I collapsed on my bed, exhausted.
Training had been exhausting, but not as exhausting as the day I was late.
Not only had she made me do extra push ups and pull ups, but training had been extended for another 30 minutes. (A word of advice: never, and I mean , be late for any training session with May. You'll regret it, trust me)
Needless to say, from then on, I was never late for training. In fact, I was usually early.
I laid in bed for a bit, but I got bored, so I decided to check out the lab again.
I had never really gotten a chance to check out their tech.
Like I had said, I was pretty good with technology, and I enjoyed working with it.
This time, it was only Fitz who was in the lab.
I knocked on the door.
"Come in," he said.
"Hi Fitz!" I said cheerfully.
"Hi," he said, looking up from the equipment he was studying.
"Whatcha doing?" I asked.
"Working on a piece of equipment. You?"
"Just wandering around. What's wrong with the equipment?"
"A component shorted out, so I'm just fixing it."
I was only half listening, since I suddenly became fascinated by all of the tech in the lab. I had never seen anything like it.
To anyone watching, I probably looked like a kid in a candy store.
I noticed Fitz watching me as I looked around the lab- he probably wanted to make sure I didn't break anything.
"So.....are you interested in technology?" he asked after a little bit.
"What? Oh! Yeah. One of my friends taught me some stuff, and I picked up the rest. Once I made a device to help keep my power contained, but it got destroyed and I never was able to make another one. I also modified my phone once, I gave it longer battery life, increased it's storage space, stuff like that," I told him.
"Can I see it?" he asked.
I nodded and handed my phone to him.

He started examining it and muttering to himself.
After a bit, he hand ed it back to me.
"Wow. See, what you did is really simple, I could do it easily-"
"Thanks," I cut him off sarcastically.
"You didn't let me finish. I was about to say, it's really good for someone who has had no professional training like I have. And you said you had made a device to help contain your power?"
"Yeah. I noticed that my power reacted with light bulbs, so I assumed it had to do something with the energy, so I was able to make something that contained a sort of light in it, but there was too much energy for my power to absorb so....yeah," I said rather quickly.
"If you want to, I could teach you some more things. With good training, you could become pretty good with this sort of thing," Fitz offered.
"That would be great! Thank you!" I exclaimed as my face lit up.
"Bye! Thanks again!" I said cheerfully as I left the lab.
I was extremely happy.
I had hoped I would be able to work on some SHIELD tech, but I hadn't expected Fitz to teach me! From all of the tech I had seen, I could tell that dude was a genius.
I walked towards my room with a big smile on my face, then when I got there, plopped down on my bed and started to listen to some music.
I let it relax me as I felt myself drifting off to sleep.
I walked down the hallway, looking for the rest of the team.
"Daisy!" I called out. "Where are you?"
I heard a muffled noise and whirled around. I saw a figure standing there. I realized it was Daisy, so I ran to greet her.
Suddenly, the room went dark. I saw her falling to the ground.
Then the darkness cleared, revealing the rest of the team.
They were all on the ground, lifeless.
I ran over to Daisy. Her eyes were black and lifeless. Her skin was pale and cold.

As I ran over to everyone else, I realized something.
They were all dead.
I had killed them.
"Cori? Cori!" I heard a distant voice yell.
"Wake up!"
I began to wake up, realizing that someone had actually spoken.
I opened my eyes and saw Daisy, Lincoln, Fitz, Simmons and Mack huddled around my bed, staring at me, with Coulson and May in the background.
"Wh- why are you guys all looking at me? What happened?" I said, slightly out of breath.
"We heard you yelling and screaming. We came to see what happened," Daisy said.
I nodded.
"Are you OK, Shady?" Mack asked.
"I'm fine," I said and sighed.
I could tell no one believed me.
"Are you sure?" Lincoln asked.
"I'm fine."
"Really? Because you don't seem-" Daisy began.
"I'm fine!" I said with frustration. "Why don't you all believe me?
"I'd like to have a word with Cori alone," said the last person I expected to say anything: May.
I looked at her in surprise.
Coulson nodded and left, and motioned for the others to follow. Everyone looked a little reluctant, but Simmons left after a few moments.
"Do you need any-" Fitz began.
"I said I'm fine," I cut him off.
He sighed and left.
Mack, Daisy, and Lincoln were the only ones left, and it didn't look like they wanted to leave any time soon.
"I said alone," May said.
Mack sighed and squeezed my shoulder.
"Just let me know if you need anything," he said and turned to leave.
"Come on," he said to Lincoln and Daisy.
Lincoln went with him reluctantly, but Daisy didn't budge.
"Daisy," May said firmly, "Go."
"Just go Daisy," I said.
She sighed, and finally left.
I sat up on the bed.
"So.....what did you want?" I asked her.
"You were dreaming, right?" she said.
"Maybe."
"About what?"
"It's not important."
"You were screaming. So I'm sure you remember."
"Why do you care?"
"Because from what I saw and heard, you're afraid of something. And if you're going to be in the field, ever, you'll need to get past that. I'm your S.O. This is my job."
I looked down. May was the last person I wanted to talk to about this. Ok, scratch that, anything. If I ever wanted to talk about something, May would be the last person I would go to.
But she was my S.O., so I needed to get used to her. I guess.
I sighed.
"I- I dreamed I was on a mission. Which is totally weird, since I've never even been on one before. But anyways, I was looking for the team. Daisy in particular.
"Then, I found her. But when I went over to her, the room suddenly became entirely black. It reminded me of what would happen sometimes when I lost control of my powers.
"Daisy suddenly fell to the ground. I ran to her side. As soon as I did I- I knew she was dead.
Then the rest of the team appeared. They were all dead too. And then, somehow, I knew- I had killed them," my voice broke and I looked down as I finished telling her about the dream.
The truth was, that is exactly what I was afraid of. That I would end up losing control and killing everyone.
May nodded.
"If you want to be a field agent, you need to get past that. Being afraid does you no good. You can't dwell on the fear you will kill more people. If you do, it's more likely you will."
I nodded.
"Thanks."
She nodded and walked out.
I sighed and leaned against the wall.
May might not be the friendliest person, but I guess she wasn't that bad. Plus she was cool. Super cool. Like one of the coolest people ever.
But don't tell her I said that.

The Helena Chronicles
Espers are really no different than humans; they look like any normal human and in general behave like any normal human. However, there are a few key differences. The max life expectancy of espers ranges from forty-five to fifty. They also have a mysterious energy source they call Focus that is generated naturally by all espers. The continent of Elestveeve is populated by three major factions, each a governing force. On the west of the continent, there is the Noble Houses that subscribe to the Deity Faith. The Houses ruling with the Deity Faith as council since the religion's founding four-hundred years previous. Controlling most of the northeast is WITCH, an organization ruled by powerful espers; claiming the mysterious Genesis as their capital, they are a whispered myth among much of the continent's less technically advanced residents. In the southeast you have Tech City, a towering monolith of a capital with four sky layers and metropolis' leveled deep underground; it is a city brimming with technical advancement and cyber integration. Each faction contends with one another for their evolutionary ideology, by devout religious worship to receive miraculous gifts, unique genetic lineage to obtain ESP, and technological integration to become something more than human. Helena, a young genius and esper, awakes in a dark room with only fuzzy memories and the company of seven other children. She must determine how she got there and how to get back to where she came from. Warning: Due to time constraints, I don't have the time to keep up on my three stories; therefore, Helena will need to go in a stasis chamber until I can find more time to write between work and life. I love my first girl so much! however, it seems she is the least popular among the fans (the poor girl T_T). This world is much bigger than my other two novels and I'm not giving up on it, but simply having to put her on ice.
