'He won't stop texting me,' Jade said to her girls as they walked through the hallway of the hospital.

'Kyle?' Jesy asked.

'No, Hughie,' Jade joked. Jesy shot her a look. 'Of course, Kyle! I mean, he doesn't remember what happened during the spell, but he still didn't do anything when Eliza was attacked, so I'm not going to do anything now. I'm not replying. See how he likes to be ignored.'

'Good girl,' Leigh-Anne said, patting her on the back. 'I know it's hard but you don't have to talk to him if you don't want to.'

The girls walked into a quiet ward. Eliza lay in the bed near the window.

'I'm so glad she woke up when she was supposed to,' Perrie said, keeping her voice low so nobody other than the girls could hear her. 'She was so reluctant to come forward during the spell, but I think with all of us here, she'll name those who attacked her and they can go to jail.'

Perrie walked to the bed first, taking slow movements to make sure she didn't overwhelm Eliza straight away.

Eliza moved her head on the pillow to look at the people approaching. She smiled when she saw who they were. 'Perrie! Jade, Jesy, Leigh-Anne. I wasn't expecting visitors.'

'Of course we would visit you! You've been through something so traumatic, but just know that we are here for you, every single step of the way.'

'Thank you so much,' Eliza said, her eyes filling with tears. 'I felt so lonely before the attack, like I had no one. It warms my heart to think I have support now.'

'We all needed to change,' Leigh-Anne said as she took a seat. 'A lot of people liked to turn blind eyes, including us sometimes, but like Perrie said, we are here, one-hundred percent.'

'Is there anything you need?' Jade asked, sitting on the bottom of the bed. Jesy leaned on the window.

'I'm alright,' Eliza said. She didn't sound convincing.

'Are you ready to tell the police about who attacked you?' Jesy asked, trying to sound as sensitive as she could. 'Whoever it was is still out there and could hurt someone else.'

Eliza looked sad, moving her eyes slowly to Perrie. 'I do have something to tell you, and you're not going to like it.'

Perrie held Eliza's hands. 'I know it was Blaine.'

Eliza looked confused. 'What? How do you...'

'Let's just say we found out a lot in the past week. I've made my peace with Blaine. I thought I was in love with him, but I think I was just in love with the idea of being in love.'

Eliza continued, 'but still, how do you know?'

The girls looked at each other, debating whether or not to tell her about the magic book and the spell they cast. To normal people, they thought it would make them sound crazy. Jade eventually caved, and they started to relay the alternate story that happened after the girls cast Black Magic, and before they broke the spell.

'It sounds insane,' Jesy laughed to ease the tension. 'But it's true. Your attackers got locked up in the end, but they're still out there now because we reversed the spell, which is our fault.'

'And while we do have all the information, it's also not our place to come forward for you,' Leigh-Anne told her. 'You have to be comfortable with telling the police yourself. We will be here, of course, but we can't do anything you don't want to do.'

'I understand,' Eliza said after she appeared to be gazing into space for the longest time. 'This might sound weird to you guys, but I actually had a dream that you guys were witches. But you were good witches and you helped people.'

'We are still helping people,' Perrie said. 'But instead of casting spells, we're singing songs. That is our magic.'

'I want to speak to the police, I do,' Eliza said, sitting up. She strained a little. 'But can I have you guys with me?'

Jade's phone beeped. She quickly turned it on silent. 'Of course you can, we will be right here,' Jade said, diverting the attention from her disruptive phone.

'Okay,' Eliza said, and allowed the girls to fetch the policemen from the hall. Once Eliza told them everything, the police put down their notepads.

'Thank you for the statement, but of course, you have just woken up from a coma,' the female officer said. 'While we will investigate this further, you may still be delirious from the sleep.'

'You can't be serious!' Jesy almost shouted. She noticed the looks she got were not favourable and apologised for the outburst.

'We may need something more to make this a reliable case,' the other officer said.

Just then, a voice came from behind them. 'Maybe I can help with that.'

Jade recognised the voice instantly and turned around. 'Kyle?!'

He nodded. 'I have some things to make right,' he told her with a genuine smile. Jade's emotions blew apart. She didn't know how to feel at that moment. She felt she had already buried their relationship, and while Kyle could not remember what had happened before the spell broke, some strong feelings lingered in his heart.

After a brief silence, Jade said 'thank you' through restrained tears.

At school the next day, Jade and Jesy stopped by their lockers. Already there was a sense of change in the air.

'I,for one, am very proud of Kyle,' Jesy told Jade. 'Without his statement, the police wouldn't have had that crucial witness to put Blaine, Alicia and Phil behind bars. I hope they rot.'

'They have to stand trial and that first,' Jade said. 'Who knows what will happen there. Maybe Alicia will cast some kind of spell to get out.'

'Better bloody not!' Jesy said a little high-pitched. 'If they do, we might have to put on our cloaks and black hats on again to sort them out.'

Jade laughed, and before she could speak, Hughie walked up to them. 'Jesy, can I have a word?'

Jesy looked at him, noticing Rachael was down the hallway, looking up at them with a wary eye. That meant she had no clue what he was doing with Jesy.

'What is it?' Jesy asked as Jade occupied herself with her locker.

'I have been feeling a little strange lately, having some thoughts,' he said, looking down at the floor. For some reason he couldn't make eye contact with her. 'I'm a little confused but I think I know how I feel.'

Jesy felt her heart race. 'Okay,' she said. 'You can say whatever you need to, I won't judge.'

'It's hard for me, because I was so set in a way with how I'm meant to act in this school, obviously I have a label to uphold, you know, the popular jock.'

'You don't have to label yourself Hughie, or assume that being a popular jock means you have to treat people like shit.'

'True,' Hughie said. 'That's the thing, I thought it meant that I couldn't hang with people seen as less popular, and that's the way a lot of people see things here.'

Very faintly, they could hear Jade singing 'no, no, no, no! Stick to the stuff you know, it is better by far...' She looked at them when she realised she was singing externally instead of internally. She mouthed the word sorry and returned to sorting the books in her locker.

'Anyway,' he continued, 'I have these feelings for you that I've had for a long, long time, but I never wanted to actually say them out loud because I was scared to be judged.'

Jesy loved a man who was honest about his feelings. She wanted to know more so that she wouldn't jump the gun. 'What kind of feelings are you talking about?'

'Jesy,' he said, now looking her directly in the eyes. 'I love you, and I feel like I always have.'

Jesy almost fell over; the rate of her heartbeat pumped so much blood around her body so quickly that she felt light-headed. Hughie noticed how white she had become from shock, and held her before she could fall to the floor.

As soon as he touched her, she felt her dizziness fade. 'Are you serious?'

'Yes,' he said with a definite tone.

'I thought I would need to cast a love spell to make you fall in love with me.'

'You don't need to cast any spells; I'm already in love with you,' he said, and then leaned in for their first true public kiss. Jade 'aww'ed in the background, and wiped a tear from her eye.

Down the hall, Leigh-Anne walked around the corner to see the happy couple. She also noticed Rachael a few feet away from her, and she slammed her locker shut and was about to storm over to them.

Leigh-Anne stopped her. 'Rachael, can I ask something?'

Rachael spun around. Leigh-Anne could see the anger rising in the red of her face. 'What is it, Pinnock?'

'Is it okay if I come to the cheerleading show next month? I would like to support my school's team.'

Rachael pulled a face. 'What?!'

'I just think it would be nice if myself and a few other people from the school came to cheer you on, don't you think?'

'Get lost,' Rachael said, totally confused about their exchange. It made her forget about Hughie and Jesy for a moment, and while she did not admit it, the small show of kindness from Leigh-Anne touched her heart. Leigh-Anne knew that it would, and through just a look, she promised she would keep trying to soften her so that she would never bully again.

Once Rachael walked away, Leigh-Anne turned to see Gary walk towards her. Every single time she saw him, she became happy all over again. She never wanted to feel like she had lost him again.

Before he could reach her, he accidentally bumped into a guy. After recovering, they both apologised nervously, then carried on their way.

'Why didn't you say something to him?' Leigh-Anne said.

'I said sorry,' Gary told her.

'I know but,' Leigh-Anne watched the guy turn the corner. 'He's into you.'

'What?!' Gary said, trying to catch a glimpse of the guy before he disappeared from sight. 'How the hell do you know?'

'Oh, it's obvious! I mean, come on you know how rubbish my gay-dar is, but he turned to look at you when you walked towards me. He was hoping you would look back. And I know he is gay because he broke up with his boyfriend months ago.'

'He was cute, and I'm sure he's in my Geography class,' he said a little distantly as he tried to recollect memories of him.

'It would be nice to tie you down with someone, a guy this time,' Leigh-Anne said jokingly. Gary looked at her confused, but she brushed off the inside joke. 'Do you want me to set something up?'

'Seriously?' Gary asked. She could tell he was scared.

'I could see the chemistry from that one single interaction,' she told him. 'He would be so lucky to have you. You mean a lot to me and I want to make sure you're happy, always.'

Gary smiled. 'I appreciate that.' They hugged. 'But do that later, don't you have some Mixers business to attend to.'

'Yes!' Leigh-Anne said, almost forgetting. 'I need to gather the girls.'

In the auditorium, Leigh-Anne gathered Perrie, Jade and Jesy on the stage. It was just the four of them.

'We've gone viral,' Leigh-Anne told them.

'What?' The others said in unison.

'I got a message from a girl from another school. They're starting the same kind of thing, and if we can get other schools to do it, we could have an international network of support so that every single student can feel they can get through anything. Look!'

Leigh-Anne opened the message from her Facebook.

'If the Mixers, the Harmonizers, and every single society out there can join forces - we would be unstoppable. There's absolutely no need for hate if we can spread the messages of friendship and love - we really could change the world.'

'That is incredible', Perrie said, re-reading the message. 'It sounds like a change is already happening.'

'I could not be more proud of you girls,' Jesy told them. 'Just look at what we have achieved. We have come so far, and we didn't even need to cast a spell for this to happen. We just needed to be brave enough to stand up and use our voices.'

► 'We didn't let the haters keep us down,' Jade said. 'It's what our mams taught us, isn't it?'

'Mama told me not to waste my life, she said spread your wings my little butterfly...'

The girls embraced.

'These wings are going to fly.'
