I wake up, desperate for warmth I turn over to Xiao to hug him but to my surprise he's not here. What kind of boyfriend leaves their partner in the bed alone... oh well, I'll just kiss him as soon I see him again.

I walk out of our room to see an old lady talking with Xiao on our dining table, I don't wanna disturb them so I'll stay in my room for now.

I slowly back up inside my room and close the door as quietly as I can.

"No need to by shy, you can come join us in our small conversation"

The old lady spoke out. I don't want to be rude so I walk outside and sit next to Xiao.

"What's your name ?"

"It's Y/N."

"What a lovely name... but anyways... Xiao, what is your connection to Y/N ?"

The whole demeanor of the old lady changed when she started talking to Xiao.

"... They're... they're my lover."

Shocked I look at Xiao, he gives me a glance telling me to not worry but... who is this lady anyways ?

"Ah I see... you just can't stay away from humans Xiao... I can't blame you though, ever since I decided to join the mortal realm once again I've gotten quite fond of the people in Liyue Harbor. I just hope that... history won't repeat itself."

The old lady looks at me.

"You're different from the others... I have high hopes for you, and please be careful, none of the adepti want to see Xiao go through such torment once again."

What does she mean ? Is she just scaring me for fun or do her words hold meaning ?

"With that said, the Rite of Descension is tomorrow. And lately... I've been sensing a change in Rex Lapis' feelings towards Liyue. I want you to be prepared for anything that could happen, if any of us could change Rex Lapis' mind... it would be you."

After that the old lady said goodbye and left. Why did she let me hear all of that ? This seems like confidential information and yet she allowed me to hear everything...

I can only fear what is to come.

"Do you wanna go on a date ?"

I turn around to see Xiao ask me the question. Gosh I haven't even had breakfast yet and I'm already getting attacked by Xiao.

"Yes ! Or did that sound too enthusiastic— uhm... yeah I wanna go on a date with you but let's have breakfast first."

Suddenly, I hear a knock on the door.

I open it to find Xingqiu standing at my doorstep.

"My liege, as an apology for all the trouble that my guild mates have caused you, please accept this humble gift of 5 million mora."

5 million ?!??!?

"I-I uh... I appreciate the offer but it's not really needed—"

"No need to be modest my liege, this apology is only right so please take it."

He hands me the bags full of mora with a wide grin. Almost too wide. But I still humbly accept. I have been running low on mora so this will come in handy...

I say my farewells to Xingqiu and I come back inside. I give Xiao a kiss on the lips cuz I'm just so excited— we're not poor anymore !

I cook us breakfast and Xiao immediately cleans the dishes and the entire house so that we can get on with our date... I wanted to stall for as long as I can but I guess he's very adamant about taking me on a date.

Before I finished cleaning the dishes Xiao told me to give him 30 minutes to prepare. I gave him a small portion of our mora for the date preparations.

I continued happily lounging around the house, exercising and almost setting the house on fire with my Pyro vision.

After 30 minutes Xiao came back and told me to follow him. We walked outside of the harbor and went into a secluded area.

"Ride me."

"Uh Xiao—"

"What ? Get on my back so I can take you to the spot I prepared."

"Ah so you meant ride you as in... piggyback ride. Okay."

Xiao kneels down I carefully climb on his back and wrap my arms around his neck. After I tell him I'm ready, we zoom off back into Jueyun Karst. We go to the very top of Qingyun Peak and he lays me down next to a shining mechanism.

"Wait here."

I nod as Xiao disappears into a flash. After a few minutes I see a light shine onto the mechanism. I look at the source to see Xiao standing next to a bird statue. He waved at me and I wave back before he dashes off again.

I wait for a while, very conscious of where I was sitting since I don't think I could survive a fall from this mountain.

Xiao comes back and suddenly an up current appears along with some platforms to land on. Xiao didn't need to glide though so he just picked me up bridal style and dashed onto the platform.

When we got to the top there was a small seating area for us.

"This place was made by Cloud Retainer, and she let us use it. She even went through the trouble of making another connected island for our picnic."

"Oh so we're having a picnic ?"

"......... Forget I said anything and act surprised when we get there."

I chuckle at his embarrassment "Sure sure."

Xiao steps on a rock near the edge of the island and suddenly a light bridge emerges from the ground leading to another island with our little picnic set up on.

"Uh Xiao... are you sure I can step on this without falling ?"

"Of course, love, or would you like me to carry you again ?"

"Carry please."

"Hehe, anything for you, dear."

He smiles at me and rests his forehead against mine. Giving a small kiss oh the top of my head before carrying me over the light bridge and setting me down on a picnic blanket.

"Wow a picnic ?! I never expected this ! I love it Xiao."

He smiles at me.

"Thanks for pretending at least, and I'm glad you love it, I wasn't sure if you'd enjoy it and I only want you to have the best."

"Don't worry, it's great ! Kinda chilly up here though and I might fall off..."

Suddenly guard rails appear on the side of the island and I hear Cloud Retainers voice say

"One has got you, homie . . . . . Did one use the word homie correctly ?"

"Yes, yes you did."

"One is pleased. One has been studying human slang so one is very happy to have understood some of this outlandish slang."

"Hehe, whatever you slay Cloud Retainer."

"One wishes the both of you enjoy your date. One must leave now. Goodbye."

"Thanks Cloud Retainer !"

Xiao opens up a bag next to him and hands me a blanket.

"Here."

I take it and drape it over my body.

"Smells like Xiao..."

"... Thanks ?"

"I didn't mean to say that out loud."

Xiao chuckles and after a few more minutes of talking and laughing we eat the food Xiao bought us. There was a moment where we just stared into each other's eyes and lemme tell you, it was absolutely magical.

This day feels so special. And I'm glad to have spent it with Xiao. This man has made me the happiest I have ever been in my life.

Well, he's also made me feel the saddest in my life but HAPPINESS OVERPOWERS SADNESS.

We talk for a while more as we eat and we're both enjoying ourselves. Eventually, the sun started to set and Xiao decided to get under the blanket with me. I rest my head on his shoulder as the sun slowly sets.

When the sun is no longer visible and the moon was hanging above our heads, candles lit up around our picnic table and I hear Xiao whisper.

"That was my idea I told Cloud Retainer to implement."

He looked so proud of himself... like, how could I not kiss him ?

So I went closer to his face and he closed the gap between us, locking our lips together in a swift motion.

After a while we backed away from each other, both of our faces burning red with passion and love.

We decide it was about time to go home so we cleaned up and Xiao dashed back to the harbor with me in his hands.

We went inside our house and left our things by the door step, completely exhausted we ran into the bedroom and I flopped face down on to the bed.

I turned over to se Xiao above me, hands and legs on either side of my body.

"I love you."

He leans down and kisses me before getting off of me and falling asleep.

"Goodnight, sweet prince."
