《Cinder x Male Reader: Volume 2》The wedding

Well, it's been a few years so, where to pick up? How about where we left off.
Mom was ruling Vacuo with her tribe, and some even joined her. Crime rates were very low, but if you did commit a crime, you would be punished, usually very harshly. Resistances would spur at some points, but were always put down very quickly and all the members were publicly executed. Aside from political things, our relationship was great. We obviously couldn't do things like when I was a kid but, she still felt like she made up for missing some of my childhood.
Adam took charge of Mistral and ruled it with other Faunas. He never allowed any humans into the army, which we scolded him for, and still hated most humans, but had a healthy relationship with us. The white fang was no longer a rebellion or cause for peace, but a dominion.
Sapphire and Mercury ruled Atlas after we overpowered their military, rather easily. They were much more... forgiving, then the rest of us. The two of them were actually about to get married. Although Cinder and I always thought Mercury would be with Emerald, we were happy for them.
Hazel was always kind of the enforcer of the group. Whenever we needed a huntsman tracked and killed, he would be there. He felt like he owed us for helping him take down Ozpin, avenging his sister.
Watts was more of the mechanic. He would make weapons for us, machines, and other things. He stopped being a smartass to Cinder, for obvious reasons.
Yang and Dad "visited" Mom and me. Yang probably would've tried to kill me but knew I was too powerful. She and dad just wanted to talk about our kingdoms and the way we're treating people. Ultimately, we didn't listen to them. Yang said she hated us, and that she wishes I was never born, you know... the usual.
Qrow is more of the peaceful one. He hasn't tried to attack us, or provoke us. He even tried to join Sapphire but, she didn't trust him.
As for me and Cinder, I controlled Vale, while she was the leader of all of us. I ruled Vale with discipline and control. Cinder was perfectly fine with it, and even carried out executions sometimes. She even got a group of doctors and surgeons to repair her face and eye, and she no longer had the Grimm arm.
So in short, some people joined us and became soldiers. Others tried to revolt at first but were quickly silenced.
Now back to the present.
I just woke up with Cinder beside me, barely clothed. I stood up and walked to the window and looked out to see the landscape. The walls around my house, the guards constantly patrolling, and the sun barely rising. Today was the day of Mercury and Sapphire's wedding. Cinder is supposed to be the maid of honor, and me as the best man. I never really liked weddings but, they're my friends and I need to go.

I looked back to see Cinder waking up. I walked over and sat on the edge of the bed, and slowly and gently caressed her face. She smiled at this action and slowly opened her eyes.
"Good morning" I said smiling. She sat up and stretched, yawning a bit.
"Good morning" she said.
"Come on, we need to get ready for the wedding" I said pecking her on the lips, then standing up.
"Ugh, do they have to be this early?" She asked groaning.
"No, it just takes a while to prepare for it all" I said going into the closet, picking out my black suit and tie, and began to put it on.
".... fine" she said pulling the covers off of her, and coming into the closet and putting on her silky black dress.
I was fixing my tie while looking into the mirror while Cinder was brushing her hair.
"Hey, babe" I said as she looked at me through her mirror. "Have you heard about any resistances lately?" I asked.
"No, not that I remember. Why?" She asked.
"That's just It, I haven't either. It seems too quiet" I said putting on my suit jacket. "Usually a few people revolt every few weeks but, now it's been two months and nothing" I said walking over to her.
"Maybe they finally learned their place" she said getting up and kissing my cheek. "You're worrying too much honey" she said as we walked out of the door, and into the hallway.
"Yeah, you're probably right" I said as we exited the house, and got in our limousine.
Timeskip
As Cinder and I entered the church, we went our separate ways, her with the rest of the bridesmaids, and I with the groomsmen.
I opened the door to where I saw Mercury, and Watts. Mercury was extremely nervous, panicking over how his tie looked as Arthur was trying to calm him down.
"Arthur, how about this? Does this look fine?" Mercury fidgeted as he held up a few ties.
"It looks fine, boy. If you don't stop panicking you'll ruin Sapphire's day and your's" He said looking through a magazine. I shut the door, making a noise to which attracted both of their attention.
"Oh thank god you're here Y/N" he exclaimed running over to me.
"Why is that?" I asked as he pulled out three ties.
"Blue, Black, or Grey?" He asked showing all three of them to me.
"Black, it matches with your suit" I said calmly.
"Ahh thanks man, you're right" he said throwing the others aside and trying to put on the tie.
I walked over to where Arthur laid on the sofa and began to talk to him.
"So, any news?" I asked as I already told him of my concerns about it being too quiet.
"No, nothing. None of my spies could find anything. You're worrying over nothing here" He said as I began to believe that maybe I was paranoid.

"Okay. Hey, where's Hazel?" I asked and as if on cue, Hazel opened the door.
"Sorry I'm late, had to do some security measures" he said shutting the door.
"Yeah yeah, man. It's fine" Mercury said looking at himself in the mirror. I sighed at seeing his completely messed up tie.
"Mercury your tie isn't correct" I said as he looked at me with annoyance.
"O-Oh right" He said fiddling with it. He began to mess it up even more.
"Dude, do you know how?" I asked walking over to him.
"O-Of course I do!" He said, lying.
I sighed deeply and fixed it for him.
We heard the church bell ringing as it signaled it was time for the wedding.
Timeskip.
The three of us stood on the stage, all three with black suits and our hands behind our backs.
Cinder, Emerald, and Mom stood on the other side as we all looked to where Sapphire would come down the isle. There were a lot of people from the kingdoms there. Mercury still seemed very nervous as almost anyone would be.
After a while we heard the music playing. Everyone in the isles stood up and looked towards Sapphire and smiled.
Sapphire made her way to the stage slowly, and was wearing your typical wedding dress.
She eventually reached the stage with Mercury and took his hand in hers.
The preacher said his peace about love, and commitment. Honestly I wasn't paying attention, I was looking around because I had a bad feeling. Like somethings gonna happen.
"Do you Mercury Black, Take Sapphire Branwen to be your lawfully wedded wife, to hold and to protect, to care for and to love, in sickness and in health, in good times and in bad?" He asked
"I-I do" he said still sweating bullets.
"Sapphire Branwen, do you take Mercury Black to be your lawfully wedded husband, to hold and protect and hold, to" The priest started but was cut off by Sapphire.
"Yeah yeah, get on with it" She said eagerly making everyone laugh.
"As you wish. The ring please?" He said as a kid that one of Raven's tribesmen knew.
"Thank you young man" he said as Mercury took the ring and put it on Sapphire's finger, as he was shaking.
"Now, by the power invested in me I hereby pronounce you Husband and Wife. You may kiss the bride" he said as Mercury pulled Sapphire into a kiss and everyone clapped.
All of us sat at a round table and were drinking and telling stories, making jokes, and other things.
See, I told you nothing to be worried about" I said patting Mercury's back. He looked at me antagonized. I sat across from him and Cinder across from Sapphire.
"Easy for you to say, you haven't done this before" he said with Sapphire sitting in the chair beside him.
"Yeah well" I said drinking a bit from the wine glass.
"I think it went splendid, boy." Arthur said as he too drank some wine.
"Yeah, I've got to say, this is the best day of my life" He said leaning back.
"Your day will get even better tonight~" Sapphire said teasingly as he still blushed a bit. Even though they're married he still got embarrassed at actions like these from Sapphire.
"Hey, I'll be right back, I've got use the restroom" I said standing up.
As I walked over to the bathroom I felt a bit of vibration on the floor.
"What?" I asked as I soon heard glass shatter.
The guards equipped their weapons only to be shot down.
"GET DOWN" I yelled at Cinder and company.
A bunch of People in hoods and dark clothes jumped in through the windows. They started throwing knives at me and the rest of us. Hazel ran and took out the few that jumped threw the front windows, while Emerald used her illusions to distract the sniper fire.
I ran to Cinder and slid down to where she was crouched behind the table.
"Okay, I spotted a few of them outside near the parking lot. I'm gonna get them while you guys handle the ones in front" I said as she nodded.
I ran outside to the parking lot and saw a few people shooting with assault rifles, that were destroyed the glass windows.
I charged them immediately, as I felt someone shoot me but my aura blocked its impact.
I made quick work of each of the shooters and flanked the ones out front. Once we regrouped we had the advantage.
There were a lot but not enough of them. They had taken out all of our guards and, seeing that as enough, they retreated.
"LONG LIVE LIGHTNING" we heard one yell, then retreat to the hills.
I walked back to where Sapphire and the rest were and saw Mom crying.
"Mom, what's wrong" I asked. "No one was hurt, we're fine." I said but she soon pointed to the ring bearer that was just a child, dead from a sniper shot.
I couldn't believe they would do that. Us I understand but an innocent child?
"Search the bodies, maybe we'll find something" I said angry.
We searched each body accordingly and it seems Mercury found something.
"Guys! You might want to look at this" he said suspiciously. We saw a note with orders to attack sapphire.
It was signed by someone named Lightning.
"Who's Lightning?" I asked as Raven's eyes widened.
"She-Shes the summer maiden"

Pawns of God
Five Lines PitchJoin Mark in his fight against a God and change the game's destiny! Delve into a slow-paced story focused on the progression of the main party and the development of the world. Mark himself will be narrating his life inside the game, and to a much lesser extend outside. Guild building, economy, and strategy are the central pieces of the novel. Mark is not overpowered, he will have to build his own power through action-packed battles, trials, traumas, love, and death. Accompany him, the healer and the strategist, an agent of chaos, in the adventure of his life. Without further preamble, I will let Mark take the mic. SynopsisHi! My name is Mark. This is my story, my life as I live it day after day. I’m in my thirties, and there’s nothing I love more than playing online games. I’ve just joined the action on the newest VRMMO game, Pawns of God. An immersive experience you can play while sleeping. Of course, as a game that takes pride in its long development and technological advances, everything inside seems and feels real. Beware, this is not a game-turns-real story. I love my own world and I would detest being summoned into another one. If that ever happens, I’ll just quickly take my life and be done with it. I play with my friends, in a party of 5. We have taken several roles, but lately, I've come to love being a healer. It's my secret ambition to someday be the shotcaller. I am not overpowered. If there is any bug or exploit in the game, they are yet to be discovered. Anyhow, for a game of this scale, the company is pouring all of its resources into test servers, QA, and beta tests. I don’t expect to find any, so I’ll be playing the game just like any other person. I must say, though, I am easily distracted, as you will immediately notice once you start. I'm working on it, I promise to improve! I am no hero. Being in my 30s, my heart is too old for this shit. I wouldn’t mind being one, of course. Who hasn’t dreamt of it? Either way, I’m not doing any grand quest to save the world. Whatever the game throws to their users, I’ll be there to experience it. Most of my life, at least the interesting parts that I’ll be narrating, happen inside the game itself. Rarely, there will be some IRL (In Real Life) chapters. You’ll understand, however, that as a freelance software developer, there is not much I can entertain you with when outside the game. Did I say I love games? Well, I’m also a fan of LitRPG literature. You know, journeys of magic, relationships, personal development, items, skills, discovery… In the spirit of not overwhelming my public, I’ll condense each chapter into circa 1500 words. You might have noticed some tags over this story, let me elaborate. I like to swear. I’m not shy when it comes to cursing my enemies, friends, or even myself. When there’s blood, I tell it as I see it. And… it hurts to admit it, but I’m not a casanova. Of course, this doesn’t mean that I won’t ever find love. So, in case I do end up finding it, let’s keep my sexual options open. As for traumas, none yet, but the future is vast and unknown. Release Schedule The schedule is subject to change, particularly if enough readers end up loving it. All chapters are already written, thus there is enough freedom to modify them.
