《MOAS ; Coming Home》A Wanted (Inhu)man

As I begin to wake up, I quickly take out my gun from my right holster and sit up and aim it in front of me, and I slowly lower it when I see that I am in my room with Rosco sitting at my feet looking at me at The Playground. I then look down at the clothes I am wearing to see I am wearing the same clothes from when I passed out, when I destroyed the Monolith. After taking a shower and changing clothes, I head into my office with Rosco whom waiting for me just as my landline phone rings, and I walk over to my desk and hesitate to answer as it's my landline phone from my apartment back in Chicago. I then answer and put it on speaker.
"Hello?" I ask them as I pick my electronic tablet from my desk and begin to pull up the live security footage in my apartment onto the wall computer.
"Lyra?" I hear Lincoln's voice just as I pull up the footage up on the wall computer, and Lincoln is standing in my kitchen on the landline phone.
"Lincoln, you shouldn't be in my apartment. As soon as you went in you would have about five minutes before the alarms would go off." I say to him, and he begins to look around confused as I turn the security alarms off using the electronic tablet I am holding.
"You can see me?" Lincoln asks me confused.
"I can see you through the ceiling light in the kitchen." I tell him, and he looks up at it "You ready to come in yet?" I ask him.
"I can't, after everything with S.H.I.E.D..." Lincoln trails off.
"Well, I'm not S.H.I.E.L.D." I state.
"I know, thats why I came here. I've called almost every number on your landline, this is the only one I got through to." Lincoln explains to me.
"As you can see, I'm not there, so do you need cash? New identity? What can I do to help?" I ask him.
"I hate to ask you for anything, you've already given me so much." Lincoln says to me.
"And I helped you loose it, so take what you need." I tell him.
"Thanks." I see Lincoln smile lightly.
"Anytime. There is a trunk under my bed, it has about five thousand in there, and a few automatic weapons if you need 'em." I explain to him.
"Thanks, again. For everything." Lincoln thanks me.
"There's a key under the doormat, take it for future reference and try to find somewhere to lay low. I'm trying to finish up here at S.H.I.E.L.D. as fast as I can. Do you want to meet up after that? I can asks for some more favours from my inside guys, get new lives again." I explain to him.
"Yeah, that sounds good." Lincoln says to me.
"Alright, call if you need anything. Bye, Lincoln." I tell him.
"Bye." Lincoln sighs before I hang up, and I watch him hang up the landline phone in my apartment before I turn the security footage off, and I inhale lightly in worry for his safety. As I make my way to the lab to check in on Simmons, and I walk into the lab to see Coulson, Skye, Fitz, Mack and Morse as I hold an electronic tablet in my right hand.
"... Simmons didn't have to go through quarantine, which is good, all things considered." Coulson explains before they all turn to me, and Skye walks over to me before hugging me.

"Are you alright?" Skye asks me as she pulls away.
"I'm feel great, all things considered. And what exactly are these things that we're considering on Simmons?" I ask Coulson.
"Everything that comes with being on another planet for months." Morse answers.
"Different atmosphere, different levels of oxygenation, different microgravity. Every system in her body's out of whack. Cardiovascular, inner ear, respiratory all got used to being... Not here." Fitz explains.
"Labs indicate oxidative stress, vitamin D deficiency, upper-respiratory irritation." Morse adds.
"Any mention of life, intelligent or otherwise?" Coulson asks Fitz and Morse.
"Some flora, no fauna." Morse answers.
"She said she was being hunted." Fitz states.
"Wait. What? What does that mean?" Mack asks him confused.
"Hunted by what?" I ask Fitz.
"She didn't say. I don't know if she even knows." Fitz admits.
"My god. Imagine her having to go through all that alone for that long." Coulson states.
"Well, thanks to this guy, not anymore." I refer to Fitz.
"Monitor her physical health. I've got a call in to Dr. Garner. Her mental health is just as important. But don't push her. She'll open up when she's ready." Coulson explains "Lyra, any news on Lincoln?" He asks me.
"Not yet, but I'm one of the few people he actually trusts right now. He'll call when he's ready to come in or needs help." I assure him as I motion to my electronic tablet, and it almost immediately pings to indicate a rustle, and I look at the result in confusement.
"What we got?" Coulson asks me.
"Well, it's not good." I say to him.
Coulson, myself, Skye and Mack then move to Coulson's office as we watch the news on the wall computer, and Lincoln is now wanted globally.
"The suspect is considered dangerous. And is wanted by both federal authorities and the ATCU." The news reporter reports.
"This went from bad to really, really bad." Coulson states.
"They've gone public." I state as I refer to Price's team.
"If you do see this man, do not engage." The news reporter reports.
"Lyra and Skye, I need you to monitor all law enforcement near Lincoln's last known location." Coulson tells us.
"How about we take a team, go look for ourselves?" Skye suggests.
"No, the ATCU's on a witch hunt for powered people." Mack tells her.
"I'm not afraid of them." I state.
"No, but they're terrified of you, which makes them dangerous. Till we know where he is, you're not going out there." Coulson tells me.
"Encase I have to remind you, I don't work for you anymore, Coulson. If I want to leave-If I need to leave, I will." I tell him.
"Lyra-" Skye tries to say, but I cut her off.
"-No, for all we know whatever that monster is that is hunting us, could have followed S.H.I.E.L.D. when you found me, then followed S.H.I.E.L.D. when we got to Lincoln, and now Price is after him. When Lincoln first came to me needing to disappear, I made that happen and it took weeks to do so. He built a life in Cincinnati, and we tore that apart." I explains.
"That's why we're trying to help him." Coulson says to me.
"Well too bad, he doesn't want your help. I'll fix this on my own." I tell them before I walk out of the office.

As I sit in my office looking at my landline phone, waiting for Lincoln to call so he'll agree to come in, it suddenly begins to ring I don't bother to check the number before I answer it with my right hand and place the phone to my right ear.
"Hello?" I ask them.
"Lyra?" I hear Lincolns voice, and I sigh a smile.
"I'm glad you called, have you seen the news." I say to him.
"I need help." Lincoln tells me, and I hear panic in his voice.
"Alright, I'm on my way." I assure him.
"Just you." Lincoln tells me.
"Just me. Where are you?" I ask him.
After leaving a note on my desk for Skye to wander in and find, I arrive at the address that Lincoln gave me after he told me that his friend had a heart attack after seeing Lincolns powers and died, and I knock on the apartment door number he gave me. I then slowly open the door as it's unlocked, and when I see nobody is here and that it's in the middle of being furnished, I close the door after me.
"Sparky, it's me." I call out into the apartment, and Lincoln walks out from another room on the left side of the apartment "You're having a hell of a day." I say to him lightly.
"I, um... I killed him. John, um, he saved my life more than once. And now, I couldn't bring him back. Everything they're saying about me is true." Lincoln explains to me upset.
"Fine, they're right... You're dangerous. I'm dangerous. But that's not who you are. You-" I try to say to him as he begins to pace, but he cuts me off.
"-You're wrong." Lincoln shakes his head.
"I know the real you, Lincoln, and you-" I try to say to him as I take a step towards him, but he cuts me off again as he stops pacing.
"-You don't. The man who killed his only friend, who had to be saved from himself over and over? That's the real me. That's who I really am." Lincoln tells me before he starts to pace again.
"Not when I met you, not when you saved me from my own psychotic parents and helped save my sister. You gave me hope, someone I could trust and then I gave us both a new place in the world." I take another step towards him.
"Look what happened to it. You know better than anyone, if... If everything around you crumbles, then you're the cause." Lincoln says to me.
"Stop! You don't see it, but I do. You... You help people because you were meant to." I walk towards him, and he stops pacing and looks at me "You can do that with S.H.I.E.L.D., like you were doing at the hospital... Saving lives, a new life." I say to him with a small smile.
"That part of my life is over." Lincoln shakes his head at me upset.
"No, you... You are not cursed." I step closer to him, about five feet apart "You are not some horrible thing. I know... Because you showed me that I wasn't. You convinced me and my sister that we had a purpose, that maybe my life wasn't over because of our abilities, but just... Getting somewhere. Please let me do the same for you." I beg him as I step closer to him.
"You're wasting your time caring about me." Lincoln tells me.
"I-I can't help it." I admit to him, and without thinking I move my head closer to his before I slowly kiss him.
Lincoln then begins to kiss me back, and I place my left hand on his right cheek/ neck to get closer as he places his hands on my waist to do the same action. We then slowly pull away and let our foreheads rest against each other before opening our eyes, and I drop my hand from his cheek as he drops his right hand from the left side of my waist as we pull away slightly.
"I'll go in with you." Lincoln says to me, and I smile at him "I'm not agreeing to work with S.H.I.E.L.D., but with you." He tells me.
"Well, I'm not S.H.I.E.L.D., so we'll figure that part out together, I guess." I smile up at him, and he smiles back down at me.
Suddenly, a group of men, at least a dozen, with rifles kick down the door and aim their guns at Lincoln, so I push him behind me and stand in front of me.
"Coulson's orders, he's coming with us." One of the men tells me. The ATCU.
"Coulson isn't my boss." I tell them.
"He said he'd explain back at headquarters." The man tells me.
"Lyra, what's happening?" Lincoln asks me confused.
"But Coulson told me to let you know that you're gonna be safe. He's arranged for you to observe and make sure-" The man tries to say, but I cut him off.
"-I don't give a crap!" I shout at him.
"Take him into custody." The man says to his men.
Lincoln then suddenly charges his hands with electricity before placing his hands on the floor, shocking all of the men and making them fall on the ground, and I raise my hands at the men and create a Psionic barrier so they can't approach myself or Lincoln.
"Go." I tell Lincoln.
"I'm not leaving without you." Lincoln tells me.
"I'm not giving you a choice." I say to him before I take out my motorcycle keys with my right hand from my right, trouser pocket and throw them to Lincoln, and he catches them with both hands "Go, now!" I tell him as I keep my right hand raised at the men to keep the barrier up and I hold my left hand out to Lincoln, making him psychically invisible "I'll find you, I promise." I promise him as I still sense that he is here, and he hesitantly leaves. The men then begin to shoot, but then don't get passed my barrier "Do you really think you can stop me? Do you have any idea what I can do?" I ask him as they stop shooting.
"Yeah. That's why I have three snipers outside, ready to engage. What's the range on these powers of yours? How good are they?" The man asks me.
"Actually, pretty damn good." I tell him, and he pauses for a moment.
"... Copy that." The man says into his ear piece "I guess it's your lucky day. We're done. Let us go." He tells me.
"... Alright." I say, although I'm confused. I then swiftly take out my gun and shoot the ceiling above us with my powers flowing through the bullets, and the roof begins to collapse before I make a run for it.
After making it back to The Playground, I am currently with Coulson in his office whilst I feel like expanding my powers inside of him after the previous events.
"Help me understand." I tell him angrily.
"It was not an easy decision." Coulson states as he doesn't look me in the eyes.
"To hand Lincoln over?" I ask him angrily.
"I had to make a choice." Coulson says to me.
"So it was him or me." I state angrily.
"They have your picture, Lyra. Skye's, too." Coulson tells me.
"So why didn't they take me? Once Lincoln left, how did you convince them not to take me in, even if I did let them?" I ask him confused.
"I offered them something just as valuable." Coulson tells me.
"What?" I ask him.
"Me. My expertise." Coulson states, and I scoff light-heartedly.
"So... So now your working with them?" I ask him incredulously.
"I'm done fighting with people over who gets to fight the real fight. It's a colossal waste of time and resources. I went against Talbot. I went against another faction of S.H.I.E.L.D. We know what we're doing... They don't. Hopefully, they can learn from us." Coulson explains to me.
"It is hard to trust them when they are hunting people like me, my friend." I tell him.
"I never said I trust them." Coulson states.
"Good. Don't, because we have no idea what they're really after. And once we find Lincoln, they can't have him, understand?" I ask him.
"Duly noted." Coulson tells me.
"Good." I tell him before I walk out of his office.
