Perrie walked out of the bathroom. She tried so hard to keep her face and posture as relaxed and sexy as she could - but she felt herself tense up as soon as her eyes fell on Blaine.

'Wow,' he told her as she strolled in with a cheeky wink. 'But why have you put more clothes on and not taken more clothes off?'

Perrie tried to laugh it off but it came off a little false. 'I'm sorry to break it to you but that was my mam on the phone and she's on her way home. We're gonna have to break this up.'

Blaine punched the pillow. It scared Perrie for a moment, but then he looked up and smiled at her. 'As long as we're not breaking up, I don't care if we don't get to do this tonight.'

A sigh of relief escaped Perrie's mouth before she had a chance to stop it. Worried that he noticed, she ran over to him. 'Definitely not! I hate that you'll have to leave now, but you'll see me tomorrow at school.'

'Fancy a spot of breakfast before school?' Blaine asked.

Perrie couldn't say no. 'Yeah, sure, that sounds fab.' They kissed, and it lasted longer than Perrie wanted it to. She pulled away and noticed his confused expression, so she went in for a couple more pecks before finally pulling away. 'Okay, get your sexy arse out of my bed and get some clothes on.'

Blaine did as she said, and he confessed that her sense of authority turned him on. Perrie played along before shooing him down the stairs and out of the house. She made sure he was completely gone from sight before she shot back up the stairs and launched at her phone.

She had no idea what the girls were doing so she didn't want to call them and interrupt whatever plans they had - but she worried that if Blaine played a part in Eliza's beating, then maybe Hughie, Kyle and even Gary could have also been involved.

A group message would have to do.

Perrie waited and waited for a response. It frustrated her to not know what the girls were doing, and she felt sick with the thought of them being their men if they were also involved in Eliza's attack.

She could barely sleep that night.

'Don't go to that breakfast!' Jade told Perrie on the phone the next morning. She hadn't seen the text in the group chat as she stayed at Kyle's, and they fell asleep relatively early. She almost slept in that morning after forgetting to put on an alarm.

Perrie's voice sounded rough, and she never stopped yawning. 'I'm on my way there, he already had me on the phone earlier. I can't shoot him down now, I'm worried about what he could do, what he's capable of.'

'All the more reason not to go,' Jade said. 'Did Eliza say why she hasn't spoken to the police yet about her attackers?'

'No clue,' Perrie confessed. 'I'm honestly so relieved she's okay, but the Blaine thing has got me so down. We need to meet up ASAP. We need to break the spell.'

After the night Jade had with Kyle, the idea of breaking the spell again came as a bit of a blow. Knowing Perrie was in a state, she thought it best not to feed the subject. 'We will talk more about it at school. Keep me informed and call me at the first sign of trouble, you hear? Always stay in public; never be alone with him.'

'Thanks Jade, I feel a lot calmer after talking to you. I'll see you at school.'

'Bye.'

Jade put the phone down. She was already at school having promised the Drag Queens society that she would join in their morning meeting so they could talk about their joint anti-bullying venture. Jade sympathised a lot with the incredible people she met in the society for the prejudices they faced every single day.

The school board was accepting of the ways they wanted to dress and look; the people in the school, not so much.

'It's Jade!' William said as Jade walked through the door. She smiled at him as she closed the door of the classroom behind her.

'How dare you have make-up on that somehow upstages mine,' Jade told him as she sat in one of the available seats. So many had turned up for the meeting. She looked around at all the men who dressed the way they wanted to. 'I can't help but think of how brave you all are knowing that the people at this school are some of the most judgmental kids out there, and still you proudly show them exactly who you are anyway.'

'A few of us never used to,' a boy near her said. Jade didn't recognise him at first, but his face revealed him to be Andrew. Andrew always wore the tightest jeans and T-shirts to school, and Jade always appreciated his bulging arms. But today he wore a skirt, a wig, and had delicately decorated his face with the most subtle of make-up. 'It wasn't until yesterday, after the meeting in the auditorium, that I felt brave enough to dress like a girl today.'

Jade couldn't help but feel like a proud mama bear. She took in all the faces around her; a lot of them came dressed in drag, but some were still too shy and remained in their boy clothes.

'Me too,' another guy spoke up. 'I didn't want anyone to think I'm gay because I like to dress in girls' clothes, but now I don't care if they think that. I know I'm straight, and the opinions of others isn't going to affect me. Not today Satan!'

Jade laughed and agreed. 'Exactly, you really don't need the approval of others. Do what makes you happy. I cannot tell you all the amount of progress we have made already. The support in this room overwhelms me. But you know what? The support is going to be out there too. The kind kids in this school outweigh the bullies. We are totally here for each other, and we are not afraid to be who we are.'

'I'm still a little worried,' William said from beside her. His voice came out of nowhere, small and timid in a room full of big personalities.

Jade looked at him. 'Why are you worried?'

'I know everyone here is going to be there for me out there,' William began, and the entire room nodded their approval, 'but I still worry that people are going to treat me differently, and look at me differently. I'm really scared of the judgment. I know who I am and I am proud of myself for coming today with my true identity clearly written on my face - but I don't think I'm worthy to call myself a drag queen. I'm not pretty - as a man or a woman.'

► 'Stop it, that's not true! Pretty's just another word in the dictionary. I'm never going to be the full definition of the word pretty either, but it's something you should feel, not see. You can't judge someone by the shape of their face, but the shape of their heart. Pretty really is just a pretty word.'

Jade took his hand and turned her face to the room.

'Mama, mama, mama made me the way I am - my face, my eyes. Someone turn me up, I'm speaking my mind...'

'Just do you,' Jade continued, never letting go of William's hand. 'If it wasn't scary, it wouldn't mean so much to you. I have your back.'

'We all do,' Andrew said. 'A few of us have the same classes, so we'll do this together. Jade, did Leigh-Anne set up the Facebook group for the anti-bullying society?'

'She did, and she's going to send the invite to everyone in the school. That might take some time, there's a lot of people involved now.'

'Is she inviting the bullies?' Another person asked.

'While a lot of the change that will happen is from ourselves and how we stick together, we also need them to change. Hopefully by reaching out to the bullies, they'll see that we are all just people and we all have different stories. We're all just trying to survive.'

'Do you think they'll join?'

Jade pondered the question for a moment. 'They may ridicule it, and try to torment us more than before, but I believe everyone - even bullies - deserve a chance. Don't you?'

The room was torn, but couldn't help but agree with Jade. She wasn't sure whether it was to do with the spell, or if her words actually meant something to them. While she felt proud of their progress and the inspiration she seemed to give them, a part of her deflated at the thought that she had just tricked everyone instead.

Jade's phone buzzed. She looked at the screen, seeing Perrie Edwards appear as an incoming call. 'I'm so sorry, I have to take this. But just know that I believe in all of you and I want us all to check in later, okay?'

Everyone agreed and cheered her as she left the room. She picked up the phone. 'Are you safe?'

'Yes, of course I am. I think the spell cancels out any anger issues he has. Like, there'll be a flash of anger in his face when I say something he disagrees with, but it passes so quickly and he's like a dog in heat straight after.'

'Leigh-Anne and Jesy are nearly at the school, should we meet. If we're late for registration, that's fine.'

'Yes, we really, really need to talk.'

Leigh-Anne and Jesy smothered Perrie in a hug as soon as they arrived at the empty classroom. Jade and Perrie were already sitting on the desks.

'We need to visit Eliza and find out what's going on,' Jesy suggested as soon as they broke from the group hug. 'She hasn't called me to say Hughie was involved, and honestly I don't think he was. He's really, really not like that.'

'Same with Gary,' Leigh-Anne said. 'He's seriously not the guy to do something so disgusting.'

Perrie put her legs up on the table and rested her elbows on them and supported her head in her hands. 'I thought the same about Blaine. I'm so confused.'

Jade rubbed Perrie's back. 'We are going to sort this out, don't worry too much about it.'

'We need to break the spell,' Perrie told them matter-of-factly. 'There is no way I want him fawning for me when I can't even look at him, knowing what I know now...' Perrie trailed off, her voice breaking.

Jesy appeared startled. 'Not this again. We are not breaking the spell. I don't want to sound harsh but only good things have come from the spell. Won't breaking it turn Blaine back into the violent pig he was before?'

'Didn't you say the spell stops him from having outbursts?' Jade asked, looking for a way to calm Perrie down. 'Maybe the spell is protecting you?'

'But he's madly in love with me and he won't leave me alone! I don't want to see him at all.'

'I do agree that you need to get as far away from Blaine as possible,' Leigh-Anne started. 'I don't like the thought of him touching you. But I'm also scared of what breaking the spell will do. Will it undo the good work we have done with the societies for the anti-bullying?'

'Will the guys we drugged with love potion remember we did that, and get the police on us?' Jesy asked rhetorically.

Jade appeared conflicted. 'The guys in the Drag Queens society have made incredible progress and it's because of us. Everyone is benefitting right now, I don't think we should break it. Maybe we could try and rework it so that Blaine falls out of love with Perrie?'

'The spell is joint; if we break one, we break them all,' Leigh-Anne informed them. 'Not just the love part of it, but the perception part of it too. That inspiration we have given the bullied could be for naught.'

Perrie stood up. 'Is nobody going to help me?'

The others remained silent, looking at each other with pained expressions.

'Of course we are,' Jesy finally said. 'It's just... we need to find another way.'

'The woman from the magic shop is right,' Perrie spat. 'The spell has changed all of you. There was a time I thought you all had my back. Now I don't even know who to trust anymore.'

Perrie stormed for the door. Leigh-Anne tried to stop her. 'Don't be like that, Perrie, that's not what's going on here!'

'Find someone who will believe that,' Perrie shouted back at her, then left the room.

Jesy shook her head. 'Wow.'

'Don't start,' Jade told her. 'She's upset, leave her alone.'

'I haven't done anything!' Jesy defended herself. 'But I see what's going on. Just because I'm happy now, everyone else wants to jeopardise it because I'm too ugly to deserve it.'

'Jesy, you're not ugly and that's not the case,' Leigh-Anne said in the defence of Jade.

'Tag team the one who can't stand up for herself, that's fine,' Jesy said. 'I'm sick of you all dragging me down and looking down your nose at me since Hughie and I got engaged. Just don't bother talking to me until you learn to respect that I love him and he loves me.'

Jesy stormed out, leaving Leigh-Anne and Jade. They both felt unnatural anger grow inside of them, snowballing out of control.

'I'm going to leave before I say something I'm going to regret,' Leigh-Anne told Jade, then left her on her own. Jade continued to watch the door long after she left, running her hands through her hair.

She had never been this annoyed with the girls before. She never wanted to see them again.
