jisung." minho said softly, his lips brushing against jisung's as he spoke.
"bye minho." jisung responded. the tears began to well in his eyes again, so before minho could see them, jisung ran off and into the area minho's was forbidden to enter.
minho watched as jisung's figure grew smaller and smaller with each step he took. he did this until he was too small to see, and got lost in the crowds of strangers that walked past him.
minho walked out of the airport feeling empty and alone. he knew he was being selfish for wanting to have jisung at his side still which is why he never asked jisung to stay. he knew jisung had to leave.
