It's only been two weeks ever since Y/N begged Beidou to let them on The Crux on their trip to Inazuma. They said they'd be back in 3 months but I'm already missing them. It feels strange... not having them by my side.

I've been fine without them for several millennia but for some reason... I feel so stuck and helpless without Y/N. Have I become too dependent on their presence ?

"Xiao, what are we going to eat for lunch ?"

"Oh Qiqi... why don't we just go stop by Wanmin again for some takeout ?"

"Qiqi is okay with that but. Qiqi misses Y/N's cooking."

"I do too... let's just look forward to their return okay ?"

Qiqi nods her head and goes to her room to get dressed for our short trip to Wanmin. I feel so sluggish but I have to keep going for Qiqi... I have to keep going for Y/N.

I just wanna lie down all day.

Life isn't the same without them.

I miss Y/N so much.

I close my eyes for a second and see a vision of Y/N smiling. It feels so long since I last saw that beautiful face. I miss holding their hand. I miss being the big spoon for them. I miss coming home from work and seeing their happy face while braiding Qiqi's hair.

I miss—

"Xiao ?"

I look up to see Qiqi all dressed and ready to head out.

"Why is Xiao sad ?"

She points at my face and I just now realize I single year had left my tear ducts.

"It's nothing to worry about it Qiqi."

I try my best to form a believable smile but even I can tell it was fake. Qiqi seems to have noticed too.

Qiqi waddles towards me in crawls on to the couch to sit next to me.

"What is wrong ?"

"I shouldn't burden you with my problems."

Qiqi sits their quiet for a while. Unsure how to respond I'm guessing. But then she makes her move.

Qiqi stands up and wraps her arms around my neck. Nuzzling her head into mine. After the initial hesitation I ease in to the hug and can't help but cry more.

"Qiqi misses Y/N as much as you do. But Qiqi knows Y/N and I know that they are going to be okay and they will come home to us fine. So don't worry. You still have me."

... This was what I needed.

"Thanks Qiqi."

After sobbing a few more seconds I wipe away my tears and head out to get lunch with Qiqi.

I'm not feeling that much better but that talk with Qiqi earlier helped a great deal. We finish our meals and head back after buying Qiqi a kite. She walks into her room and I sit down k the couch.

Maybe I should pick up a hobby while I wait for Y/N to come home ? That would be an efficient use of my time... I wonder what I should stat with...

Definitely not cooking. Y/N has conditioned me into staying away from the kitchen at all costs ever since I accidentally swirled the open flame and nearly burnt the house down.

Maybe gardening ? I'll take care of plants to fill in the lonely void in my soul that was left by Y/N. Sounds good.

I went to bed and woke up the next day and purchased everything I needed. Some pots... soil... Y/N's favorite flowers... a watering can, and of course, almond tofu.

I get back home and immediately start preparing things. I set down the pots on the floor and carefully pour soil in each one and dig out a small hole to put the seeds in.

They look just about done so I water them and place them near the windowsill.

The rest of the day went on normally and went to bed excited to start taking care of plants.

I wake up and walk out of my room to see the pot that I had planted Y/N's favorite flower in to already have a sprout. Happened so soon but I'm not mad. It's very... cute.

I go about my day normally and notice the flower has grown more. A leaf has already shown up and upon closer inspection... it's in the shape of a heart.

Hehe... I know this sounds crazy but I'd like to think it's Y/N telling me they love me even tho we're miles apart. I smile to myself and go back to my room to sleep.

I think... I can last a few more weeks until they get back...

I'll be waiting.
