《Only you can make me feel better... (Calamity x Drift)》Chapter 3: Not a nice voice to hear again

I was having a blast at the block with a few random people I just met here. I know it sounds childish, but we played Hide & Seek. It's fun to do because this place is perfect made for Hide & Seek. When me and the 3 dudes were taking a break, I felt my phone buzz. I answered my phone I heard John say. I asked. John explained. I said. I started going to the location when John told me the location.
Its was about a 10 minute walk to that area. When I was almost there, I saw a man looking pretty scared. I decided to go ask him about this situation. I asked nicely. He explained to me with a sad and scared face. I said as I put a hand on his shoulder. I continued walking to the exact location. There was a small hill in front of me. I decided to walk up there to see better. As I got up the hill, I looked around me and froze when I saw something terrible. I saw a man hugging Calamity from behind. But it wasn't a normal hug... I got a little bit closer and noticed he was holding her with one arm around her arms and waist, and with his right hand, he was holding a cloth on her mouth and nose. I felt hurt seeing her in this situation as she was crying, begging for help . Eventually, Calamity stopped struggling and fell in the man his arms, as he started carrying her away. I got furious and pulled out my handcanon. I aimed at his head and...
Perfect headshot. As he fell on the ground, he dropped Calamity as well. I ran as fast as I could and got on my knees next to Calamity, who was unconscious. With my right hand I cupped her left cheek and with my left hand I tried to shake her awake. She wasn't waking up. I got worried and looked over at the man. That bastard... I was really angry by now. I stood up and walked over to the man. I got on my knees and saw he was definitely dead because of the headshot.

I searched the pockets of the jacket he was wearing and felt a small glass bottle. I pulled out the bottle from his pocket with some liquid inside of it and inspected it. 'chloroform'. I red the description and it said that a person should wake up after 15-30 minutes. But it could also be even longer... I hope this bastard didn't keep this cloth on her face for too long. Otherwise she would wake up like 1 or 2 hours later.
I pulled out my phone and called John wick. I said. John asked. I explained looking at the dead body. John asked concerned. I said when I looked at Calamity with a worried face. John said and heard a beep sound, telling me John hang up. I stood up and looked at the body. I spat on him. I didn't bother taking of his mask to see who it was, and just picked Calamity up bridal style and started walking towards her house in Paradise. I wondered what she was doing here alone.
As 20 minutes passed, Calamity was still unconscious. I was getting worried. I think she inhaled a little bit more like the description of the bottle said. Suddenly I heard a light moan coming from Calamity. She was waking up! She slightly turned her head and slowly opened her eyes. She noticed me carrying her, but was still not 100% conscious. Her eyes also weren't fully open.
I stopped walking and sat on the grass. I also placed Calamity on the floor but with my right hand still around her back. I gently placed my left hand on her cheek. I was so glad she was awake. I asked with a soft worried voice. She responded with a sleepy voice and slightly closed eyes. I could tell she indeed was feeling sleepy. I said with a reassuring voice. I picked her up again and carried her bridal style. I looked down and saw she was unconscious again this quickly. She really needs to rest. I also think the chloroform was pretty strong, which may cause her to be unconscious for a longer time.

After some more walking. I finally reached her house. it was hard knocking on the door since I was carrying Calamity but I still managed to knock on the door. After a few seconds, the door opened and saw Deadfire standing there. His face expression immediately changed to a extremely worried face. Deadfire yelled super worried. I said calmly. Deadfire let me walk inside. I followed Deadfire upstairs to her room.
We reached her door and Deadfire opened the door and let me in. I walked in and Deadfire walking in after me. Her room was pretty big. There were 2 other doors. I suppose those are the bathroom and walk-in closet or something. Deadfire pulled the blanket up and I placed Calamity on the bed. He put the blanket back on her body. And there she laid. So peacefully with her eyes closed, her hands over the blanket, on her stomach. I sat next to Calamity on the bed. Deadfire stood in front of me, looking at Calamity worried. Deadfire said with sadness in his voice looking at her. I saw a tear escape his eye. I said trying to calm him.Deadfire asked still sad but also curious.
I explained everything about her almost being kidnapped and the dead body. After I explained everything, I told Deadfire he could go downstairs and keep on working with whatever he was busy, and I would take care of Calamity. He agreed and went downstairs.
I was holding one of Calamity's hands and with my other hand I was holding my phone and sending a message to Sunstrider telling her I would come home tomorrow in the afternoon because I was taking care of Calamity. When I was about to send the message, I felt Calamity's hand twitch a little. I immediately send the message to Sunny, put my phone away and turned to Calamity. She was slowly opening her eyes. I asked wit a soft voice. She turned her head slightly to my direction. Her eyes were slightly more open than before. She said with a soft, yet weak voice. I loved her voice tho , so cute and sweet... and angel... WHAIT WHAT AM I SAYING! I shaked the thoughts away and turned my attention to Calamity's condition. I asked with a slight smile. She said smiling to me. I returned a bigger smile and went downstairs to the kitchen.
When I walked off the stairs I saw Deadfire at the dining table on his laptop. Isaid while walking into the kitchen getting 2 paracetamols with a glass of fresh water. Deadfire jerked up from his laptop. I said as I was walking towards the stairs. Deadfire immediately stood up and followed me.
I opened Calamity's bedroom door and placed the glass of water and the 2 paracetamols on the nightstand. Deadfire walked in after me and stood next to me. I helped her to sit up and handed her the 2 paracetamols with water. She said sweetly. I said smiling a little. Deadfire asked with a concerned voice. She said reassuring Deadfire. She swallowed both of the paracetamols and drank some water after that. I grabbed the empty glass from her hand as she drank the glass empty and I placed it on her nightstand. Calamity asked.
I started explained about a man calling the SSDT, telling about the suspicious man who was about to take her, but I was just in time.
I was explaining but was cut off as I heard a phone buzz multiple times. I looked over to where it came from and I saw Calamity's phone, which was on the nightstand, was ringing. She picked up the phone and looked at the number. She said looking at me and Deadfire. Deadfire said. Calamity answered the phone and put in on speaker. Calamity asked, not knowing who was calling.

House of Wolves
“The forest grew still as the bastard sword took its' last life that night. The beast's shirt was saturated with blood and sweat, clinging to his skin after the heat of battle. Lost souls: Road to Godhood (Isekai) [Writathon Participant]
In a world where mages stand above nobles and even the law, it's not surprising that everyone wants to learn magic. Luz and his brothers are no different. However, their peaceful lives are shattered when a dragon attacks their village. Left with no choice, Luz uses a forbidden spatial spell to save his brothers. The consequences are not pretty--he and his brothers are scattered across different realms. Luz will have to travel to places unknown to reunite his family and gain enough power to take vengeance on the dragon. Armed with a single spell that he can only cast once before his magic reserves are depleted, Luz has his work cut out for him. Being the oldest is never easy. Author note: Please be warned as the book won't be what you might expect since the early chapters of my work are more of a slice of life of an MC, trying to adjust to his new life rather than slaying monsters left and right from the get-go with accelerated growth cheat and missions given by a goddamn system that forges your path, since everyone knows: an MC needs a system that tells one how to move forward. That was a long sentence. Also, some of you might consider my chapter titles as clickbaity, while others like me might consider them: not boring titles, hehehe.
