《Only you can make me feel better... (Calamity x Drift)》Chapter 5: Awaking from a terrible nightmare

I woke up by the sound of chirping birds. I parted my eyes and looked down to see I was still holding Calamity in an embrace, who was sleeping peacefully. She looked super cute when she was asleep. I quietly and gently got out of bed, making sure she wouldn't wake up. I grabbed my phone from the nightstand and saw it was 9:42. I walked to the bathroom and washed my face. I then made my way downstairs and saw Deadfire setting the table for breakfast.
I yawned. He asked as he placed down the plates. I said with a sort of confident face. He asked. I said, thinking about yesterday. Deadfire suggested. I said with a thinking face. Deadfire went over to the kitchen and grabbed a modern greyish breakfast tray. He put a plate on it with eating utensils and a glass with orange juice.
I proposed. He said and he grabbed the ingredients to make pancakes and placed them on the kitchen counter. I started mixing the ingredients together as Deadfire started talking again. Deadfire mentioned. I started blushing madly and turned my head towards him. I explained. Deadfire chuckled and nodded. I started making the pancakes by pouring a little bit of the mixture in the pancake pan and letting it cook. When I finished cooking all pancakes, I put a few on Deadfire's, Calamity's plate. And then I put a few on my plate.
Deadfire said. I said as I placed the plate with pancakes on the breakfast tray. Deadfire said with a sad face. I said putting a hand on his shoulder. Deadfire said with a smile. I said smiling back.
For the finishing touch I grabbed some raspberries and blueberries I saw laying in a bowl, which was standing on the island counter of the kitchen. I put the berries around the pancakes. Then I grabbed whipped cream, which I assumed was in the fridge and I was right about that. I put some whipped cream on top of the pancakes and some more berries. Now it was complete. Delicious pancakes and some orange juice.
I picked up the breakfast tray and walked back upstairs to Calamity's room. I opened the door and saw she was still asleep. I closed the door again and went to her desk and placed the breakfast tray on it. As I was walking towards the bed I noticed she was breathing a little heavy. I got closer and saw she was sweating and had a few tears leaving her eyes. Was she having a nightmare? I said softly putting a hand on her shoulder. She wasn't waking up and got worried. I shaked her a bit more and put my other hand on her cheek. Oh jeez, her face was heating up... She started breathing more heavier and soft cry noises escaped her lips. The only thing I could think about now is waking her up from the nightmare she is having. I pleased. When I caressed her cheek, Calamity slowly parted her eyes and all of a sudden quickly slapped my hand away and jolted up. She yelled in terror.

I woke up and saw I was in... In the room where I was held captive when Rodas kidnapped me. It was literally the same room. I noticed I was tied up to that chair again and felt anxiety hit me. I looked around and locked my gaze on the door. It was slowly opening... I slightly started to panic and looked around me again to see if there was a way out. My breathing got heavier as I noticed there was no way out and the door was almost opened all the way. I looked at the door and saw Rodas... The man who lied to me and gave me a trauma. The man who disappeared a long time ago. The man who killed my parents and tried to take me away again. He just stood still at the door, looking at me. It made me get even more scared. The way he looked at me with that smirk on his face. Then he slowly started making his way towards me. I asked with a scared voice. He didn't answer me and just continued walking towards me.
When he was in front of me, he sat on my lap facing me. This instantly reminded me of what happened 2 years ago. Because I didn't have my bandanna on, he roughly crashed his lips on mine. As a reaction I shut my eyes and gasped. I tried to close my mouth again as soon as possible, but I was too late. His tongue already slipped in my mouth and started exploring every corner. I tried screaming but only muffled screams were heard. Rodas grunted and started to rub my upper leg and then my inner thigh with one hand.Calamity, wake up." I heard a voice. Wait... I recognize that voice! I tried to struggle and squirm from his grip but it was no use. Then Rodas used his other hand to hold my cheek so that I wouldn't turn my head around. My breathing got heavier and I started crying slightly. Rodas then squeezed my inner thigh which caused me to gasp a little.
"Cal, please wake up. C'mon!" I heard the same voice again. Even though I recognized this voice, I still couldn't figure out who it was. Rodas started to caress my cheek and then all of a sudden, I felt like I wasn't tied up anymore. I also didn't feel his lips on mine. I slightly opened my eyes and with a blurry vision, I saw someone was sitting in front of me and caressing my cheek. I wasn't tied up anymore, so I quickly slapped the hand away and jolted up. I yelled like I was dying. I looked up in terror to expect seeing Rodas, but I didn't see him. Instead, I saw Drift. He looked at me with a extremely worried face. I also saw he was slightly shocked because of what I just did. I noticed I was in bed and that it was a traumatized nightmare...

When she finally woke up, her eyes widened and saw it was me. I looked at her extremely worried and a bit shocked of what she just did. She was breathing super heavy by now. Then she bursted into tears. I said and pulled her into a comforting hug. She hugged me back by tightly securing her hands around my waist and burying her head in my neck. I rubbed her back. She said between her cry's. I didn't want to pronounce his name. I just didn't care and gave her a kiss on her forehead, which she surprisingly liked and calmed down a little. I said with a soothing voice, as I rubbed her back a little more. She calmed down some more and I only heard small sniffs.
I wanted to break the hug to see her face but she insisted and hugged me tighter. I said softly and she let go of me. I cupped her face and looked at her. I said comforting. She said looking at me, slightly sobbing. I grabbed her hands and held them. I said reassuring with a smile. She gave me a weak smile and looked down. I said with a happy voice and put my hands in the air to cheer her up. She looked up again and laughed a little because of my action. She said smiling the way I liked to see her smile. I said and then chuckling a little. She laughed again and stood up.
She walked towards her bathroom and locked it. I assumed she would take a shower so I figured I'd go downstairs. When I exited the room and took the stairs, I saw deadfire eating his last pancake while he was on his laptop, looking at something very concentrated. I walked towards my own plate which was across Deadfire. I asked as I sat down and started eating my first pancake. He asked. I said a little low. Deadfire noticed it and looked up to me. He asked getting curious. I said looking at Deadfire. Deadfire sighed and had a sad expression on his face. He asked concerned. I said reassuring him. He just nodded and blankly stared at the table. I noticed he was still worried. I said with a small smile. Deadfire looked at me again and gave me a small smile. He looked down at his laptop again and continued working on whatever he was doing.
I finished my last pancake and put Deadfire's and my plate in the dishwasher. I walked up stairs and knocked on Calamity's door. I asked politely. I heard her say. I opened the door and saw she was just walking out of her closet. She wore the same pajamas but then slightly other colors. I said like a butler and with my hand, I gestured her to the bed. She laughed a bit and got in bed, pulled the blanket over her and sat up straight. I walked to her desk and picked up the breakfast tray and brought it to her. I said as I placed the tray on her lap. She looked at it in awe and then looked at me. She asked surprised. I said sounding pretty confident. She said with a bright smile. I loved her smile so much. I returned a smile. I said and she started eating.

I wasn't adding anything more to it, so might as well just release it. Learn from the experience, you know? Leave any criticism behind, while I may not be a professional nor plan on becoming one, I still am unfortunately a perfectionist. Oh, and tell me what you liked. So I know what I did well. The Eternal Vigil
The year is 2220, a time when governments and nation-states are slowly becoming a thing of the past. Instead, all prominent parts of human society are now organizing around the commands of three great Artificial Intelligences, owned and operated by the world's largest corporation. World peace has been achieved, and the very word 'politics' has disappeared from people's lips. Religion has largely disappeared, replaced in some parts by worshipping of the great AIs, but mostly substituted by a devotion to material goods and faith in the market. There is now a general consensus that the best form of government has been found. No, it is not democracy, nor is it autocracy or oligarchy. Instead, it is technocracy - rule by the learned, the intelligent, and the skilled. And who are more learned, intelligent, and skilled than the great AIs? Exactly, no one. The AIs will correct some market failures once in a while, but shall otherwise let the market be free. After all, the freer the market, the freer the people. Some may question how society advanced to this stage, but that is all they will do - question. Because they will not find answers, for history is no longer taught anywhere. After all, it is not a practical subject. One cannot get a decently paying job with a history degree. Society doesn't have any time for people to idly ponder about the past. No, this is a practical society of practical people: engineers, doctors, lawyers, developers, managers, bankers, soldiers, and the such. My name is Aiden Scivit and I used to be one such practical man: minding my own business, doing my job, with the faith that hard work will always be rewarded by the market...and that politics and philosophy were things thought of by idly people who leech off society. But this all changed, and here is my story, my history. Just because the stories of ages long past have been erased, does not mean that a brand new beginning cannot be created. The story is already finished but I still need to do some editing so a chapter should be released each day for a month. It is a bit political, as you can probably tell by the introduction, so there is that (it will low-key read like a philosophy dump 10% of the time, so really it's like Atlas Shrugged but liberal and worse lol). Also, I actually wrote this in grade 10 as part of my MYP Personal Project, and recently touched up on it for online publication. Finally, if you find the writing style passable and are interested in my other works, check out the one in the link below. It is a fantasy set in the Ancient Greek world, and is completed and uploaded in full: https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/35099/the-oresteia-modernized
