"Hey I never asked you how your date went?" Beca asked as they made their way back downstairs.
"It went great! Tom's a great guy and treated me so well. I think something good will happen with this one" Chloe said smiling.
"That's great Chlo, I'm happy for you" Beca lied.
It hurt her to know Chloe was moving on, she was still madly in love with the girl. Even though it pained her knowing Chloe was happy with someone else she still tried to be happy for her.
"Thanks Bec" Chloe said with a smile.
They made their way into the living room. The girls already had it setup for movie night. They picked a movie and got situated on the couches. Of course Chloe cuddled up to Beca's side. Beca smiled down at the girl, remembering all the times when they would lay like this together. All the old feelings and memories flashed through her head and made it hard to breathe. She couldn't take it. It hurt to much. She shot up off the couch confusing all the girls, especially Chloe. She ran upstairs grabbing her guitar and songbook before making her way back downstairs and into the back yard. Words just started flooding out of her and onto the paper.
She sang and played her guitar as the emotions ran through her. She didn't even hear Stacie come outside with her. She just continued playing and singing.
"You okay?" Stacie asked after Beca finished, scarring the girl.
"Yeah, yeah I'm fine" Beca said as she quickly removed the tears from her eyes.
"You can talk to me Bec, don't put your walls back up please" Stacie almost begged.
"It hurts. Knowing I can never have her again. Knowing I lost her. Like I still have her but at the same time I don't, does that make sense?" Beca asked and Stacie nodded.
"I know it's gonna be hard Bec. I know how much you love her." Stacie said as she sat beside the girl.

"She wanted me back Stace, she wanted to try again but I said no" Beca said sadly as she hung her head.
"If you wanted to be with her so bad why'd you say no?" She asked confused.
"Mike said that I need to stay single. It's good for sales. He also didn't want me getting hurt again so he told me I can't be with Chloe" Beca said.
"I can't believe you actually listened" Stacie said.
"Me neither. What am I suppose to do huh? I can't do anything without thinking about her. Every song is about her, I get drunk and think about her, I traveled all over the world and none of it mattered because I wasn't with Chloe" Beca said.
"It's gonna take a while and it's gonna hurt but you'll make it through, just do what you do best, put your feelings into your music." Stacie told her.
"I could produce a whole new album if I did that" Beca joked and Stacie smiled.
"I should go back inside before the girls get nosey and come out here, are you coming or staying out here?" Stacie asked.
"I'm gonna stay out here. I'm finally allowing myself to feel, it might take awhile." She said slightly smiling at Stacie.
Stacie just nodded before making her way inside and back to the living room.
"What's up with shortstack?" Amy asked.
"Is she okay?" Chloe asked right after.
"She's fine, just hurting. She's finally allowing herself to feel all the emotion she's been keeping in since she got here. Just let her be okay?" Stacie said and the others nodded.
As the ending credits rolled on their movie the girls began cleaning up. Beca never came back inside so after they cleaned Chloe went up and waited in Beca's room. She knows Stacie told them to leave her but Chloe was worried about her. Amy left after the movie finished to be with Bumper so she had the room to herself.

About two hours later Beca came up to her room. As she closed the door again she hear a voice from behind her causing her to jump.
"Are you okay?" Chloe asked.
"Jesus Chloe, you scared me" Beca said turning around and putting her guitar away.
"You didn't answer my question" Chloe said.
"Can you put this in that bedside drawer?" Beca asked throwing her songbook towards Chloe.
"Is this your songbook?" She asked.
"Yep. Every song I ever wrote is in there. Please don't look" Beca said.
"I won't" she said as she set the book in the drawer, "stop changing the subject and answer my question please" Chloe said.
Instead of answering, Beca just went inside of her closet and changed. Once she changed she walked back over to her bed where Chloe sat and got in.
"Are you going back to your room or staying here?" Beca asked and Chloe had enough.
"Beca Mitchell answer my damn question. Are you okay, like actually?" Chloe asked and Beca just stared into her eyes.
After what felt like forever Beca finally answered.
"No" she simply said.
"Why not? Please talk to me, before anything you were my best friend and I believe you still are. Don't shut me out" Chloe said.
"Five years ago I started dating the love of my life. Twenty-one years I spent by that girls side. She hurt me but the love I have for her is so strong. That's how I knew she was it for me. My stupidity caused me to lose her. She wanted to try again, she wanted me back just as much as I wanted her, but I said no. I said no because of my stupid manager who convinced me it was what was best. Never have I regretted a decision more in my life. Now she's gone on a date with a guy who makes her happy. Ironically the guy I was scared of losing her to back in high school. I lost the chance I had of getting her back and it hurts more than anything ever has before. I'm truly heartbroken." Beca said.
"I have and always will love you Beca. I hade no clue about you wanting to be with me, if I did I wouldn't have gone on that date. I believe your my person, the one I'm meant to be with" Chloe whispered.
"It's always you Chloe, it's always been you" Beca said turning her head towards her.
Chloe didn't say anything. She just leaned forward and captured Beca's lips in hers. Sparks flew through both of them at the contact. All the old memories of their high school days came into their minds as Beca deepened the kiss. Chloe made the bold move to straddle her. Beca's hands immediately found their way to her lower back as Chloe held her face. They pulled apart for a second and looked into each other's eyes. All they saw was love.
"Take me back, be mine again" Beca whispered.
"I was always yours" Chloe whispered back before reconnecting their lips.
A few hours later they were laying in bed, naked, just holding each other, both had smiles on their faces. Beca glanced at the clock and noticed it was 2:53 in the morning.
"We should actually go to sleep. I've got a long day in the studio. I got to be their by ten" Beca said as she ran her fingers up and down Chloe's arm.
"Okay, Goodnight Becs, I love you" Chloe said leaning up to kiss Beca's cheek before returning to her spot.
"Goodnight. I love you too Beale" Beca said with a smile.
They both fell asleep happy that night.

Everyone dies. Not everyone gets back up again afterward. The Deep Paths are a cursed place, meant for those similarly cursed souls whom the gods themselves denied the sweet release of death. Revenants haunt the underworld, wielding forbidden powers and often consuming those who lack the strength to join them. At least, that's the story that parents teach their kids up on the surface. Reshid can't remember what he might have done to deserve such a fate, but he learns quickly that there is more to undeath than the gods and their faithful preach to the living. Revenants have a unique connection to essential magics that allows them to develop their powers in extremely diverse ways. Wherever there is power, though, there are those seeking to wield it, whether they be governments and gods from above, or mythical elder races from below.
