《Gentle Turbulence - Uchiha Madara Love Story》Chapter 4 - The Senjus

Mi Ho pov:
The walk to the other side of the building took a few minutes. The compound was pretty big and we reached a room that was all the way inside the main building we were walking through. We stopped outside a door and Hashirama san knocked thrice. We heard a voice from inside giving us permission to enter and Hashirama san slid the door open and stepped in. He held the door open for me to enter as well and then closed the door after I was inside.
I saw a man who looked like the older version of Hashirama san. He was wearing a haori and he had a white band tied on his forehead. He had similar brown hair but it was shorter than Hashirama sans. He looked rather stern and I sat down next to Hashirama san and waited for someone to say something.
Hashirama san was the first to speak and he described everything that happened with me in his office to his father. Well, his father kept giving me skeptical and suspicious glances and more than getting intimidated, I was starting to get annoyed with it. But thankfully after about an hour, the conversations died down. Tobirama san had also returned and he was sitting on my other side. It felt weird, like I was being guarded but since I realized I was in quite an unstable ‘dimension’, I didn’t say anything about it.
Everyonewas rather edgy when Hashirama san mentioned that I could read people’s minds. They didn't seem to like the fact that their personal thoughts could be heard and well, I couldn't really blame them. After all, even I wouldn't like it if someone could hear my thoughts. Buthey, its not my fault. I mean, I didn’t know I could do that. I had never been able to read people’s minds before and I wasn’t Superman or Wonder Woman or some superhero to be able to do something that cool.....well, cool in the sense that it was a strange and unique ability.
But two people I had met here had said that I had heard their thoughts. And I had done it unconsciously. In fact, both times when that happened, I wasn’t looking at them and I guess you could say I was extremely aware of people being there. I was in a place I didn't know and with people I didn't know so I was pretty obvious for me to be cautious about my surroundings. That's what I had learnt from my parents and I had followed their advice till now. Somaybe what they said was true…..but it still seemed really irrational and I was finding it a little hard to believe.
“What is your real name?” Tobirama asked suddenly and the atmosphere seemed to suddenly get tense. “I already told you. My name is Mio.” I said and he narrowed his eyes at me. “You said we can call you Mio. So its not your real name, is it?” He said and I rolled my eyes. “Jeez, no need to be so stiff, you know? In my country, people have 3 names. A last name, middle name and first name. So my real name is Jung Mi Ho. In Japanese, people have only a last name and first name and since Mi Ho is similar to Mio, I thought of the adaptation.” I shrugged and they looked at me cautiously for a minute before relaxing.
I restrained from rolling my eyes. These guys were taking things too seriously weren’t they? Then again, I didn’t know anything about this dimension…..this ‘dimension’ considering the fact that I wasn’t dreaming. And they were talking about different clans and the problems it would cause if something caused an imbalance between them. So I guess they were just concerned for the well being of their clan. And in the end, I felt like I couldn't blame their behavior.

“Very well. You will stay in the Senju compound until further decisions, but you will be under watch 24/7 for safety reasons. Since we do not know about your abilities besides unconsciously being able to hear others thoughts, we cannot let people know details about you. We will try to figure out your abilities later on.” Butsuma san said and I nodded. “Ok…I guess.” His proposition seemed rational, but I could tell that they didn't trust me one bit. And I'm sure they didn't believe that I had heard people's thoughts unintentionally either. they thought I was hiding my special ‘power’.
“But first, get into some decent clothes.” Batsuma san sneered out as we got up and I mentally glared at him. Jeez, this place was just too primeval! Where was their fashion sense?! My clothes were the latest trend and they were pretty expensive! I was wearing them so I would look good in front of my parents and these guys were talking about it like they were torn or something.
We all got up and Hashirama san and Tobirama san gave deep bows before we left the room. I was so glad when we had gotten away from those annoying elders and I still held onto my stilettoes as I followed Hashirama san barefoot.
We made it to another part of the building and I was led to a room where I would be for my time here. Well, Tobirama san had left after we walked out of the other room after giving me a look of distaste. I figured that he didn’t really like me…..oh well, cant do anything about that now can I? I could tell on the first glance itself that Tobirama san was serious compared to Hashirama san. So he was probably going to be watching me like a hawk from now on.
Besides, when Batsuma san was talking to his wife and a few of the other elder people in the room, I kind of overheard him saying some stuff about Hashirama san and Tobirama san. We were asked to wait in the room and they had gone into another part of the room that had a partition wall in between.
I didn’t mean to eavesdrop, but I had pretty sensitive hearing. So I heard them discuss that Hashirama san was too soft and they needed someone to watch me very intently during my stay here. Apparently, since Hashirama san was the leader of this clan, he would be busy with managing other stuff in the clan along with Tobirama san’s help. But Tobirama san didn’t have to be present all the time so he would be watching me either secretly or with me knowing. Which was…..annoying to know.
“This is your room from now on. If there is anything you need, you can ask Tobirama and he will get the attendants to get things done for you. There are clothes in the closet there so please get changed.” Hashirama san said as we reached one of the possibly million rooms in this building and I smiled. “Ok thank you.” I didn’t really want to be a brat and complain about having to go to Tobirama san if I needed something since Hashirama san didn’t sound like a bad person. He was really nice and made me feel comfortable.
“And please do not try to escape. We will have to take drastic measures if you try anything suspicious.” And there goes my comfort level right out the window. “Of course, I wont. Don’t worry.” I gave a fake cheery smile and he left me. I closed the room door and sighed as I leaned against the door. Great....now I was stuck here for God knows how long. Well, this was my new life now….at least until I could find a way as to why all this happened and how I could get back home in one piece.

I pushed those thoughts out of my head and looked around the room. It was rather simple. It was big and had a big window on the other side. There was a mattress rolled up in one corner of the room and there was a closet on the other side. There was another door that probably led to a bathroom. On the whole, the room was rather comfy. Well, both sides opened up to a beautiful garden and it comforted me to some extent that my stay here would be tolerable. I put my bag down and walked to the window. I gave a good stretch and blinked when I saw the shadows of two people outside the window.
I sighed realizing that they were guarding me and I groaned. I shook my head and walked to the closet that was placed in the room. I opened it and cringed seeing nothing besides oversized and long robes. They looked really uncomfortable and I rummaged through them hoping to find something wearable. None of them were good but in the end I had to make do with a 3/4th kimono top and slim fit pants.
It was ok I guess, but the kimono sleeves were annoyingly long so I folded them up to a comfortable length.
I had taken a shower and freshened up before I got into the kimono outfit. I couldn't wear my normal clothes so I had zipped up my bag and kept it in the closet all the way at the back. But I had pocketed my cell phone so that in case a signal came up, I could use the chance to try and contact my eonnis. But since I was in a different dimension, the possibility of that was really really low.
After I was dressed, I combed my hair with my fingers tied it up into a messy ponytail. It was evening and I was starting to get hungry, but since I was more of a prisoner than a guest here, I just decided to wait foe someone to being me dinner. After all, someone was bound to get me food sooner or later and if no one did turn up, I would have to ask Tobirama san to help just as Hashirama san had told me earlier.
Since I had nothing to do now, I decided to sit in the corridor and watch the garden. I slid open the doors and the two people who were standing outside to guard me stiffened. I gave an inaudible sigh and shook my head. But I closed the room door and walked to the edge of the corridor and sat down while swinging my legs.
The garden was really beautiful with a pond in the center. The water sparkled and I could even make out a few koi fish swimming around in the water. There were all kinds of plants that grew around and many of them and brightly colored flowers as well.
The sky had turned orangish and the weather was warm. The surroundings were quiet and it was rather peaceful here. I sat up straight and closed my eyes. I took several deep breaths with my nose and let them out of my mouth slowly. I was used to regular breathing exercises and workouts to maintain fitness and I was also pretty strict with my diet. Well, I did eat pizzas and junk food occasionally but on a regular basis, all if us ate healthy food to make sure we didn't become fat.
After a few minutes of just breathing the fresh air, I relaxed and opened my eyes. I heard footsteps from my side and I looked up to see Tobirama san walking towards me holding a plate of food. I smiled at him and he came to where I was seated and sat down next to me. He held out the plate and he was still giving me a suspicious and stern gaze. But I pushed it away, not wanting to seem rude that I didn't like the way he was treating me. After all, if this really was a ninja world and people lived as clans in separate settlements, then there was a very high possibility that people didn't trust people from other clans easily. There was probably some misunderstanding or safety reasons as to why everyone here was so paranoid.
I looked at the plate of food that Tobirama san had in his hands and I smiled whole clapping my hands together. "Wah! Mashikettha! [wow! It looks delicious]" I knew he wouldn't understand the language, so I made sure I said it properly."It looks really tasty!" I told him and I took it from his hands. I began to eat and I nodded as I chewed the food. "Its really good!" I complimented and smiled at him. But he only narrowed his eyes and I laughed softly and shook my head.
I looked back at the garden as I ate and then back at him when he spoke. "Do your family members have blonde hair and gold eyes as well?" I chuckled and shook my head. "You're still thinking that I'm from a particular clan, aren't you?" I asked and he narrowed his eyes. I took the last bite of food on the plate and put it aside. "First of all, I'm not from any clan. Secondly, my eyes are ochre....they only look golden in the sun. And lastly, this isn't my real hair color."
"Not your real hair color? What do you mean?" He asked even more suspicious than before and I shrugged. "I got it colored. Its a rising fashion trend from where I come from. My real hair color is black....you'll probably see the black hair at my scalp after a few weeks when my hair grow longer." I said in return. "So a lot of people change their hair color?" He asked and I nodded. "Yeah, this is my second time actually. The first time, I had my hair colored brown."
“What about your eye color then?” He asked. “Well, people do get contacts for their eyes to change their eye color as well, but I don’t really like those. They irritate my eyes…..so my real eye color is ochre.” I said and he nodded. “You know, its kind of like changing your clothes. You want to try out new styles so we change our looks.” I shrugged.
He didn't say anything after that and we sat in silence. I decided to be the first to break the silence so I looked at him hesitantly. "Tobirama san? I was wondering.....well, I had a small request." I said and he watched me skeptically. "You see....I'm really particular about my eating habits and working out. I usually go out for a run in the mornings and I do cardio in the evenings. I know that me being watched all the time is important, but I'd really like to do my workouts regularly. So I was hoping I could get a good run in the mornings?"
"Workout? So you train to fight?" He asked and I chuckled while shaking my head. "No no....its to make sure I don't get fat." I giggled and he hesitated. But he let out a sigh and got up. He picked up the plate and turned around. I pouted when he ignored my question but he stopped a few feet away. "Aniki told me to make sure that your stay here is comfortable....and that's the only reason why I am allowing you to do your so called 'training'. But if you do try something funny using it as a chance, you'll regret it. I will accompany you in the morning as a safety measure."
"Really?! Thank you Tobirama san! I really appreciate it! Oh, and I hope you wont mind if I be a little picky about my food too." I smiled sheepishly and he just walked away silently and probably a little annoyed as well. I giggled and looked back at the garden. Maybe Tobirama san wasn't such a bad guy after all. Maybe a bit too stern and strict and protective of his clan, but he was ok.
Well, looks like a few things were solved for now, although the fact of not having any sort of communication with my world wasn't something I liked. First of all, after a few days, I knew I would start missing family and friends terribly and secondly, from the reactions I got from the people here, I don't know if I would be able to practice singing and dancing like I always did. Besides, if I didn't get back in time for dance rehearsals and recording, Eun Kyung eonni would kick my butt.
I guess I would have to control myself for a while and maybe when they started trusting me more, I could tell them and show them what I did for my living. After all, we did have those hologram bracelets and I guess I could communicate through that.....hopefully if it didn't need any sort of signal. If that needed some sort of signal too, then I was in big trouble.
I gave a big stretch and hummed in a shrill voice. I was tired today. The train travel, the accident, the incident in the forest and talking with all these people here had drained my energy. I guess it was time to get some good shut eye. I got up and walked back into the room and shut the door behind me. I waked to the mattress, pulled it out and spread it on the floor.
I walked into the bathroom, washed my face, brushed my teeth with the funny looking brush and the funny smelling paste and walked back into the room. I got under the mattress and reached for my phone. I unlocked the screen and looked ay the picture of me and my band dressed up when we had recorded a song a few weeks ago that I had set as my lock screen picture. I sighed and locked my phone and put it safely under my pillow. I turned to my side and pulled the covers till my chin. I closed my eyes and gave another soft sigh.
I was so going to miss everyone. I just hope that my stay here wasn't going to be too long.

Wizards of the Otherworldly Court is a fantasy story about the Otherworldly Court, an inter-dimensional (or world-hopping, you get the idea) organization made up of people of all ages, gender, and race from many parallel or different worlds. They are granted elemental-like magic powers and called themselves 'Court Wizards'. They are tasked to watch over the many worlds they come across and step into these worlds on 'missions' to preserve the balance, life, order, anything to make said worlds better places in the shadows but may reveal themselves if necessary. However, these missions may partially or even fully oppose their nature, personal interests, and ideals. Yet, most of the Court Wizards are aware and willing to complete even the worst missions that would shatter their true selves that they will never cast aside regardless, either growing or regressing because of it. Basically, it's isekai to multiple worlds but each book after Wizards of the Otherworldly Court: Alicia focuses primarily on one world while also discussing its lore in detail. Book Alicia is the introduction containing the essential worldbuilding of the Otherworldly Court universe you need to know while shoving in as many characters and worlds as I can. Also, each book will have a different main character, sometimes more than one in a single book, like Jojo.
