《Only you can make me feel better... (Calamity x Drift)》Chapter 27: The journey begins

I felt my heart sank down to the deepest part of the ocean. I didn't know how to react. I asked nervously. Plague nodded and looked down. With wide eyes I turned my head to Calamity, who was still sleeping peacefully with her hands over her stomach. I sank back in my chair with slight wide eyes. I asked softly with tears in my eyes while turning my head back to Plague. Plague said but stopped. I asked, hoping that he was going to say that there was still hope. Plague explained.
I said with hope in my voice. Plague said. I said slightly raising my voice. Plague said. I said with my hand pointing at Calamity. I lowered my hand again and took a deep breath. I pleaded with tears in my eyes now. Plague looked at me for a moment and then gave me a small piece of paper.
I looked at it and saw a picture of a sort of plant. It was sort of white and had a hint of lime green with hot pink stripes on it. I looked at Plague confused, with a frown on my face and he quickly noticed it. Plague said. I asked curiously. Plague sighed and opened his mouth to talk. Plague explained.
I said sounding strong and fearless. Plague said. I said with confidence. I asked wondering who would do such thing. Plague explained. I said furiously but tried to calm myself down. Plague nodded and put a hand on my shoulder. Plague said and I nodded in agreement. He said and left the room.
I looked at the clock hanging on the wall and saw it was 17:20. I think I should go home and tell the team, then go to sleep early, since I need to leave early in the morning. I stood up from my chair and looked at Calamity. I said softly and held back a tear. I gave Calamity a soft kiss on her lips and broke it after a few seconds. I then left her room, closing the door behind me and left the hospital.

As I was walking towards the HQ, I pulled out my phone and sent a message to the group chat and told everyone to get to the HQ now because of an emergency. Everyone replied quickly and said that they would be on their way. I put my phone back in my pocket and kept on walking and walking until I made it to the HQ.
I arrived and went downstairs to the meeting room. I saw Raptor and Brite had already arrived. I said and they greeted me back. I took a seat and waited for the rest of the team to arrive. After a few minutes, everyone was gathered. John asked, taking his seat at the 'boss chair'. I fiddled with my fingers, taking a deep breath and letting it out. I began. Brite yelled in shock with wide eyes, slamming her hands on the table. Everyone else was as shocked as Brite was. I nodded looking down. I continued. Technique asked. I said.
John said. I said with a serious tone. John looked at the table and took a deep breath, exhaling after it. John said calmly, looking at me. I nodded and looked around at the table and my eyes landed on someone. I said calmly. Dire said with a smile. I smiled back and was happy that he wanted to help along. I said and everyone left, but before Dire could leave, I grabbed his arm and he turned around. I said. He said and left. I also left the HQ and went towards my house.
I arrived and went inside and closed the door behind me. I didn't see Raptor and Brite downstairs so I assumed they were in their room. I walked upstairs in my room and closed the door. I changed into my pajamas and went into the bathroom to take a shower and brush my teeth. After my night routine, I left the bathroom and grabbed everything I need for tomorrow such as snacks, guns, ammo, a map and the picture of the plant and some more stuff. I was done with packing my bag and wanted to get in bed, but something caught my eye. Calamity's coat on the sofa chair in our room...

I went around the bed to the sofa chair and picked her coat up. I pressed it against my nose and inhaled the beautiful scent that she had. I slightly started to sob as tears were leaving my eyes and slowly sat on the bed. I missed her so much, it just feels like I'm losing her. It's like every single day that passes, another piece of my heart breaks and just falls into darkness. It is a horrible feeling. I laid down on bed, still holding her coat close to me, as if I was hugging Calamity. I let more tears escape until I just cried myself to sleep.
I woke up by the sound of my alarm of my phone. Before I could even grab my phone to turn it off, the alarm was turned off by... its self? I got confused and parted my eyes, letting the sunshine hit my eyes from the sun that just came up. I covered my sight with my hand and managed to open my eyes more, since I blocked the sunlight. Just then, someone just came right in front of me, sitting on the bed. A girl voice said. But that voice was sooo familiar. Wait... That voice. I only know one girl with a southern accent like that. But it couldn't be...
I removed my hand from my face and was met by Calamity's face who was smiling and was close to my face. I asked softly but with wide eyes. She said and giggled. I asked confused yet happy to see her again. She said softly. I just smiled and sat up right, which caused Calamity to back up because she was close to my face. I said softly. Calamity smiled and was getting closer and closer to my face and gently put her hand on my cheek. I was closing my eyes and waiting for the moment that she would kiss me. I could feel that she was only millimeters away from my lips and right about when I could feel that we were just about to kiss, I heard my alarm... again...?
I shot my eyes open and jolted up, panting. I looked around and saw no one. I grabbed my phone and turned the alarm off. I just realized it was another dream, just like last time. I sighed and let a tear escape. I noticed I was still holding Calamity's coat. I stood up from bed and neatly put her coat in the closet. I put on my clothes (last stage) and went downstairs. I walked to the kitchen to get breakfast and saw Brite was at the fridge. I asked confused and took my kitsune mask off. She said looking down. I asked, of course me being curious about those thoughts that she had. I could see that her lip was trembling a little because she was about to cry.
She said and let the tears roll down her cheeks. I pulled her into a hug, rubbing her back gently. I said and broke the hug. She said with a weak smile, grabbing the water bottle from the fridge. I said with a smile back. Brite walked back upstairs into her room where she and Raptor were sleeping, and closed the door behind her. I opened the fridge and grabbed some left over pancakes and warmed them up in the microwave. After I finished eating my pancakes, it was 5:55 so it was time to pick up Dire. I put my kitsune mask back on, grabbed my backpack and walked to the door.
I left the house with my backpack on my back, towards the main house. I knocked on the door and waited. Dire opened the door in a few seconds and I saw he also had a backpack. I asked.Dire said with a serious voice tone. Dire closed the door behind him and we started walking towards Frosty flight to take the flight to Baracuma. Calamity... I am willing to do anything now in that creepy forest and risk my life just to get that one leaf... for you...

The Tears of Kas̆dael
It was just supposed to be a game. A really, really great game, yes - but a game. Instead, Jasper got his heart ripped out by a brooding goddess and awoke to find himself in another world. No weapons, no skills. Naked. Trapped in a world full of ancient horrors, where gods and monsters still roam the earth, Jasper is forced to adapt quickly or die - and he's not ready to die. Good thing he's a mage. This is a high-fantasy novel with light LitRPG elements. It's not super-crunchy, but the system is an important part of the story. There is some light cursing and gore, but this is not a Grimdark novel. There will also be no harem. The current schedule is chapters on M-W-F of around 2000-2500 words, as well as occasional bonus chapters that provide background or insights into side characters. This is my first real attempt at writing a full novel, but the story is based on a world that I've been creating and re-creating since I was a child. I have an extensive "history" and religion, and even a semi-cohesive language system worked out, which will hopefully slowly shine through as the story progresses. I want to avoid having too many info-dumps, so I may from time to time post a bonus lore chapter that will explain some of the background for any who are interested.

Episode 2: SPAWN
A vampire was destroyed in the city of Two Rivers. Her second death points detectives Alton and Cook of the Unjust Existence Extermination Investigation Force in the direction of an agent of a foreign power, and suggests the existence of a greater vampiric plot that undermines the reputation of the city for fair treatment of living-impaired citizens. Set in the world of Manifest Destiny - a shared hombrew D&D 3.5/Pathfinder 1 campaign setting that has been in use since 2007, this is a fantasy police procedural similar in style to Law & Order. Retired player characters make cameo appearances. This work originally won NaNoWriMo in 2015, and will update every Saturday until complete.
