《Only you can make me feel better... (Calamity x Drift)》Chapter 23: The sudden urge...

I was gaining consciousness a little by little. I couldn't open my eyes, move, or talk. But I could hear my surroundings and feel that I was laying on a bed or something. I heard faint footsteps, then an opening door and then the door closed again. The footsteps were getting louder and I felt someone sit on the bed. I really wanted to open my eyes but I felt exhausted. After some time, I could feel my eye lids parting. I slowly turned my head to the right side and let a sleepy sigh out. I felt a hand on my left cheek and I opened my eyes. I saw Drift was sitting next to me on the edge of the bed. His soft brown eyes were staring at me. It felt like I haven't seen those eyes for a while.
I mumbled weakly. Drift asked worried.I replied still weakly. I slowly tried sitting up but struggled a bit. Drift quickly helped me sit up and adjusted the pillow. I now was fully aware of everything. I was our bedroom in bed with Drift next to me. I also had my usual clothes on but noticed my coat and hat were on a chair. Drift asked. I was a little shocked by that question. I asked confused, yet worried about the question.
He didn't say anything and just pulled me into a hug. I hugged him back but was confused about his behavior. Then Drift started crying and buried his face in my neck. I gently rubbed his back to sooth him. I said softly. After some time, Drift calmed down and stopped crying. Drift broke the hug and cupped my face with his hands. He then pulled me in a sweet kiss. I closed my eyes, putting my arms around his neck and kissed him back. It was so sweet, I wished this moment would never end. But sadly, Drift broke the kiss. He still had my face cupped and looked at me in my eyes.

Drift sad softly. I asked. Drift laid down next to me and I laid my head on his chest. He put one arm around my waist and with his other hand, he was going trough my hair with his fingers. Drift began asking. I said and the scene replayed in my mind.Drift started explaining. I just stayed silent and didn't know how to react. I asked nervously. Drift said. I widen my eyes and jolted up, sitting up again. I asked staring at Drift with a shocked face. Drift explained. I asked still nervously. Drift asked.
I didn't answer him and just quickly left our bedroom. I stood by the railing of the stairs and saw Brite on the couch watching TV. I ran down the stairs which caught Brite's attention. She gasped and stood up. I cut her of by hugging her. I felt her hugging me back by putting her hands on my back. I said, not letting go. Brite then broke the hug and looked at me. She asked softly. I said as I shed a tear and looked down. Brite grabbed my hands which caused me to look up again. Brite said and giggled. I smiled and hugged her again and she hugged me back. I heard Raptor say behind me. I broke the hug and turned around, seeing Drift and Raptor standing there. Brite asked with a slight glare. Raptor said walked away while whistling, as if nothing happened. Brite sighed but I just thought it was funny, so I giggled.
Brite said crossing her arms over her chest. I looked at Brite with a confused look and Brite noticed it. Brite said pointing at Drift, while he was scratching the back of his head. Drift said and walked over to the kitchen and grabbed himself a plate of freshly baked pancakes. He sat down at the dinner table and ate his pancakes. Brite said and pulled me towards the dinner table.

I sat down across Drift as Brite grabbed a plate with pancakes. She placed the plate in front of me, but noticed I had a few extra pancakes. I asked. Brite said and giggled. I gasped as the thought hopped in my mind. I asked panicky. Drift said. I slightly relaxed and nodded Brite said and walked upstairs. I was about to take a bite until she said 'my room'. I was confused and Drift noticed it. Drift asked. I asked as I had no clue. Drift chuckled but it made me more confused. Drift explained. I said smiling. Then the thought of Omega and Oblivion suddenly popped in my head. I mumbled. Drift asked smiling. I asked while playing with my food with the fork I was holding.Drift said sweetly.
While me and Drift were eating our breakfast, Drift told me eeeeverything what happened after I was taken by Omega and Oblivion. I payed close attention to the details he was telling and it gave me a guilty feeling because of all the problems I had caused.Drift finished. I just stared at my plate that I just finished. I managed to say and nothing else came out. Drift reached out with his hand and grabbed my hand, which caused me to look up in his eyes.Drift said softly and smiled. I smiled back, relaxing. Drift mentioned. Oblivion did tell me the reason, but I'm sort of scared to tell Drift.
I said. Drift said.I mumbled under my breath looking down, in the hope Drift wouldn't hear it but... He did. Drift asked. I looked up and had an uneasy look on my face. I said quietly. Drift asked curiously. I just stayed silent, not daring to tell him. Drift asked suspiciously. I bit my lower lip as I got a little anxious. Drift rubbed my hand. Drift said. I gathered some confidence and tried telling him. I was stuttering so much I couldn't even talk.
Drift stood up and sat down on the chair that was next to me. He put his hand on my arm and looked at me. Drift said softly. I looked down to take a moment and took a deep breath. I exhaled and looked up to Drift. He was waiting until I was going to say something. I finally said. It sort of felt good to let it out. Drift was speechless. He looked surprised. I was waiting for the moment that he would judge me for this. But instead, I felt his hand that was on my shoulder, was now on my cheek. Drift said as he chuckled. I giggled and was relieved he was reacting in a good way. He asked.

Would this new life be a curse or could she transform it into a blessing? This novel has a Level System with missions and a system but there will be no overpowerdness but constant growth.
