《Only you can make me feel better... (Calamity x Drift)》Chapter 30: Are we too late or not?

After walking, we arrived at the area. Dire said and started searching around. I showed everyone the part that we're searching for now. Everyone nodded as they understood and spread out to go searching. While I was searching, I was lost in my thoughts. I had big hopes that these 5 friends would return to their normal human forms, and then that they could help us find that plant. I can't wait to be on the plain, back to Fortnite Island with the plant in my hands. Calamity will finally wake up then. There will be no more weird spell anymore that could stand in our way, thank god. But then something else popped in my head. Who the hell put that ingredient in the potion that Plague was making so that someone would fall into an eternal sleep? Who would do such thing? I swear, if I find that person, I will kill him or her without any hesitations. I will-
Brandon yelled, pulling me out of my thoughts. My head shot towards Brandon and I saw he was on his knees, looking at something on the ground. I walked to him and looked at what he was looking. I saw something silver in the ground, a little shiny. I picked it up, dusting the dirt off and inspected it. I said with joy and showed it to everyone. Everyone got excited because the first part was found. I said with confidence and everyone cheered.
I grew tired of searching but I kept my strength. This was the last part and then we were done. We were at a certain area, searching around for a good 30 minuted but no luck for the last part. Dire complained. Nathan suggested. Dire nodded and sniffed while walking towards the strong scented spot. It was next to a mountain. Dire asked while standing there dumb folded. Then something caught my attention. I said and slowly walked to the mountain and quickly noticed it was a cave entrance, but blocked with rocks. I said. Ryan said with confidence.
Me and Dire started removing the heavy rocks, while the 5 others stood there, since they couldn't do anything because they were ghosts. It was a hell of a job but we finally managed to remove all rocks, and revealed a big entrance. We all walked inside and looked around in awe. It was a spacious cave with rocks/crystals which illuminated the cave, and gave it an amazing look. The ground was just like every cave from stone but there were a few grass patches... Small flowers or mushrooms were grown on those grass patches. Scott mumbled. Ryan said and looking around. Dire said with excitement. He the ran deeper in the cave, with us following him behind. He then stopped and picked something up but I couldn't see what it was. He then held the object up like a prize. It was the last part! We all gasped as we saw Dire was holding it up in the air. I yelled, with my voice echoing through the cave. Ryan said. Me and Dire turned around and we both gasped, because we were shocked to see...
The Caladium plant....
I mumbled. I could not believe my eyes. The plant was right in front of me! I walked towards the plant and wanted to grab it, but Ryan stopped me. He yelled. I turned around to face Ryan. Ryan said. Dire asked. Ryan said seriously. Me and Dire nodded in agreement. Dire suggested. Nathan said. And then we left the cave, on our way to the house.

We arrived back home and were at the main floor. Dire had turned back to his normal form. I asked. Scott instructed. I nodded and grabbed all the 5 parts. Dire had the zapotron so he placed it on the floor, while we were circled around it. I placed the parts right next to the zapotron and just waited and waited. Brandon mumbled. We all watched the zapotron and the 5 parts, waiting for what was gonna happen. Just then, the zapotron and the parts got a orange glow around them. They were lifted in the air as the parts slowly circled around the zapotron, but circling faster as every second passed. I was watching the scene in awe. I just could not believe my eyes. The parts then just sort of went inside the zapotron and the glow got brighter, causing us all to cover our eyes. A few seconds later, the bright glow was gone, so I removed my arm from my eyes, and so did the others. The zapotron was still floating in the air but it looked different. As if it was complete now and it was though! The weapon was floating towards me, as if it wanted me to hold it. So I grabbed it when it was close.
Dennis said while Dennis, Ryan, Scott, Nathan and Brandon were gathering and now stood next to each other. Dire asked with a worried face. Scott said with a reassuring face. I nodded and took a deep breath. I said and pulled the trigger, firing a sort of laser beam. It hit the boys and then covered them like vines. Me and Dire were just shocked that this was working. After 10 seconds or so, I removed my finger from the trigger, stopping the laser beam. The sort of laser vines disappeared and revealed the boys. But they weren't ghosts anymore. They were humans again!
Dennis said smiling while poking Nathan in his arm. Nathan just chuckled. Ryan said smiling. I said with a happy voice. Ryan asked chuckling. Dire said with a smile. Suddenly, sun shine hit through the windows and sounds of chirping birds were able to be heard. We all walked outside and saw that the forest wasn't as dark as it was before. Now it looked like a beautiful and peaceful forest, perfect for a 1 week vacation. Dennis said sarcastically, which made us all laugh. Ryan said as he put a hand on my shoulder. I said smiling. Then, the 5 boys left the house, off to their own house.
I turned to Dire and looked at him with a serious face expression. I said. Dire nodded and we went inside again to our rooms. I grabbed my bag and put everything in it. I looked back in the room to see if there was anything left, but there was nothing. I left the room closing the door. Just then, Dire also left his room with his bag in his hand. He asked seriously and I nodded. We walked downstairs and left the house, towards the cave.
The walk to the cave was silent. But we at least arrived. We entered the breath taking cave, looking around again in awe. The Caladium plant was in sight. I bent over and was about to pluck the plant. I took a glance at Dire and he just nodded. I took a deep breath and plucked the plant. Me and Dire quickly started running and left the cave. We ran towards the exit of the forest, towards the ATK that we left there. We couldn't lose 1 second. We need to bring this plant to Plague as quickly as possible.

We made it to the ATK and Dire sat at the drivers seat. He started the car and started driving towards the airport. On the way, I send John a text message, telling him that we got the plant and we're on our way to the airport. He texted me back, telling me that the second we arrive, we have to give the plant to Plague. I sent an 'okay' and put my phone back in my pocket, staring at the plant. Dire said. That quickly? Wow guess I was staring at the plant a little too long. Whatever. As soon as we parked, we grabbed our stuff and entered the airport. To our luck, there was a flight to Fortnite Island, taking off in 30 minutes. So we quickly checked in and waited until the gate opened. In 15 minutes, the gate opened and we boarded on the plane.
After flying 3 and a half hour, we finally arrived on the Fortnite Island. We grabbed our bags and called a taxi. He asked. Dire replied nicely. The driver confirmed and started driving. Thank god this guy was driving fast, even though we didn't ask. But I didn't mind at all, because we we're already in a rush.
After the quick ride, we arrived at Salty Springs. I paid the driver 20 v-bucks and then he drove away. Me and Dire walked to Plague's house and banged on his door. I heard Plague yell. Then the door opened and Plague revealed him self. He yelled at the end when he saw the plant in my hand. Dire said smiling. Plague said and let us in. When we entered the lab, I handed him the plant and he grabbed it, going to the lab counter and started doing his work. Plague said while grabbing some other stuff.
I asked as I noticed he was a little panicky. Plague said. Plant is about to what? Did he say... die?? No... no no no no. Dire whispered and guided me back upstairs to the living room. I sat on the sofa and just stared in front of me. Dire asked worried while sitting next to me. I said and rested my elbows on my knees, and my face in my hands. Dire said while putting a hand on my shoulder. Dire said. I removed my face from my hands and nodded. I noticed a tear was rolling down my cheek but I wiped it away and tried to forget the bad thoughts.
Plague came running up the stairs with a small bottle in his hand, panting. In the bottle was a pink purplish liquid. Plague quickly explained and handed me the bottle. I said and stood up, walking to the door with Dire with behind. Plague said in a rushing tone. I nodded and then left the house with Dire. We called another taxi and it arrived in just a few minutes. The driver asked. I said. The driver said and started driving quickly.
The driver was driving pretty fast so we arrived in front of our house in 10 minutes. This time Dire paid the driver. Me and Dire rushed to the door and I unlocked it with my keys. When I opened the door, I walked inside with Dire behind me. Raptor and Brite were on the couch, cuddling with each other, but their heads shot up towards us as soon as they heard us. Raptor said surprised. I said showing it tot hem. Brite said smiling. I asked them just to be sure. Brite explained. I nodded and speed walked upstairs. Dire, Brite and Raptor were following me from behind.
I opened the door and indeed saw Calamity laying on our bed, with her eyes closed and her hands rested on her stomach. I quickly walked over to her and sat on my knees on the ground. I removed the cork of the small bottle and quickly brought the bottle close to her nose. I could see a slight smoke, which was probably the scent, leaving the bottle. Dire, Brite and Raptor were standing on the other side of the bed, watching while looking really nervous. But I was nervous and scared at the same time because the effect of the plant was about to be over. At least that's what Plague said. I whispered. I was still holding the bottle close to her nose, but the small smoke thingy already disappeared. I was getting even more nervous, which caused my breathing to get a little shaky.
Why did that smoke disappear? How much longer do I have to hold it? Please don't tell me that it was too late. Waiting... Waiting... And waiting... But nothing... I was holding the bottle close to her nose for about 30 seconds now, so I thought it was enough. I put the bottle on the night stand and put the cork on it. Maybe she will wake up now?... I put my right hand on her hands, which were rested on her stomach, and my left hand just on the bed. Brite asked nervously. Dire said. I asked looking at Dire, but he remained silent and just gave me a sad look. I yelled, causing Dire to slightly jump and I could see a tear forming in his eye. I looked back at Calamity, but saw no sign of waking up. I put my left hand on her right cheek, caressing it. I said softly while letting more tears escape. Nothing. Just nothing... No movement, no eyes that were opening. Just nothing... We waited for another 30 seconds but then... Then I just realized. I whispered in disbelief. I looked up to Dire, who had tears in his eyes. Then to Raptor, who had Brite embraced, while Brite was sobbing.
I whispered.

8 209Cary Simms: The Fairy Mushroom Forest
From a young age, Cary Simms knew that she wasn't like the other boys her age. She didn't know why or how that was, but it seemed apparent to the bullies of her school. They would often call her names, chase after her after school, and beat her up when they could catch her. Her only protection, besides escape, was in the words of the Good Book. But that was before she stumbled into the supposedly haunted house at the end of her street. When a mysterious ring and a drawing on the back wall of the post office opened up a whole new world for her, things quickly went from weird to scary. At a new school, in a new world, surrounded by people who had access to magic, all Cary could think of was how to escape the witches that had her trapped there. It was only having her best friend by her side that gave her any comfort at all. ***This is my first attempt at a middle grade book, and would appreciate feedback. Please note, this is a second draft, and might not represent the final product.***
