《JJBA X Reader》jotaro: bet

Setting: SDC era except there was no mission to find DIO, you're 17.
Content: Angst, fluff
We do Jotaro so dirty in this one, sorry girlies 😭
"Isn't it about time you get a boyfriend, Y/N?" BF/N asks you.
You look at them with a confused look, "Why? I've never wanted one in the first place."
BF/N explains enthusiastically, "Well, maybe that's why you should get one! To try it! And if it doesn't work out, then it was worth a try. Trust me, Y/N, it's nice to have a best friend and a lover in one!"
"Please, BF/N. If I wanted a boyfriend, I would have one right now." you boast.
They look at you with an unconvinced expression, "Um, I don't think so. You're too socially awkward to even talk to a guy."
You scoff, "Okay, that's not true."
BF/N thinks about something and gives you a smug smirk, "If you really think you can have any guy you want, then make Jotaro Kujo fall in love with you."
Your eyes widen and your mouth drops open, "That's literally impossible. Give me someone else."
"Nope!" BF/N insists, "You said you can pull anyone."
You glare at them, "What do I get if I win?"
"My manga collection," BF/N bets, "I want yours when you lose."
"When I lose?" you ask, "I won't, then."
Getting the delinquent thats gynophobic (girl phobia) seemed like mission impossible. But a bet is a bet, and you really wanted BF/N's manga collection.
You had to admit, Jotaro Kujo was really attractive. He could get any girl he wants without trying. All he would have to do is yell at them or even look in their direction.
You need a plan. Obviously he wouldn't even pay attention to you if you followed him everywhere, professing your love to him.
So... you had to play hard to get.
That was already something you were good at. You never wanted a boyfriend before, so acting like you still don't want one might challenge Jotaro to, well, want you!
Being his neighbour makes things a little easier, though. You'll probably start to get close to his mom, then he'll learn about you.
~~~~~~
You scramble ingredients across your kitchen counter. You were going to make tiramisu to give to Holly tomorrow. (Please try tiramisu it's heavenly)
After hours of confusion, hard work and perfect layering, you made a large pan of the Italian dessert. You also made yourself a portion with the extra ingredients left over.
~~~~~~
The next day, you were feeling anxious about going to Jotaro's house out of the blue. As you walked out of school, the swarm of your classmates and even some of your friends indicated that the delinquent was nearby. You looked into the crowd to find him, which was easy because he's so tall, and you two made eye contact that felt like minutes even though it was just for 2 seconds.
You smile at him ever so slightly, and he notices. The stone cold expression on his face doesn't change, though. So you look away, pretending to be uninterested.
When you get home, you get the tiramisu pan out of the fridge and walk to the Kujo residence just a few houses away. It was true Japanese architecture and the front of the house was breathtaking.
You press the buzzer on the front gate and wait for someone to answer.
"What?" a rough voice asks.
"I'm here for Holly, I um, I have a dessert for her," you answer nervously.
Advertisement
You hear a sigh, "She's doing the laundry." and the front gates open.
You walk in and try to find the laundry room, but you just couldn't. You hear heavy footsteps behind you and you turn around.
"Hey, where's the laundry room?" you ask.
He guides you there with a huff.
You knock on the laundry room door to find Holly folding clothes, "Hi, Ms. Kujo. I brought you some tiramisu."
Her face lights up as she looks at the coffee dessert, "Oh, Y/N! I haven't seen you in ages! I see that you've met Jotaro. She's pretty, isn't she, Jojo?"
He looks away from everyone and instead at paintings on the walls, ignoring the question.
"Gee, thanks," you say sarcastically.
"Meet me in the tea room, I'll be there in just a minute. It's down that way to the right." Holly directs you, and you bring the tiramisu to the room.
There are already plates and cutlery on the table, so you cut a slice for Holly and put it on a plate.
"Did you want one too?" you ask the shadow behind you, "Is that why you followed me?"
"Just give me some damn dessert," he retorts.
You look at him, offended, "I made this. Be nice or no dessert for you."
What a jerk! You didn't want to go on with the bet anymore because of Jotaro's constant disrespect! But... you couldn't lose your manga collection. You had the last volume of Chainsaw Man and you couldn't lose that!
"Fine. Have one," you say after a pause, and you cut him a slice to eat.
He sits down beside you and tries it, "Not bad."
"Not bad?" you scoff, "It's a perfect recipe. I've been making this since I was a child."
He continues eating without a word.
Holly enters the room, cheerful. "Y/N, what brings you here?"
You put on a sweet smile for her, "I haven't seen you in so long, and my parents insisted I make you my tiramisu!"
She tries some on her plate as the flavours melt in her mouth and she reacts accordingly, "Mmm! It's only gotten better since you were a kid! Thank you."
"No problem," you say nonchalantly, and you get up to go home.
"Jojo, go walk her home," Holly insists.
Strategy 1 is working!
He groans and gets up with you.
As you exit the home, Jotaro asks you a question that leaves you in shock.
"Are you only into girls?"
You look at him with surprise and confusion, "No, why?"
"It's just that you... have no reaction to me. We can have a casual conversation and I like that," he responds.
"Yeah, well not every girl falls in love with you immediately. Let that sink in." you tease.
He smiles ever so slightly, and your heart flutters. Should you make a move now?
"I know a place that has better tiramisu than the one I make, how about we try that out?" you ask as you take a large risk.
"I'll think about it."
~~~~~~~
You beam as your waitress puts the tiramisu slice in between you and Jotaro, "This looks so good!"
Jotaro examines the slice, "This tiny piece was too expensive."
You take your spoon and scoop some onto it, attempting to feed Jotaro for a 'cute moment', "This isn't the best in Tokyo for no reason. You'll love it, have some!"
You smile widely at him, encouraging to have a bite. He looks at your spoon, then at you. Very awkwardly, he opens his mouth and slowly gets the dessert off of the spoon. You laugh a little from his awkwardness and blush. He has no idea about handling wholesome girls.
"Not bad." he responds.
"So? What's better, mine or this?" you ask.
"Well," he starts, "I've always preferred homemade food over restaurants, so... yours."
You celebrate quietly and get back to eating the fine dessert.
After you left, Jotaro insisted on showing you his marine biology book collection at his house.
He nerded out about every whale to exist, and your brain was being fried with all of his detailed explanations.
At some point, it started to bore you. You fell asleep, head on the table, and you woke up to find Jotaro just inches away from your face.
"You fell asleep." he says and backs away.
"So you're just... gonna watch me?" you ask in confusion.
He gets defensive and says, "I was calling your name but you didn't wake up so I went closer. Yare yare daze, woman."
He tilts his hat down but you saw his pink-tinted cheeks before he covered them.
~~~~~~~
At school, BF/N asks you about your progress with Jotaro.
"So, Y/N? Did your tiramisu make its way into Jotaro's heart?"
You nod, "Sort of. And we also went to the dessert house you and I always go to! It wasn't a date but... I gave him the first bite on my spoon!"
BF/N squeals, "That's amazing, Y/N! It's crazy how you're able to even bring him food. I still hope I don't lose my manga, though!"
You look down with concern, "I'm starting to really like him, BF/N. I don't know how he feels about me."
"You got this, Y/N. Just keep working your nonchalant magic and he'll love you in no time," they reply.
~~~~~~
3 weeks later...
After (favourite sport) practice after school, you felt so winded and tired. You came home to find your mother delighted to finally see you.
"What's going on, mom?" you ask, confused.
"Oh, Y/N! You never told me you had a boyfriend! He's very handsome!" she replies.
You raise an eyebrow, "I don't have a boyfriend, mom."
She stops, "So... who's that boy in the backyard?"
You question your security and you dash outside in case your mom let a random person in your home.
You find said handsome man sitting against your large oak tree's stump, indulged in a book.
You drop your stuff and walk towards the tree, plopping down beside the boy with a thud.
"You never told me you play (favourite sport)." Jotaro says as his eyes are locked in the book.
"You never asked." you shrug.
You two sit in silence as he reads. Wanting to be closer to him, you rest your head on his shoulder in exhaustion, shutting your eyes. He looks at you, but says nothing to object. He doesn't move. Instead, he continues reading his book.
You feel so at peace. The autumn weather has wind breezing through your hair and on your bare legs, but you feel so warm next to him.
"Y/N," Jotaro calls.
You wake up with half lidded eyes, only to find him leaning closer and closer to your face.
With a gentle cup of your cheek, he kissed you. You blushed and asked, "Why did you do that?"
"I love you, Y/N. That's not an easy word for me to throw around, but I mean it," he responds with a soft smile.
You grin and hide your face on his jacket.
~~~~~~~
You and Jotaro were two fools in love with no labels. You didn't cling to him in public, because that would just obliterate your reputation.
Jotaro sees you walk into an empty classroom with BF/N and decides to approach.
"I did it!" you exclaim.
"I'm so happy for you, Y/N! But at the same time, I'm sad that I lost my best manga to you. A bet is a bet, and you can get them after school!" they reply.
You two shake on it, then Jotaro walks into a room with an extremely hurt expression.
"Was I nothing but a fucking bet to you?" he asks.
Your eyes widen in horror, "No, that's not what it looks like! I have always found you attractive, Jojo!"
He storms out, "I don't wanna hear it."
You run after him, grasping his hand, and he turns around.
"Was it a bet?" he asks.
You can't lie to him. You gulp and nod slowly, "Yes, only at first. But I caught real feelings for y-"
"Save it, Y/N," he cuts in, "Enjoy your manga. Can't believe I was a fucking bet over some paper with pictures. I told you I loved you, and this is what you do to me?"
You stare at him as he walked away with heavy strides. Tears stream uncontrollably down your face as you watched your first love develop hate for you.
I guess you deserved it. You could have done all of this without a bet.
You didn't attend school for a week. You were too busy being sad over Jotaro and binging your favourite shows. Your parents urged you to go to Jotaro's house to apologize and talk. In fact, your mom grabbed you by the ear and dragged you down the street when she got home in the evening.
You arrive and your mom pushes the button.
"Hello?" a high pitched voice answers.
"It's (mom's name), Y/N needs to talk to Jotaro."
"Jojo has been gone for a while, but I'm sure he'll be back soon. Come in for some dinner," Holly insists.
Your mom took up on that offer. You sit at the dining table with your mom and Holly as they chat the night away over some sake.
The door suddenly slides open and you're met with turquoise eyes locked with yours.
"What is this bitch doing here?" Jotaro asks furiously.
"Don't call her that, Jojo!" Holly scolds him.
He walks away and you run after him once again.
"Jotaro, please wait!" you beg.
He turns around, and it's clear that he hates you.
"Can you just hear me out?" you ask of him.
You pour your entire heart out into your next words, "I never felt the need to have a boyfriend before. BF/N urged me to and I told them I would already have one if I wanted one. They took that as a challenge and yes, we bet that I would have you fall in love with me, but trust me, I fell first. I always believed that love should sprout on connection and dates, not at first sight or because of lust. I got to know the real you, the casual and sweet you. And you make my heart flutter so much, I-I don't even know what I'm saying anymore. I'm so sorry."
You watch his furrowed eyebrows and tense face soften, "You lied, Y/N. You didn't fall first."
"What?" you ask.
"I've always noticed you, Y/N," he explains, "In the library. In class. You were too invested in your studies to notice. I was just so mad that the girl I loved was playing with my feelings."
Tears threaten to spill out of your eyes, "I'm so sorry, Jojo. My feelings for you are very real, I just wish I had done this by myself. Without a bet."
"Maybe you should have, Y/N." he sighs, "But it's okay. BF/N scolded me about how you really did love me, but I didn't believe them. And I heard you skipped school for a week, that's not like you."
"I was thinking a lot about you, Jotaro. I lost motivation to get out of bed because I was scared to face you." you explain.
He comes closer to you, "Let's make another bet."
You tilt your head with question, "What bet?"
"I bet that we'll start over again, starting now." he responds.
"What will I have to give you if I lose?" you tease.
He smiles knowingly, "A large pan of your tiramisu."
You grin, "I'll start it tonight. I love you."
"I love you, too."
He leans down and pulls you closer by the hips to kiss you once more.

A Virtual Invasion
An invasion from another dimension is shut down by an Empire's traitor and the world has a scant few decades to build the strength to resist a multidimensional Empire. How will the world fair when no one even knows its doom is one barred gate away? Fortunately, the traitor has a plan. Maybe with a bit of luck and planning, he can build a force to defend the world without anyone realizing it. Author's Thoughts: What is litRPG (From wikipedia) - LitRPG, short for Literary Role Playing Game, is a literary genre combining the conventions of MMORPGs with science-fiction fantasy novels.[1] LitRPG is a literary genre where games or game-like challenges form an essential part of the story. A LitRPG work simultaneously narrates the story of characters inside and outside of the game-world. At least some of the characters in a LitRPG novel therefore understand that they are playing a game: they are 'meta-aware'. So, while Tolkien's Lord of the Rings is a fantasy novel, a book about people creating avatars and interacting in a Lord of the Rings MMORPG would be a LitRPG novel.Why do I read them? You know, I am not too sure. I love MMOs. I played them, quit them, joined up and repeated the cycle. They are fun! They are a massive waste of time but so are most games. Do I want to read about someone else playing them? Sort of?The advent of VR and the possibility of VR someday becoming so immersive that you can't tell them from reality sets the imagination on fire. What if this could be life? But most stories fall short. At the end of the day the protagonist hangs up his VR helmet and goes to have dinner with his mom and dad or other family and it becomes meaningless. It's like the story that ends because the main character woke up and nothing you read matters.There have been some books that explore the concept of the intersection of reality and total immersion VR. Enders Game is a classic. There were a few others that escape me but they exist, however, the cross between the game and reality is weak.So what if the game was real? The technology needed for total immersion VR is so advanced that by the time we reach that goal technology should have naturally evolved to include several items. You must have direct neural input. You simply can't have a total immersion (all senses and perfect presence) experience without this basic prerequisite. If you have direct neural access, you can probably do neat things like feed knowledge and skills directly to that person. You can undoubtedly do many horrible things as well. Muscles are controlled by the brain. If you control the brain why would you let the body just sit there and rot? A person that sits unmoving for 24 hours a day will have their body whither away just like a coma patient. However, if you control the brain you could control the muscles. On a basic level, this would be isometric impulses, working muscle group against muscle group to avoid atrophy. Taken to its logical conclusion you would be able to gain muscle mass and program muscle memory. The flip side is that you could remote control their body... but let's not go there. So what would people do if it were real? Well, they would probably limit and regulate it since the drawbacks are very obvious. Even if you look at the basic aspects of this you can see some negative possibilities. Look at the Sword Art Online anime. Personally, I think they missed the boat by putting a bomb in the VR helmet. Do you really need a bomb when you have direct access to the brain?So what kind of events would you need to have a situation where the obvious drawbacks haven't been explored? Maybe a society where the advancement of technology has so far outstripped the explorations of its applications that ignorance was truly bliss? Okay, so I had to put in an alien invasion to kickstart the premise, but that was just one of the possibilities.
