The day of Blaine's party was a nightmare for the girls. During the day, Leigh-Anne had to gather some supplies for the epic sleepover they were going to have that night, including a stock-pile of sweets and ingredients to make the tastiest cocktails. Her heart reached out to Perrie, who sulked over her split, and she knew that her sleepover would either make or break the Christmas holiday that was fast approaching.
She did not want Perrie's, or the girls' Christmas holiday to be ruined by boys.
Jesy offered to accompany Leigh-Anne, knowing most shops were going to be jam-packed with everyone buying presents.
'I think we just need mint leaves and that's it,' Leigh-Anne told Jesy, reading from an extensive shopping list. Jesy's eyes flashed up and down the shelves of their busy aisle.
'And we definitely have the Thornton's chocolate selection box?' Jesy asked.
'Definitely. My uncle always gets me it for Christmas so my family opens the gifts from our relatives as soon as they leave the house,' Leigh-Anne answered. Her trolley was now extremely heavy and it took a lot of upper-body strength to stop it from bumping into the trolleys of other people.
'And have you spoken to Jade at all today?'
'Not really, she's been very quiet since yesterday. She always puts on a brave face though.'
Jesy agreed. 'We are going to have to dig deep tonight. We are going to put everything out on the table so that we can face our last week at school before Christmas and then enjoy ourselves over New Year's.'
'I couldn't agree more,' Leigh-Anne said.
Once the girls got everything they needed, Jesy helped Leigh-Anne take all of the shopping home on the bus before leaving for her own house to get sorted. There was only 4 hours to go and Leigh-Anne had a lot to prepare.
Her parents left for the night, allowing her to crank up a little Spice Girls and Fifth Harmony as she danced through the house. She picked up any laundry from the floor and sorted glasses and entertainment for the night.

She soon realised she still had plenty of time before the sleepover, and in her boredom, she started to scroll through her Instagram feed. Before long, she came across several people in her class getting ready for Blaine's party.
Leigh-Anne sighed, noticing how pretty all the girls looked and how handsome the boys looked. Then she came across a photo that Gary had put on 17 minutes before. She had tried texting him earlier that day to apologise for what happened in the library, but it was to no avail. Seeing him in his latest selfie stirred oppressed feelings.
He was wearing a tight black V-neck top, showing off his defined collarbone, all the while holding up a small pug. Her heart melted into her hands as she pondered double-tapping on the screen to like it. His beautiful eyes glittered perfectly with the dog's, and that was it for her.
She liked it. The rate of her heart elevated to a phenomenal level that shook her hands, causing her to put her phone down while she tried to recover.
► But it was too late; she felt sick with worry.
She picked the phone back up and scrolled through her contacts, coming to her girls, and like a reflex, dialled them all and added them to a conference call.
Major SOS and she knew her girls would rush over early.
'I call my girls 'cause I got a problem, only a curl is gonna solve it...'
'Girls. We shouldn't have ordered five large pizzas...' Perrie said as she tried to roll onto her stomach from the bed. The girls all lay there groaning, sweating, after demolishing the pizzas they ordered and dancing around the house trying to burn it all off.
'Bad idea,' Jade said. 'Very bad idea.'
Leigh-Anne burped, then pulled a disgusted face. 'Oh my God I can still taste it, it's like I brought it back up.'
'Don't move,' Jesy told Perrie. 'Let's just lie here for a bit. If anyone else moves I might throw up.'
Jade clapped her hands. 'Well done for what we just did girls. I'm really proud of us.'
Perrie lay her head back down on top of Leigh-Anne's hair. Nobody said anything until they could all control their breathing.
'So the emergency Leigh-Anne,' Jesy began, managing to roll onto her stomach. The other girls did the same, refusing to leave the bed. 'What was all that about?'
Leigh-Anne felt herself deflate slightly with the question as she remembered Gary's Instagram post. 'Have you guys seen it?' She asked as she pulled out her phone and showed them. 'I feel bad enough that I came across as vain and selfish yesterday, and I'm reminded of what a good guy he is.'

'And he's damn hot too,' Jade observed. 'Any guy who takes a photo like that with a dog is automatically hot.'
'And it's okay to fall for a gay guy,' Jesy said, though Leigh-Anne could tell she was trying to suppress a laugh. 'He's very attractive, hell, even I fancy him a bit. You'd have to be a lesbian to not fancy him.'
'I don't know how I'm going to fix this,' Leigh-Anne said, looking away.
'We have a week left at school, try and confront him somehow and clear the air, it's the only way,' Perrie said with a comforting hand on her shoulder.
Leigh-Anne's Instagram feed refreshed. The top post was of someone in their class at Blaine's house - Perrie could tell from the pool in the back yard. Leigh-Anne quickly closed the app.
'And the party looks terrible from what I've seen,' Leigh-Anne told Perrie. 'Seriously, I'd rather spend my Saturday night with you guys.'
'And I brought something anyway,' Perrie said as she rolled off the bed. The other girls looked at her with intrigue.
'Is it one of those sex toys you found under your parents' bed?' Jesy asked.
'Definitely not,' Perrie said in disgust. 'No, this.'
She pulled out the book they found in the library. 'You stole that?!' Jade yelled.
'I didn't steal it!' Perrie defended. 'It doesn't belong in the library anyway.'
'I did think about it last night when I went to bed,' Jesy admitted, her eyes firmly on the book. Perrie sat back down on the bed and put it in the middle of them. 'Have you read any of it?'
'I have, it's crazy. It's a spell book.'
'Like a witchy spell book?' Jade asked.
'Yes!'
'Anything good in there?' Leigh-Anne put her hand on it as Perrie opened it to the first page. 'Black Magic... that doesn't sound like something we should read.'
Jesy scoffed. 'It's not like it's real. We can have some fun with this, like that time we played light as a feather, stiff as a board. It didn't work but it was hilarious to try it.'
'There is one spell I think we should try, at least, just for fun...' Perrie suggested, looking at her girls for a reaction to see if they thought she was crazy. Their expressions didn't change - they were interested, though a little cautious.
'Well what is it?' Jade asked.
Perrie flicked through until she got to a double-page spread she had the bookmark ribbon on. The paper in the book was aged and loud when flicked through, and the font on the page in front of them was beautiful but written in ancient calligraphy.
'Can you read that?' said Leigh-Anne.
'I can, it's not too hard when you look really hard,' Perrie answered. 'It's a love spell.'
'A love spell? Do you think we're that desperate?' Jesy said.
'It's not just that,' Perrie said in defence. 'It's for people who aren't appreciated by those they love, and it will help change their perception of us. It won't change them, per se, more that it will change us.'
'Change us?' Jade looked concerned.
'It will give us more confidence and self-empowerment. We really need this guys. And hey, it's fake right? It won't work, but it would be fun to try it.'
The other girls looked at each other. Jesy bit her lip, before she said 'okay, what's the spell? Do we say it together?'
'Not so fast, we need to grab a bunch of ingredients. It's not just a spell, but a potion. We have to drink it, and so do the boys.'
'What if it's poisonous?!' Jade asked.
'We won't actually drink it unless we think it's safe, of course,' Perrie said.
Leigh-Anne looked down the page. 'What are the ingredients, we may have them in the house.'
Perrie turned the book around so she could see the page in full.
'Okay, well we have red wine in the fridge, and I'm sure there's some honey in the cabinet, and there are roses in the garden. Everything else, I don't have it, sorry.'
'We can get most of this stuff in a supermarket though - the apple, catnip, cinnamon...' Jade said, but trailed off when she realised not all of the ingredients they could get in a local shop.
'Where can we get a crystal ball from? Or blessed coriander... blessed by who?' Perrie pondered.
Jesy smiled. 'I think I know exactly where we can get them from. There's a freaky little Wiccan shop near where I live. It's hidden under a bridge and I only walk by there when I'm late for school - it's really out of the way.'
'Are you suggesting we go to a shop like that at this hour?' Leigh-Anne asked.
Jesy nodded. 'Indeed. Come on, we can do this: get the ingredients, make the potion, cast the spell. It will be so much fun, and even if it doesn't work, it will get our minds off the party and the guys that have screwed us over. What do you guys say?'
The other girls looked at each other, shrugged, and in unison said: 'we're in'.
