Sonmi couldn't believe what she was hearing. "W-what do you mean, baby?"
"Dad just locked me up here. I don't even know why mom." Jungkook weakly tried to wipe his tears. "He's saying some crazy shit to everyone."
Sonmi instinctively took few steps closer when Jungkook stared to sob. She cautiously sat next to Jungkook and held him while the latter cried in to her shoulder.
"H-he's saying that my wolf has l-lost control an-and that he's a threat to others." Jungkook babbled through his hiccups. "But I'm not even trying to shift. Please help me mom."
"Shh... don't cry, my baby." Sonmi is crying a bit too. "I'll talk with dad and see what this is."
Jungkook quickly untangle himself from Sonmi. "No, you can't! He will lie to you too. Mom, please just get me out of here."
Sonmi looked in pain with conflict. She didn't want to go against her husband. With all those years of being married, she knew very well that Junghyun never do anything without a reason.
Jungkook saw the conflict in her eyes so he used another method.
"It's okay mom. I know you will make him understand. But can you atleast remove these cuffs, please? They hurt."
Sonmi couldn't deny that request so she picked up the key from the hanger near the door and uncuffered Jungkook's ankles from the chain.
"I'll be right back, baby." Sonmi gave a soft kiss to Jungkook's forehead, before heading towards the door.
She heard the sound of footsteps, but didn't had a chance to turn around before something hit her head and she feel unconscious.

Junghyun sat in his office but he wasn't doing anything. So many thoughts are going through his mind. If his death could help his son, he would have done it in a heartbeat. He knows Sonmi would understand. To a parent, nothing is more important than their child.
But with what elder Seulgi said, Junghyun is scared to die even. It's one thing to prevent Jungkook from hurting him, Junghyun is capable of that since he's an alpha.
Stopping Jungkook from hurting himself would be a different story altogether. His mind is under a spell so there isn't any way to make him see reason. And they couldn't watch him every second of the day.

He looked up at the sound of the knock on the door to see Taehyung walking in.
"Tae." Junghyun said with a small smile. "Come on in."
Taehyung sat down on the opposite chair. "How are you uncle?"
"I-" Junghyun tired to speak but the words got stuck in his throat. "I don't know."
Taehyung nod his head in understanding. He didn't knew how he's doing either.
"I informed the council about Seong's and the witch's deeds to the high council."
Taehyung twirled the glass paper weight on Junghyun's table. He and V was seeing red with rage at the mere mention of those two. V wanted to rip their heads off, damn the consequences.
It is very hard to control the urge to just attack them. But Taehyung knows it's against the rules and will cause trouble to the pack.
"Yeah." Taehyung answered through gritted teeth. "That's for the best."
"Yeah."
"And Park Bogum too."
"I told about him too. But with what you told me about him, I feel he's more of a pawn that those two used."
"I'm sorry, uncle. It's all because of me."
"No, Tae. Don't say that-"
Junghyun's words got cut out by the sound of running foot steps. They both looked up at the door to see a breathless Taemin running in.
"Jungkook-" Taemin gasped as he held the door for support. "He's gone."

Jungkook was no where to be found. They searched everywhere, as much as they could without alerting the rest of the pack. They didn't want anyone to know or it'll be more dangerous for Jungkook and anyone that he comes across.
Sonmi was okay, just a little bump on her head. She was hurting more in her heart than in her head. Junghyun apologised for not telling her about the situation. She was angry at first but she understood where Junghyun was coming from.
It was nightfall and there wasn't any news of Jungkook at all. They were sure he didn't leave the pack because none of the vehicles were missing. Unless of course, he walked.
Taehyung and Taemin was out searching and Junghyun was asked to stay in the pack house, in case Jungkook came back. But he just couldn't wait while his son was out there, God knows in what condition. He was worried that Jungkook might go back to Seong or that witch.

Driven by a sudden thought, Junghyun decided to look in the pack ground. Jungkook used to love that place. They have searched there and nearby forest already but something told Junghyun that he should go there.
The pack grounds were empty. Junghyun just stood there, remembering all the happy memories of him playing with Jungkook. And also, of that fateful night, where Taehyung left them, and he saw his son's heart break for the first time.
The years after that were the most difficult ones for Junghyun and Sonmi. To see their child's suffering, but not be able to do anything. It was pure hell for them.
Junghyun heard the sound, before he saw the man emerging from the forest.
"Hi dad."
"Kookie." Junghyun breathed in relief. "Thank God you're okay."
"I am." Jungkook gave a loopside grin at that. "Can't say the same about you though."
"Kookie, baby listen." Junghyun took a step forward. "We will find a solution for this okay. We won't let anything happen to you."
"Oh but dad, I don't think I'm the one you should be worry about."
Junghyun watched as Jungkook pulled out a gun from where it was tucked in to the waistband of his trouser.
Junghyun gasped in surprise. "W-where did you get that?!"
"A friend gave it to me." Jungkook twirled the gun in his finger. "It has silver bullets. Cool, isn't it?"
"Baby, give me that." Junghyun extended his hand towards his son. "Please don't hurt yourself."
Jungkook took few steps back and aimed the gun at Junghyun. His eyes carried no other emotion but crazy happiness.
"Like I said, dad, I'm not the one you should be worried about."

"Where is uncle Junghyun? I need to speak to him urgently." Taehyung asked Yoongi, who was sitting in the living room.
Jimin was with him too. They had returned about an hour ago, after being outside all this time, looking for Jungkook.
"He was in his office room."
Taehyung looked back with a troubled look. "He's not there. I checked."
"He went to the training grounds." Sonmi said as she walked towards the living room, with the help of Yeri.
Taehyung gave a nod in acknowledgement and ran out. It took him only about 10 minutes to get there. Only to see Jungkook raising a gun at his own father.
Taehyung felt the shift in his mind and his feet started to move on their own. He leaped through the air, shifting mid-stride and the huge black wolf took the last few steps to Jungkook.
Jungkook was rather focused on the task at hand so he didn't noticed the black wolf. Junghyun did but there wasn't any time for him to do anything about it either.
The gun went off, just as the huge black wolf pounced on Jungkook, making him lose his aim. The bullet flew over Junghyun's shoulder, and in to the forest.
Jungkook fell on the ground due to the impact and V stood over him. The black wolf breathed on to the man's face, stance fierce but eyes gentle.
Jungkook sneaked his hand around V, in an attempt to shoot him, but the wolf was faster. With one last look, V lowered his face and bit Jungkook on his neck.
"!!" Junghyun shouted, his voice lazed with alpha power but V didn't stop.
The bite was too big, too severe for a human to withstand. Blood started to pour out of the wound. Jungkook's body shook few times before he took his last breath.

Seulgi jolted awake, as a dreaded feeling passed through her heart. She quickly got out of the bed and walked toward the window. The moon was glowing in bright red colour.
A blood moon.
Seulgi's eyes suddenly got covered with a mist, and she saw the worst future she had ever predicted, coming true.
Jeon Jungkook has been killed by his own mate.

She awakens in A'lara City a few days later and recuperates under the steadfast care of her repentant friend Jorn.As she reacclimates to her waking state, Larin struggles with her gruesome memories of the Hells and her decision to conceal them from Jorn. This story answers the question, Is Larin all right? with a resounding yes, and some storms on the horizon. It also raises the question, What happened to her down there? and includes an excerpt from the sister story Falling Down, about Larin's ordeal in the Nine Hells. Praise for Waking Up and Falling Down: Loved it. The difference between the two stories is great! The difference between Waking Up and Falling Down is astounding. So much light and love in the first story. You feel safe reading it. Healing. The second, so much darkness, pain and despair. The choice of vocabulary is awesome and makes an impact. And this set of short stories ties the two books together so well.-- Dana V. of Texas ★★★★★
