You sigh as you pull up in front of Chris' LA home.

"This is a crazy idea. I don't even know why I agreed to do this."

"Because he's a hot eligible bachelor. That's why." Your sister says through the car phone. "He's Chris fucking Evans." You roll your eyes.

"That can't be a deciding factor."

"Well not the deciding factor but a deciding factor—look the guy didn't ask you to marry him. Just spend the day. Where are you now?"

"In his driveway..."

"You've been sitting in his driveway like a creep this entire time??"

"... not the whole time..."

"Go in the house! Now."

"Ugh. Fine. Bye." You hang up the phone and turn around to the backseat. You look at your daughter in the mirror attached to the middle seat. "Ready little one?" Your daughter babbles in response. "Alright. Let's go." You get out of the car, get your daughter and her diaper bag and walk up to the door. You ring the doorbell and there door flies open.

There stands Chris in a t-shirt, jeans and a smile.

"Hey." He says happily. "You made it! Come in. Come in." He steps aside and you walk in. You're immediately met by his fluffy dog, Dodger. "Alright Bubba calm down. Sorry about him."

"It's ok."

"I have some throw pillows on the floor over here." He leads you to the living room and you get comfortable on the floor. "A-are you hungry? Thirsty?"

"No. We're good. Thank you." You put your daughter on the carpet and she sits and looks at Chris. "That's Chris." You say to her. She looks at you. "Chris." You repeat. Chris comes over and sits down. "Her name is Amelia. Or Mimi."

"Hi Mimi." Chris says sweetly. Amelia hears her name and she smiles. "She's really beautiful Y/N."

"Thank you." You finger through her hair. You dig in the baby bag and take out some toys for her to play with.

"How did you like the movie?" Chris asks.

"It was amazing. Sad but amazing." Amelia picks up her stuffed dog and looks at it and looks back at Dodger. Her head tilts to the side and you and Chris can see that she's comparing the two. "Yeah sweetie. It's a dog. Like Dodger." She scratches the animal's head and then she scratches Dodger's head, which he really enjoyed. He presses his nose against her cheek and she giggles causing Chris's heart to flutter.

"I hope this isn't causing problems between you and your boyfriend."

"It's not. Technically we're not together." He looks at you.

"Wait what? Then why did—"

"I don't know." You fiddle with a toy car. "It just sounds better. Saying we're together. A family. But we haven't been together for about a month."

"Why did you break up?"

"It was a lot of things. Him not being around. Work. His mother wanted a DNA test."

"She what? Why?"

"She never liked me. She thought I got pregnant too fast."

"Did he do it?"

"Of course. Mommy knows best." Chris' nostrils flare with anger as he fights the urge to ball his fists. "I only did it to shut her mouth. But she still has doubts."

"Why?"

"Because it wasn't 100%. It was 99.9999%." He rolls his eyes. Amelia crawls over to Chris and hands him the dog. He looks down at her big brown eyes and takes the toy before woofing and tickling her making her laugh. Chris smiles to himself proudly knowing he made that tiny human laugh.

"Mama." Amelia says. She puts her hand to her mouth.

"Is someone hungry?"

"I have food." Chris says quickly. "I—Is she allergic to anything?" You shake your head. He quickly gets off the floor and races to the kitchen. He went to the store early this morning to get food he thought kids would like based off of his nieces and nephews. "Let's see I can make sandwiches, I have fruit, cheese sticks—" your head shoots in his direction.

"Cheese sticks? You have cheese sticks?"

"Yeah..."

"Amelia is obsessed with cheese. You give her some and she will love you forever." He grabs one from the fridge, cuts it into a bowl and sits back down. "You can give it to her."

"Amelia." She looks at him. "Would you like some cheese?" She looks at you and you nod in approval and then she nods. Chris puts the bowl down and Amelia reaches in and takes a piece. She puts it in her mouth and breaks into a smile, immediately recognizing the taste.

You and Chris make some PB&J sandwiches for lunch and watch a little tv, Disney movies of course, before Amelia gets sleepy. You lightly place her on the couch and wrap her in a blanket, leaving you and Chris to talk.

"So how's work?" You shrug.

"It's going. You know how it is." He nods.

"Is it hard with Amelia?"

"Sometimes. I have to be careful what roles I pick. Can't be too far for too long." You look over at your sleeping child. "But I wouldn't trade it for the world. I love being a mom." Chris watches you admire your child. He would love to be a parent too. He just hasn't found the right woman.

Until now.

You get ready to leave at about 6 but of course Amelia doesn't want to leave.

"It's okay sweetheart. Don't cry." You say as Chris helps you put Amelia and your bag in the car.

"Are you free tomorrow?" Chris asks with slight urgency.

"Yeah. I am. We can come back tomorrow."

"Or we can go to the park or something. Bring Dodge." You smile.

"That'd be okay. Let me get your number. We can figure someplace out." You and Chris happily exchange numbers. "Thank you again for today. We had a good time."

"Me too. So I'll see you tomorrow?"

"Tomorrow." You confirm. "Say see you tomorrow Chris." Mimi waves her little hand.

"See you tomorrow Amelia." Chris tickles her side and she laughs.

"Bye Chris."

"Bye Y/N." Chris makes sure you two make it out of the driveway before he goes inside and shuts the door. He leans against it as he runs through the day, not able to take the smile off of his face. He quickly grabs his phone and calls the number one woman in his life: his mom.

"Hi honey. How did it go today?" She asks on the other end.

"It was amazing Ma." He says. "Her daughter is great. We're hanging out tomorrow too with Dodger."

"It seems like you really like her."

"I really do. I—I want to ask her on a date but I'm nervous, ya know?"

"It's okay to be nervous Chris. It's natural. Just be yourself and it'll be fine."

"I will. Thanks Ma. I'll talk to you tomorrow. Love ya."

"Love you too. Have fun tomorrow." He hangs up the phone and gets himself ready for another big day tomorrow.
