Jungkook felt a strange calmness as he stood in front of the building. It was buzzing with activity, people going in an out with an air of urgency. Nobody gave any attention to Jungkook, except maybe the group of three giggling teenagers.
It took lot of effort to coax Kai to talk to his girlfriend, Jenny, and get the details about Jisoo and her friend. According to her, the man Jungkook started the fight with, works in the same police station as Jisoo.
That's why he was here. Because he needed answers. And he needed them right now.
"" A determined voice sounded in his mind and Jungkook immediately agreed.
They both needed answers.

Jimin was nicely engaged in his mountain of paperwork when someone called his name. He raised his head and what he saw, made him open his mouth in surprise.
The boy walked swiftly towards him, his movements were confident and precise. There was no hesitation in his eyes, as he stopped near the table and looked straight at Jimin.
"I need to talk to Taehyung."
Jimin looked around at his colleagues, most were minding their own business but few were subtly eavesdropping. He quickly considered things and gave a nod to Jungkook.
"Uhh... follow me."
Jimin led the boy out of the police station and in to a nearby cafe. He could see the boy was a little unwilling to come in there but like hell he would just give Taehyung's phone number or address to this guy. And even though Taehyung didn't tell him anything about the boy, it was very clear he was someone important. Jimin didn't want to be rude.
"So, can I get you something to drink?" Jimin asked politely once the boy reluctantly took the seat he offered.
"I'm not here to drink or eat. I wanna talk to Taehyung."
Jimin rolled his eyes at that. "Geez! Chill man! I'll give him a call."
"Look, I don't want to waste my time. Just give me his number and I can be out of your hair."
Jimin had the suddenly urge to put this boy in his place. He was behaving like a spilled brat. No way he would give any information without asking from Taehyung first.

Jimin dialled the number and it got connected in few rings.
"Hey Chim, what's up?"
"Uhh.. your friend is here."
There was a silence for few seconds before Taehyung's voice came from the other side. "Jungkook?! What's he doing there?"
"He said he wants to talk to you. Shall I give him your number-"
"No!" Jimin flinched at that sudden yell. "I- uhh... I can't talk to him."
Jimin blinked few times to absorb that reply. He could see Jungkook looking at him with furrowed eyebrows too.
"Uhh.. are you sure?"
"Yeah, just tell him that-"
The phone was snatched from Jimin's hand and Jungkook was the one who heard the latter part of that sentence.
"-I don't want to talk to him."
Jungkook snickered in to the phone. "Still running away, I see."
A few seconds of a silence followed that. "Koo.."
"You owe me a fucking explanation! So you better come here and give it to me."
Taehyung's sigh could be heard by Jimin even. "Look, Koo-"
"No, you look! I'm not gonna go from this place until you come and meet me. I will come everyday if I have to. I don't care if I get arrested even but I will follow this friend of yours until you realise that you can't run forever!"
Jungkook harshly threw the phone at Jimin who managed to catch it despite being startled. He looked at the screen and saw that the call was still connected.
"Tae?"
"I'm on my way." Jimin could hear the urgent movements from the other side. "Just- can you please stay with him till I come?"
"Sure, don't worry about it."
"And uhh... get him a Banana milkshake. That'll make him calm down a bit."
Jimin didn't say anything as he cut the line. Jungkook was anyway looking out of the window, fuming, and was not paying any attention to Jimin or to the phone conversation.
Jimin got up from his seat and walked towards the cashier to place the order. He just hoped that the drastic change that Taehyung told him about hasn't changed the guy's beverage preference.
He rather not make Jungkook more angry..

Taehyung was driving bit faster than he would normally do. He knows that Jungkook and Jimin is not likely to fight again, but he still didn't want to take that chance. It was definitely not the same Jungkook as he knew.
Taehyung stopped the car near the cafe and quickly got out of it. He didn't bother parking cause he wasn't planning on staying at all.
It seemed that Jungkook had already seen him because the younger was up from his seat even before Taehyung opened the door. Taehyung quickly walked towards their table, gave a once over to Jimin who was silently sipping on his iced americano, and got a nod from him as a response.
He then looked at Jungkook, who was staring at him with an unknown expression. V informed about the presence of his mate, even before Taehyung got inside the cafe. The scent was fully recognisable by both wolves now.
Even with everything that was happening, V couldn't help but yearn for his mate's company. The mate bond is very hard to ignore, Taehyung was sure that both Jungkook and his wolf must be suffering, just like him and V were.
Jungkook's gaze never faltered or softened and Taehyung was left in shock about just how different it was from what he remembered.
"Come." Taehyung said in a soft voice, before he turned around and walked out of the cafe.
He didn't had to look behind to see if Jungkook was following. He walked to his car, opened the passenger door for Jungkook, and walked around to the other side without waiting till Jungkook got on.
The very short car ride passed in silence. Taehyung didn't want to make a scene at the cafe, as there were many people present. He just wanted to take Jungkook to a relatively deserted place, before he has to break his heart, again.

"So-" Taehyung started as they both stood against the car, leaning on to the bonnet. "What do you want to know?"
Jungkook laughed loudly. "Where the fuck do I even begin?!"
"Look, you wanted to talk. So here I am. Just ask whatever you want before we part our ways."
"Part our ways?"
"Yeah. So.. get on with it."
Jungkook was actually feeling rather calm and happy, he assumed it was an unintentional effect of the mate bond from both sides. His Omega self naturally felt safe and content around his alpha.
But now, Taehyung's indifferent attitude was making him angry again.
"Okay." Jungkook scoffed before starting. "Why did you lie to me? Why did you say you found your mate, when I am your mate?"
"I had my reasons." Taehyung's voice held no emotions.
"Like what?"
"I don't think I have to explain those to you."
Jungkook looked as if Taehyung's had three heads. "You lied to me about having a mate, and you think you don't owe me an explanation?"
Even though there was only a minuscule possibility, Taehyung really hoped for this conversation to go the other way. He hoped for Jungkook to take his attitude carefully, and not ask too many questions. He didn't want to hurt the younger, more than he already had.
But as it is the nature of life, you rarely get what you want.
"Yes, I lied. I had to." Taehyung feigned an annoyance and spat through gritted teeth. "I had to get away from there and I knew that was the only way you would let me go."
Jungkook stilled as if Taehyung slapped him. His face looked confused before it changed in to a pained one. "Away from there or away from me?"
For a second, Taehyung wavered. He couldn't bare to see the pain in Jungkook's eyes anymore. The younger's heartbreak was so clearly visible through his doe eyes, that Taehyung felt as if someone was stabbing his heart repeatedly with a sharp knife.
"" V's voice rang through his mind in the next second. ""
Taehyung held his heart tightly, and delivered the final blow. "Both."
"Oh.."
Taehyung didn't look back as he got on to the car and drove away from there. He knew if he looked back at the younger, and saw how broken he looked, he might have changed his mind about everything.
So he just drove, leaving Jungkook for the second time. And he knew that this time, the damage was far more severe than the last time.

Letters from a Dying World
Times historic are often penned after the fact in the lifeblood of the pitiful, forgotten masses. That roiling, uncountable crush of humanity, they who held the pikes and they who threw down the tyrants. Their veins opened by gazes academic, sharp and cruel, and pecked away at with quills, written out of their own story. The Second Dark Crusade was a time of such poignancy. A time when the light of man waned and flickered, choking in the acrid smoke of its own inadequacy. As befitting of such an age it has been covered more than a capital whore, and so I attempt not to tell that story again. That story of dull, unfeeling analysis. Neither here will you find the browbeating, propagandistic screeds so common in the hands of men, the light of youth still burning behind their eyes. Nay, here I shall attempt to cover fresh ground, not tread on the grave dirt of long dead authors. Here I shall attempt to tell the story of the small lives caught, unbeknownst to them, in the great and torrential downpour that we now call history. Here lies the true story of The Second Crusade. - Loremaster Ip'Qal
