《Shadows {Book one in the Coriana Johnson series}》The Secret Warriors! (who came up with that name anyway?)

I sighed, exasperated. Daisy was being more impatient than me, which was a huge accomplishment. And it was also super annoying.
"If there's some sort of secret afterburner you haven't kicked in yet, now would be the time," She yelled to the pilots.
I mean, I got that she wanted to get there as soon as possible, but she didn't need to complain about it for twenty minutes straight.
"They're going as fast as they can. We'll get there," Lincoln assured her.
"Coulson's team vanished halfway around the world, and we still have two pickups to make," Daisy responded. "Fly faster!" She said, turning again to the pilots.
I rolled my eyes at her.
"Now who's the impatient one?" I muttered to Lincoln.
He smiled.
"She should get a trophy for being more impatient than me," I said.
"Hey! I heard that!" Daisy exclaimed from behind us.
I just grinned.
Daisy walked over to me.
"I'm not sure if you should even be going," Daisy said.
I rolled my eyes.
"Don't start with this now. And don't you dare say that I'm too young, or that I'm hurt!" I exclaimed.
"But you are," Daisy muttered.
"I heard that! But it doesn't matter. The team needs us. I'm going. Period. End of story," I said firmly.
Daisy glanced at Lincoln.
"Daisy. She can help," he said.
Daisy sighed.
"Ok. Fine. Just be careful," she said.
"They're ready!" The pilot shouted.
Daisy nodded.
"Then let's get 'em."
Daisy introduced me to Elena "Yo-Yo" Rodriguez, and Joey Gutierrez, who were also Inhumans.
"Satellite scans show massive hidden doors ... a hangar buried under the oil fields about 300 feet," Daisy informed them.
"What is, uh, Hydra?" Elena asked.
"Kidnapping Inhumans, global terrorism ... all-around bad dudes," Daisy explained.
"How'd they take the plane?" Joey asked.
"Don't know," Daisy said.
"What's the base's layout?"
"Don't know," Lincoln replied.
"How many soldiers?" Elena asked.
"We don't-" the two of them began.
"You don't know," Elena and Joey said, cutting them off.
"We don't have much, but these are friends who've put their lives on the lines for each of us, right? But we do have a way in...service wells that can get us within 50 feet of the base," Daisy explained.

"And what about the other 50 feet?" Joey asked.
"I'll take care of that," Daisy replied.
"Okay. Uh, when do we land?" He asked.
I grinned.
"Who said anything about landing?" I said.
I took a deep breath and put my parachute on.
Daisy was standing next to me.
"Are you nervous?" She asked.
I nodded.
"I've never done this before," I said.
"You'll be fine. Oh, and before I forget to say this, I'm sorry about earlier. I'm just worried about you."
I smiled.
"It's fine."
She smiled as well and glanced towards the others, checking to see if they were ready. She turned back towards me.
"You ready?"
I nodded.
"Then let's go get our people!"
She turned around and opened the ramp.
"For one reason or another, each of us has been given a gift. Let's put 'em to good use."
I took a deep breath, and got ready to jump.
We ran into the base through the broken wall that Daisy had blasted open.
I looked around.
"Well, I guess we can call this area clear," Joey said.
I laughed.
"No kidding," I said as I looked at the Hydra guards lying unconscious on the ground who had gotten hit with parts of the wall.
"Split up," Daisy ordered. "I'll go solo, Cori will go with Lincoln, and you guys take the elevator. Find our team, and report back. Got it?"
We all nodded.
Daisy started to turn away, but I grabbed her hand for a brief moment.
"Be careful," I told her.
She smiled slightly and nodded.
"You too."
Lincoln motioned for me to follow him, and, reluctantly, a went with him. I took a deep breath. I had a mission to carry out. I had to focus on that.
We crept through the hallway. We stopped as three guards came around the corner.
I grinned at Lincoln.
"These shouldn't be a problem," I said.
He nodded and we moved forward, getting ready to attack them.
I thrust my hand outwards, hitting one guard with a blast of dark energy. It knocked him back, leaving him dazed. I ran up to him and kicked him in the stomach, making him double over, then I finished him off with another energy blast.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw that Lincoln had taken out the second guard, and was fighting the last one.
I sent a blast of energy past Lincoln, hitting the guard square in the chest, rendering him unconscious.
Lincoln looked over his shoulder at me.
"I had him!"
I shrugged my shoulders.
"Yeah. You were just being slow," I responded.
He rolled his eyes and turned back around.
We continued down the hallway.
I had to admit, it was difficult and slightly painful to fight with a broken arm. It was close(ish) to being healed, since it had only been a fracture, not a complete break, but I hadn't been helping it since I've been probably a lot more active than I should have. I can just imagine the look on Simmons's face if she saw me.
"I got eyes on the Zephyr. Entrance is on the north side, sub-level 5. Crash on that location," Daisy's voice said over the comms.
"Copy that," Lincoln said.
"More guards!" I exclaimed and created on orb of dark energy in my hand.
Lincoln nodded and send a bolt of electricity at the nearest guard.
I "threw" the dark energy orb towards two of the guards, and it exploded in between them, throwing the violently against the walls as Lincoln took the others.
Suddenly I saw something out of the corner of my eyes and whirled around.
I realized there was a heavy-looking object being flung towards the back of his head.
"Lincoln!" I yelled, but I was too slow. The object connected with the back of his head and he crumpled to the ground.
Suddenly I spotted who had knocked Lincoln unconscious.
A man came around the corner and I recognized him as Giyera, the Inhuman whose power was telekinesis.
"You'll regret that," I growled.
He said nothing, but simply moved his hand, lifting up a fallen guard's gun.
I heard some more guards coming up behind me, but I wasn't going to admit defeat.
I created as much dark energy as possible in my hands, charging it up.
As the guards came around the corner, I let it explode out from me, taking out all of them.
I wasn't sure if the energy had killed them or knocked them out, but I wasn't going to wait around to find out.
I knelt by Lincoln's side.
"Lincoln? Lincoln! Come on! Wake up!" I said.
He didn't respond.
"Ugh. Daisy?" I said over the comms.
"What is it?" She asked.
"Lincoln's unconscious. What should I do with him?"
I heard her sigh.
"Ok...get him to a safe place, then come back for him."
"Ok, thanks. I was just hoping that there was a way to do this that doesn't involve me having to drag him somewhere."
"Maybe you need to train more. I should tell May."
I rolled my eyes as I bent down to grab Lincoln's arms.
"Just shut up."
I started to pull him down the hall, grunting as I did so.
"Why do you have to be so dang heavy, Lincoln?" I said.
I finally came to a small storage area, and pulled Lincoln into the corner of it.
"I think you'll be safe here. I'll be back." I ran out and continued down the hall.
I soon ran into more guards. I shot a burst of dark energy at the first one, and he flew into the wall, knocking him unconscious.
Another one raised his gun, but I grabbed it and twisted it out of his grasp and brought it down hard on his head, and finished him off with an energy blast.
I then spun around and took out the last guard with some more dark energy.
He crashed through a glass "wall" and I peeked around the corner, into the room. A man stood in the room, staring at me.
Malick, I thought.
"Guys? I've got Malick," I informed the rest of the team. "I'll meet you at the Zypher."

Is It Too Late To Move My Lair?
A legendary dragon... It has been told in the stories for hundreds of years. Some say it keeps a mountain of treasure in its cave, some say it is a vicious beast, some say it protects the village nearby, some claim it can grant their wishes, and some just think it's nothing more than a fairytale. He is not. The dragon is very real, although he isn't bothered by what people think of him in the slightest. He also doesn't have a grand treasure, nor does he grant wishes, like a magical genie. He is not interested in eating humans either. And as for protecting them… well. This is the story of the time before the legends, how they came to life and a dragon in the quest of his snooze. In a nutshell, this is a simple, light-hearted story with a dragon in it. What I have in mind is a relatively short one compared to most of the works on this site, but we'll see where it goes. This is my first attempt at writing something like this, so please be patient and kind in pointing out mistakes. As for the posting schedule... let's say it will be sporadic. Hope you enjoy reading, as much as I do while writing it… THE STORY IS NOT DROPPED, JUST SLOW ON THE UPDATES. Cover art by Nane, aka me. (Cross-posted on Scribble Hub.)

While the entire series story has undergone major changes in the last year, all books have been planned since the beginning of writing.
