August Walker x Reader
Sequel to Backup Plan
It's been a year and a half. It's been long, depressing and lonely since you got that call. You and your backup plan, Nick, have been hanging out. It's nice, but he's not August and you don't want him to be. You just want August.
"And who wants to take point on the Paris fashion show?" Your boss asks at the staff meeting.
Paris. The last place you want to go.
"Y/N?" Your boss questions. You silently shake your head. Your boss sighs. "Alright Monica. It's yours. That's all for today. Thank you." You collect your things and get ready to leave the room. "Y/N? May I speak to you for a moment?" You put your things back on the table. "How are you?"
"I'm fine."
"You're not fine. You won't travel to fashion shows anymore. You just want to sit behind your desk." She sighs. "I am really sorry about August, but you can't keep yourself cooped up like this."
"I'm not cooped up. I go out."
"Really? Where?"
"I go... to the grocery store... and to the nail salon..."
"I mean real places."
"Those are real places." Your boss raises her eyebrow and you sigh. "I appreciate your worry but I'm fine. Paris... was just someplace we went together and I can't go back there. Not right now."
"I understand. I just don't want you to miss out on great opportunities."
"I won't." She smiles and leaves you in the conference room. Your phone vibrates and you take it out of your pocket. "Hey Nick."
"Everything ok?"
"Yeah. My boss is just on my case about not traveling anywhere."
"I'm sorry." You sigh.

"It's ok."
"How about I take you out for an early dinner today after work?"
"You know I can never turn down food." He laughs.
"Great. I'll text you the place." The two of you say your goodbyes and you hang up.
~
You drop your keys on the counter after your night out with Nick. You go into the fridge to get some water when you hear a rustling sound in the back of the house.
"Hello? Who's there?" No one comes out. You go back to the water but you hear it again. You quickly go into the drawer of the kitchen island and pull out a gun. August kept a few around the house. "Come out whoever you are! I have a gun!" You hear footsteps and a man comes into view with his hands up.
"Y/N."
"Who are you and what are you doing in my house?"
"It's me, Y/N."
"Alright Me. Odd name, but I'll accept it for now." He chuckles.
"No Y/N, it's August."
"Bullshit. August is dead."
"It's really me."
"Prove it." You say, still holding the gun.
"Your middle name is Y/M/N."
"Public record. Next."
"You like your coffee light and sweet."
"Instagram."
"Your favorite pair of underwear is the lacy blue ones with the flower in the front."
"You were just in my bedroom. You could have snooped through my underwear."
"Your favorite foreplay is 50 Shades of Grey." You scoff.
"Yeah. Me and every other woman that's watched the movies." He sighs. "You're not doing a good job here dude."
"How's our backup plan?"
"What backup plan?"
"Nick. Is he treating you well?"
"How do you know about that?"

"I know everything about you. Just like I know that you like your pancakes extra fluffy. You don't like when things are so quiet, you can hear people chew. You hate the Titanic, but you love Die Hard. When we make love, you like it slow and tender, but after 50 Shades, you like it hard with lots of toys. I know it's really good when you grab the headboard."
"Keep going..."
"We met in London and we first said I love you to each other in Paris. The day I left, you were wearing my light pink button up with a lacy white thong."
"Ah ha! That's wrong! I was wearing the black one."
"No you weren't. The black one was in the trash because I tore it off you the night before." You think about it.
"Damn it." He's right. You threw a fit because you really liked that pair.
"I called you while I was away. I didn't have time to talk long and when that happens, I say 'Doubt thou the stars are fire. Doubt that the sun doth move. Doubt truth to be a liar. But—"
"But never doubt I love." You finish.
"Hamlet Act 2 Scene 2 lines 115-119." You put the gun on the island in amazement.
"Auggie?" He nods and you rush into his arms and he hugs you tightly. You pull away and you look into his eyes. Those are his eyes. The eyes that you woke up next to everyday, the eyes that brought you comfort and made you feel safe. "You're alive? But they told me—"
"I know, I know. It was a helicopter accident... and a hook." You look at his face and it's disfigured. That's why you didn't recognize him initially. "I wasn't sure if I should come back."
"What? Why?"
"My face."
"I don't care about your face. I still love your face."
"I'm black listed. I'm a Rogue Agent."
"What? Erica didn't tell me that." August explains everything to you. "Oh."
"So if I resurface, if they find me... I'll go to jail for life."
"Then they just can't find you." August looks at you.
"I'm a bad man Y/N."
"You've never done anything bad to me."
"Y/N..."
"No. August Walker is dead. Dead and gone. And no one looks for a dead man."
"No. I can't drag you into this."
"You already did by showing up here."
"We'll be on the run." You shrug.
"It's a hell of a lot faster than walking." You take his hands. "I lost you once. I'm not doing it again. We're in this together."
"Once you say yes, there's no turning back." You press your lips to his.
"I'm saying yes." August smiles.
"Alright. Let's do this." The two of you go to the bedroom and begin to pack.
"Why did you come back?" You ask. "You could have run far, far away but you came back."
"Because I love you Y/N. That's why I came back. Because you're my home."
