《The Fox and the Wolf》Chapter 4: Mine

The next time I woke up I smelt bacon. I quickly ran to the door and tried to open it but I couldn't. I ran back to the bed, put my front paws on Derek's shoulder and began to bark loudly. Wake up you big oaf. Finally he began to stir.
"Melody? What's going on?" He asked and I looked towards the door.
"Why didn't you just shift to open the door? I was asleep anyway." He said and I narrowed my eyes at him. You know why.
"Sorry. I'll get it." He got out of bed and opened the door. I shot through it and ran to the kitchen, jumping up on the counter and letting out a bark.
"Hello Melody." One of the women cooed as she scratched my ear. She held a piece of bacon and I quickly ate it. God this is amazing. I ate several pieces before I heard Derek calling me. I followed his scent back to the office. I poked my head through the door to see Derek sitting behind the desk.
"Hey. I need to go to the neighbouring pack to talk about our peace treaty and I'd like you to come with me." He said and I let out a happy howl.
"So you'd like to come?" He asked with a chuckle and I nodded my head.
"We'll be leaving in 10 minutes. I'll come get you." He told me. I spun around and followed Jack's scent back to his room. I nudged the door open and ran in. I jumped onto the bed and continued to jump on Jack.
"Melody! Hey girl." He said as he sat up and scratched my ear. I bit into his pyjama shirt and tried to drag him out of bed, making him chuckle.
"Ok, ok. I'll play, let's go." He got out of bed and we ran downstairs. I saw him grab something but I didn't pay much attention to it. As soon as we got to the lounge room a little red dot appeared on the floor and I was mesmerised. It moved and my head followed it. I tried to catch it but I missed. I'm not sure how long I chased the blasted dot but Derek came down and laughed when he saw me.
"Come on, Melody." He chuckled. I discarded the dot and followed Derek out the door. We walked to the edge of the border and he began to strip down. He shifted into his wolf and the morning sun made him look magnificent. I knew I wouldn't be able to keep up if I ran alongside him so I jumped on to his back and held on to his pelt with my claws. He made a sound like he was laughing before easing into a sprint. I pressed my body against his so I wouldn't be thrown off. Eventually we arrived at a different pack's borders. All of a sudden we were surrounded by people.

"Alpha Derek. Alpha Jeremy is expecting you." One of them said. As Derek walked past them they looked at me in confusion but they didn't say anything about it. Someone brought Derek shorts and I slipped off his back. He shifted back, put the shorts on and knelt down so I could get on his shoulders which I did. He stood back up and walked towards what I think is the pack house. I rested my head on my paws and looked behind us to see the wolves from before following us, not that I had a problem with that. Derek pushes the door open and we walk inside.
"Derek!" I look towards the huge staircase to see a guy about Derek's age standing at the top.
"Hey Jeremy. You ready?" Derek asked and the guy nodded. Derek walked towards him then they both walked to a set of doors that look similar to the ones at Derek's house. We walked inside and he sat in the chair in front of the while Jeremy sat behind it. I hopped off Derek's shoulders and sat on the edge of the desk, giving Jeremy a fright.
"I was wondering why you were wearing fur." Jeremey said with a laugh which Derek joined in with.
"This is Melody. She's accompanying me today." Derek said as he scratched behind my ear.
"She's beautiful." Jeremy complimented and they began the meeting. I alternated between Derek's lap, the desk and the floor until I got bored. I nudged the door open and walked out of the room. I trotted to the lounge room I saw earlier and laid down in a patch of sun, quickly falling asleep.
I woke up to someone calling my name.
"Melody?" I stretched my muscles and walked out of the lounge room. When Derek saw me he smiled.
"You ready to go?" He asked and I nodded. We made our way home and when we arrived I pulled on Derek's shorts, trying to pull him upstairs.
"You want me to follow?" He asked and I nodded. I ran up to his room and waited for him to come in. He sat on the bed and I tugged on his shirt.
"Take this off?" He asked and I nodded. He pulled the shirt off and tossed it on the floor. I jumped down and grabbed the shirt in my jaws before running to the bathroom and pushing the door shut. I can't believe I'm going this. I closed my eyes and thought about my human form. My waist length, obsidian hair, my fair skin, long legs, thin frame, amber eyes, red fox ears on top of my head and fluffy tail erupting from the small of my back. The weird thing is that I can't get rid of the ears or tail. They're there in human and fox form. I looked in the mirror to see my human form. Unlike other shifters, my shifting is completely silent so I know that Derek has no clue what's happening. I pulled the shirt over my naked body and it reached my mid-thigh. I turned back to the door and rested my hand on the handle. Here goes nothing. I pulled the door open and took a deep breath before walking into the bedroom. When Derek saw me his eyes bugged out of their sockets.

"M-Melody?" He stuttered and I gave him a small wave before dropping my hand and looking at the floor. My ears twitched nervously when I heard him stand up. He slowly walked towards me. I felt his finger under my chin and he lifted my head, getting me to look at him.
"You're beautiful." He whispered. My tail swished in glee. Derek noticed the movement and he looked behind me, his eyes widening again.
"You're got a tail." He said and I nodded.
"Why?"
"I'm the only fox shifter in existence. I don't know, I have no one to ask." I said quietly. Derek's body shuddered at the sound of my voice.
"How are you feeling in this form?" He asked and my tail became still.
"Vulnerable." I said after a few seconds of silence.
"I can protect you, you know." He told me and I stared up at him.
"Why would you though? You've a better chance at continuing your strong bloodline with another werewolf." I told him and an angry look passed over his face.
"Don't you dare say that. You're my mate and I'm going to be with you. Not some she-wolf who's not worthy." He said firmly before pressing his lips against mine. My eyes widened in shock. I cautiously began to move my lips against his but soon I lost myself. I wrapped my arms around his neck and pressed my body against his. He lifted me up and I wrapped my legs around his waist. He held my thighs so I wouldn't fall. He spun us around and gently laid me on the bed and hovered above me. I pulled back for air but that didn't stop him. He peppered kissed along my jaw and down my neck. When he got to the spot where my shoulder met my neck I let out a loud moan and my arms tightened around him.
"Can I mark you?" He asked, his husky voice muffled by my skin. I quickly nodded, not trusting my voice at the moment. I move my hands to his hair. I felt him give the spot one last kiss before sinking his teeth into my flesh. My grip tightened on his hair and he let out a groan of pleasure. The pain was replaced with indescribable pleasure in an instant. He pulled his teeth out and licked the wound clean. He pulled back and I saw that he still had some of my blood around his mouth. I lifted my hand and wiped it from his bottom lip. He furrowed his eyebrows when he saw my blood.
"Why is it orange?" He asked and I shrugged.
"I guess it's a fox thing." I said and he just nodded. I surprised him by flipping us over and kissing him roughly on the mouth. His hands went on my waist and I remembered that I was only in a shirt. I pulled him into a sitting position so I was sitting in his lap. I left his lips and left slow, wet kisses down his neck. Unsurprisingly his sweet spot was in the same place as mine. When I reached it his grip tightened around me and he moaned just as loud as I had.
"Mark me, Mel." He said breathlessly. I extended my teeth and bit into his soft skin. He let out an even louder moan as his pain turned to pleasure. I pulled my teeth out and licked the skin clean like he had done to me.
Hey little fox. I flinched in surprise when I heard his voice in my head.
At least now you won't have to use the computer to talk to me. He chuckled and I smiled.
I guess not.
