Life has slowed down for us ever since we started taking care of Qiqi. Taking care of a child is hard but taking care of an immortal zombie child is even harder... I don't regret any of my choices though.
But recently... I have felt like somethings missing... a thrill that I've been craving for a while now. Like my thirst for adventurer needs to be quenched...
It seems as if I've lost sight of my original goal. But... I'm happy where I am now. Is it really that bad to not honor a promise I made with myself ? I've been feeling uneasy thinking about this though... I feel guilty for not upholding a promise.
I have a family now, and they should always come first... but...
"Y/N. Are you okay ? Qiqi noticed you have been staring at that wall for a while now."
"Ah Qiqi ! Sorry, did you need anything ?"
"Qiqi is worried. You've been spacing out a lot lately."
"Ah it's nothing to worry about ! Quick, do you wanna play a game ?"
With a quick response, Qiqi nods her head and walks away to grab her toys. She walks back to me with a handful of her favorite toys.
"This is a goat. See if you—"
Qiqi proceeded to go into a very detailed process on how to milk a goat. How she learned this ? I don't know. Zombies are supposed to have bad memory too so how does she even remember this much ?
Oh well... at least it got my mind off of adventuring for a while...
I hear the door open and in walks the love of my life, Xiao. Qiqi quickly stands up and runs to him with her arms in the air.
"Papa Xiao."
Xiao picks her up and hugs her tight. I sit by, watching the two bond. Slightly jealous, but this isn't about me...

"Here are the groceries you asked me to buy... I still don't understand why you won't let me stay at the house alone with Qiqi..."
"Oh I don't know, but the destructive power of an immortal zombie and an ex yaksha combine is a scary thought..."
I glare at him with sarcastically mean eyes and he responds with a chuckle. He walks over to me and gives me a kiss on the forehead. He then lowers his face to my ear to whisper.
"Is something bothering you ?"
He backs away and looks at me with a worried expression. I hesitate for a second and sigh. I nod my head and I can see him flinch with fear.
"Let's talk about it after we put Qiqi to bed.."
After our short exchange, I quickly prepared dinner and ate our food swiftly. I helped Qiqi take a bath and then helped her get to bed. Having a kid is exhausting... if only I could call over Ganyu to watch over her all the time... don't wanna add more work to her plate though.
I walk back into me and Xiao's bedroom to find him already sitting on our bed. His face looks... worried...?
I sit down next to him and sigh. We both stay quiet for a bit before he eventually breaks the silence.
"If you break up with me can I at least take Qiqi ?"
"What...?"
"Oh. You're not breaking up with me...?"
"No ! Of course not... I love you too much for that."
"Oh thank god."
He wraps his arms around my neck and snuggles his head into my shoulder.
"But, it's exactly because I love you that I think you should now... I want to continue my original goal of traveling all over Teyvat."

"... What ?"
"Remember when I said I wanted to travel through all of Teyvat ? I still.... wanna do that."
"But why...? Aren't you happy here ?"
"It's not about whether or not I'm happy... it's about honoring a promise to myself... and I have been itching to get out there and explore for a while now..."
"Let me... have some time to think about this."
"Of course.."
That night, we slept facing away from each other.
That morning was awkward too. And the afternoon... and then before I knew it, it was already nighttime. I sat down on our bed and Xiao followed after, same positions as last night.
"I'm... okay with it."
I turn my head to Xiao in confusion.
"But..."
"I was just shocked about it at first. But I thought it over and if it's really what you want, I can't stop you."
I pull Xiao in to a hug but his embrace feels weaker than usual.
"I'm gonna miss you... so much.."
"I will too..."
That night we spent sleeping as close as we could get to each other. I swear I could even hear Xiao sniffle a bit.
A part of me doesn't want to leave this life behind but... I must move forward.
Things are going to change. And I'm unhappy with everything staying the same... I'll miss you two. I hope you don't forget me...

Tales From the Terran Republic
We tried, you know… We really did. We tried so hard to be… better… We actually were better once. No, seriously. We were enlightened, generous, peaceful… Stop laughing! We were! We were peaceful, dammit! No, I’m not “tugging your winglets.” It’s true! Look, if you’re going to be like that, I’ll just push the launch button right now. See ya, don’t wanna be… Oh, you ARE interested after all? Ok. Hey, I just got word that your captain will be ok. We were able to get him into a med pod quick enough… Of course, we tried to save him. Just what sort of people do you think we are?... Now that was harsh… completely accurate, mind you… but harsh. Anyway, like I was saying, we were a prosperous, peaceful people, and war had been nothing but a distant memory for over five hundred years before it happened... Before Yellowstone happened! You don’t mean to tell me that you didn’t know about that… massive supervolcano? Blew the Hell out of our planet? Two years where nothing grew?… Anyway, that’s what started it, the Sol Wars… Oh, you have heard about those, huh? Well, needless to say, all that enlightened, generous, and peaceful didn’t exactly make it through the two years of complete famine and the wars that followed… Maybe it’s more accurate to say the enlightened, generous, and peaceful among us didn’t survive… (laughs)… You’re right. It does explain a lot, doesn’t it? Probably for the best, though. “Enlightened” and “peaceful” aren’t really all that useful out here in the galaxy at large, are they? That reminds me; thanks for the ship. You guys did a great job with this one. Oh, don’t be like that. At least it was us what got you and not one of the really messed groups like the Harlequin or the Black Angels. We’re just going to take your shit. It could be worse… trust me... Well, anyway, we loaded the life pods down with some good food, and you guys can drink alcohol, right? We put in a couple of fifths in there, too. It’s about forty percent ethanol, so be warned. Most species will want to dilute that. We’ll drop your wounded off somewhere safe once they are stable. Your fleet patrols this area fairly regularly, and we’ll drop the distress beacon right before we jump… Well, It’s been fun and no hard feelings, right?… Oh, you want to know some more? Sure. I got time to kill… Let me tell you about this one pirate and her crew. They’re Terran scum, but they are still… Why do we hate the Terrans? Hoo Boy… How much time you got? *** It’s the thirty-second century, and humanity is now part of a galactic civilization comprised of hundreds of worlds. Humanity has been savaged by natural disaster and war and has been fractured into several separate populations, all of which loathe each other (some things never change). This is a gritty drama-driven rambling tale that swings between action, drama, horror, and plenty of very, very dark comedy. Warning: contains adult situations, absolutely horrible language, bathroom humor, implied ultra-violence, actual ultra-violence, drugs, alcohol, pirates, mercs, xeno prostitutes, moral ambiguity, deranged AI's with identity issues, giant commie space slugs, and a poor little frog girl who just wants to sell coffee. Updates twice weekly on Tuesday and Friday. *** Note: This story can get rough. Those warning tags? They aren't for show. I recently received a review and as a result I want to make one thing clear. Portraying something is NOT endorsing it! Many "heavy" topics are touched upon and just because a character says or does something does not imply that the author feels the same way. I selected the "Anti-Hero Lead" and "Villainous Lead" tags for a reason. Rule number one of this story is "no good guys". A good description of the story is, "bad people doing bad things to worse people". There are a few good characters, here and there, but they are the exception to the rule. If you want a hard-hitting, exciting, gritty sci-fi story that doesn't pull any punches, or shies away from "difficult" concepts, welcome! If you are set on a pure and noble knight that runs around and slays conveniently evil monsters and rescues totally innocent princesses... or your sensibilities are easily offended... You're not going to be happy with this one.

Reality's Gate: Stealing The Gifts Of The Gods
One day, earth managed to create an alternate Reality Gate. However, it malfunctioned, molding our reality with the other. In this, it became commonplace to jump between worlds, create magical wonders, destroy and create with but a whim. The biggest change though came from something that was truly unique: The "gifts" given at birth. These "Gifts" given by the gods of that reality were now bestowed upon our Reality as well. Yet, there was one person who wasn't given a gift. And in a last ditch effort of The Anomalous One to fight the gods gave him a gift since the gods wouldn't. Though it was a gift for him, it was a curse for others... This is a story about The Successor of the Ouroboros, who was given the gift of thievery, the gift of taking what the gods give to others and using it for his own purposes. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________ This is not a good guy's story. This is someone filled with hate. This is someone who wants revenge against the gods who didn't give him a gift. This. Is. The. Anti-hero. Of. Anti-heroes. Trial of Champions
It all began with a family trip to an amusement park. How were any of us to expect being transported from Earth to participate in some "Trial of Champions," whatever that was supposed to be? Given only an hour to choose the Classes that would come to define our strengths, we were almost immediately torn away from one another and thrust into a deadly game of survival. It wasn't all bad, though, as terrifying as it could be from time to time. The supernatural and magical powers of the Classes were like something out of an RPG, complete with leveling up by killing monsters and completing so-called "Sub-Trials." And despite the juicy Experience to be gained from killing other Champion Contestants, not all of the participants were bloodthirsty murderers; some could be allied with, or even befriended. Even if it seemed like everyone who had been chosen for this Trial, no matter what universe they came from, was at least a little bit crazy. I would survive this till the end, and I'd make sure that my siblings and parents did as well, no matter how many times we were separated from one another. No matter how long it took. No matter what I had to do. --- A first-person litRPG incorporating classes inspired by D&D and other sources. If you like blue boxes but don't need to have huge lists of numbers to scratch your itch, you should be satisfied on that front. Each chapter is, in my word processing document, seven pages long (approximately 3300-3900 words). The Traumatizing Content warning is there because of discussions of certain topics. Nothing that I think deserves the warning actually happens in the story.
