You where lying in your foxhole one night in Bastogne. You where trying to keep warm but no one else was in with you so it was quite hard.You then heard slow and tired foot steps coming closer and closer to your foxhole.You peaked your head out to see Eugene standing there."You ok there doc" you smile tiredly."Yea , Yea I'm fine just tired" he said.You could tell he was tired."Come one , you can share my foxhole with me" you say."Thanks y/n" he said getting into it with you.You let him lay into you.

You had always treated Eugene with respect for working hard to keep the boys alive.He was thankful to have someone like you to look after him when he didn't have time to look himself. You kept him happy and all the boys where glad you did.You softly played with his hair as he fell asleep softly against your body.You couldn't help but smile as you thought he looked cute when he was sleeping.You fell asleep not long after him.

You peacefully woke up the next morning with Eugene still by your side.He was awake but didn't want to move incase he woke you up."Lovely and cold isn't it this morning" you yawned."Definitely" Eugene said.

It was later on in the day and shelling was going off.You sat curled up in a ball as the shelling scared you.You didn't know where Eugene was but you hoped he was ok.After the shelling stopped , you got out your foxhole and went to check on everyone.You saw Eugene walking about.

You and some of the boys from easy.You where sat down and leaning against a tree."y/n , can you sing something" Bill asked."Yea sure" you said smiling.You thought of a song and decided it would hopefully lighten the mood.
