Jesy stormed down the hallway, wiping tears from her eyes that were smudging her beautifully-lined mascara. She swore she saw Perrie up ahead, turning a corner towards the exit as she was audibly talking on the phone with Blaine. She didn't want to follow her - just looking at her made her angry. How dare she want to ruin her engagement.

The phone in her pocket started to vibrate. It was Hughie. She picked it up gladly; he was the only person who was making her happy.

'Hi love,' he said on the other end. Just hearing his voice filled Jesy with so much hope and positivity.

'Hi,' Jesy tried to say, but broke down in tears.

'Hey, hey, what's wrong?' Hughie asked, his voice laced with concern.

She took a moment to re-adjust herself. 'I've just had a fight with my friends; they've really upset me.'

Hughie started to shush her to calm her down. 'Where are you, I'll come get you? You don't need to be in any kind of toxic environment.'

'I'm still in the school, I can meet you in the car park?'

'Okay, I'm heading straight there.'

'Hughie...' Jesy started.

'Yes?'

She hesitated, but she had to ask following the conversation with the girls. 'You have no idea what happened to Eliza, do you?'

'Eliza? No, I don't even know what actually happened. Why?'

Jesy felt relief wash over her. His voice was genuine - not only because of the spell, but because of how she felt about him. She believed him. 'No reason. See you in five minutes.'

'See you then, after all, we have a wedding to plan, and I'm thinking the sooner the better!'

Leigh-Anne re-applied her make-up in the girls' bathroom mirror. The first thing she wanted to do whenever she felt pain was phone her girls. It tore even deeper that she couldn't even do that.

She heard a toilet flush, and Rachael Parker appeared from the cubicle. She looked at Leigh-Anne with disgust.

'Having fun, are we?' She asked as she stood at the sink next to Leigh-Anne.

'What do you mean?' Leigh-Anne asked as she strained to keep her game-face on.

'The little cliques and clans you're forming in school. Does it make you feel powerful?'

'That's not...'

Rachael interjected and looked directly at Leigh-Anne now, instead of through their reflections. 'Cut this shit, Pinnock. I don't know what the hell you girls did to this school but it seriously seems like everybody is under some kind of spell.'

Leigh-Anne gulped.

Rachael continued, 'well not me. Whatever it is you girls did, I will get to the bottom of it. What do you think you would achieve?'

'Things are getting better now. People are finally standing up to the likes of you.'

'Things are better now? You mean how you're manipulating everybody in this school to follow you? Do you know what that is called, Pinnock? Bullying. Isn't that what you're against? You're bullying everyone in this school to be your little follower to achieve your ends. It's selfish, and I will make things right again.'

Rachael gave Leigh-Anne one last soul-piercing look before spinning on her heel and exiting the bathroom. She left Leigh-Anne in a state of shock. She wasn't alone for long when she heard a knock on the door.

Gary walked in. 'Hey.'

Leigh-Anne appeared shocked. 'Hey - how did you know I was in here?'

'I heard Rachael on the phone as she walked past saying how she just schooled Leigh-Anne, and I saw what direction she was coming from. You okay?'

'I'm fine,' Leigh-Anne said. 'You're not supposed to be in here,' she said with a laugh.

Gary wrapped her in his arms. 'I don't pay attention to labels, they should have a gender-neutral bathroom. I hate that schools try to separate guys and girls like they should be divided, when really we should be united.'

'Yeah,' Leigh-Anne said with a heavy heart. The word 'divided' stuck out to her - that's exactly what she felt. 'You really know how to speak to my soul, Gary.'

'I feel like I can say anything when I'm around you, Leigh-Anne.'

She pulled away and looked him directly in the eyes. She could see some pain hiding behind them. 'What's wrong?' she asked.

'Nothing.'

'Come on,' Leigh-Anne probed. 'You said you could tell me anything, and you can tell me anything. Is there something bothering you?'

Gary diverted his eyes away from hers. He sighed, and finally said 'I've been having those thoughts again.'

He didn't need to be explicit - she knew exactly what kind of thoughts he had been having. Not only could she see his physical scars, but she could feel his emotional scars too.

'Let's talk about it, but not here. Let's go back to my house and talk in the garden.'

Jade kissed Kyle as soon as he was in arm's reach. The solace she found in his warm hug was enough to keep her suspended in his essence for longer than she initially intended.

'Did you enjoy meeting my family?' Kyle asked her as soon as they parted. They walked down a high street lined with deserted shops. Jade had lost track of time since leaving the girls at the school.

'I did, they were a very interesting bunch,' Jade told him. She pondered whether or not to expose his pervy uncle, but decided against it. 'I appreciate being a part of that dinner, thank you for inviting me.'

'I'm sorry I didn't think of it straight away, but I'm so glad you were there. I never want to do anything like that without you ever again.'

'Thank you, I feel the same way. But I do have to ask you something; it's been bothering me.'

Kyle slowed to a stop. 'Sure, ask me anything. No secrets between us.'

'Exactly,' Jade said with a nervous laugh. 'Okay, erm, don't be offended, but I just want to ask - did you have anything to do with Eliza's attack?'

Kyle seemed to hesitate. 'No, I didn't.'

Jade noticed this. 'Oh my god, you did, didn't you?' It felt as though her insides had obliterated, her heart sunk into the pits of her stomach. She tried to turn away but Kyle stopped her.

'No,' he desperately pleaded. 'I promise you, I didn't have anything to do with it!'

'Then why did you hesitate?'

Kyle sighed. 'I didn't attack Eliza, but I saw it happen.'

Jade gasped. 'You saw it happen and you didn't do anything to stop it? You didn't tell the police who did it?'

She could see Kyle's eyes fill with water. 'I was scared,' he said. 'I couldn't snitch, or I would have ended up in the hospital like her.'

'Seeing a crime happen and doing nothing about it is worse than committing the crime,' Jade spat. She slipped out of his grasp and ran away from him. She could hear him follow her down the street, but after she turned several corners and plunged down empty alleyways, his footsteps faded away.

She was finally alone - and she hated it. She didn't have Kyle, she didn't have her girls. And yet still she felt unnaturally drawn to Kyle, like he cast his own spell that made her crave him still.

Perrie crept into Leigh-Anne's room. She realised she didn't have to due to Leigh-Anne not being there, but still she felt her heart pound in her chest.

She cast her mind back to the night they cast the spell, and tried to remember where Leigh-Anne hid the book. Perrie first looked under the bed, but after seeing nothing there, she turned to the drawers.

A feeling of guilt crept over her for invading Leigh-Anne's privacy, but she desperately needed the book. After a minute of searching, she felt something hard in Leigh-Anne's bottom drawer. Finally - oh, wait, no, that's not the book. Perrie slid it back in place and looked away embarrassed.

Then, she saw it. It wasn't hiding anywhere, it was in plain sight! Next to the mirror on the other side of the room sat the spell book. Perrie ran to it, and as she picked it up, she heard the front door open.

Perrie froze. Voices were becoming loud and more distinguished - it was Leigh-Anne and Gary.

'You can head straight to the garden,' Leigh-Anne told Gary as her heels echoed on the stairs. Perrie freaked and dived for the bed. She fell to her knees and slid under it. As she pulled in her legs, Leigh-Anne walked in.

Without looking around the room, Leigh-Anne headed straight for her en-suite. She closed the door and locked it. Not wanting to waste any more time, Perrie rolled out from under the bed and ran out of the bedroom.

She looked down the stairs before she ran down them to make sure Gary wasn't there. When the coast seemed clear, she started to run down them with one hand on the banister and the other firmly on the book. Her own heels echoed, so she had to slow down.

When she heard the upstairs toilet flush, Perrie legged it out of the house. She softly closed the front door and ran down the front garden. Once she passed the gate and entered the street, she came to a stop and rested her hands on her knees as she panted.

'Are you alright dear?' An old lady asked while walking her dog. Perrie looked up at her.

'Oh, I'm fine, thank you,' she replied, and once she caught her breath, she made her way around the corner. She had parked her parents' car in one of the concealed alleyways to ensure that nobody would see her come into the neighbourhood. But she needed the book.

► For a moment, she almost forgot where she parked; her concealed spot really was a good place to hide the car. Finally she found it and unlocked the car doors with the push of a button. It beeped as she slid into the driver seat.

She angrily started the car up and drove out from the alleyway in aggression. The sun was coming down and the street lamps were starting to turn on as she passed them. Barely anybody was out in the streets now it was getting dark, which worked in Perrie's favour since Blaine sat tied up in the front seat, struggling against the ropes that bound him.

'Does he tell you he loves you when you least expect it? Does he flutter your heart when he kisses your neck?...'

Perrie brought the car to an unexpected stop. The pair inside almost suffered whiplash, and Blaine looked at Perrie with a guttural fear in his eyes.

She looked back at him with nothing but rage and disgust in hers. 'You think it's okay to hurt people? The tables have turned, Blaine... now it's your turn to hurt.'

Perrie flipped open the book, landing on a page that caused her to widen her eyes in glee. It was the perfect spell to make him pay for what he's done.
