"Pwetty bwaby."

Sonmi cooed at the little boy. Taehyung had been glued to the baby for the past two days, only leaving for absolutely necessary stuff like meals and sleep.

He wanted to sleep next to the baby but both Sonmi and Yoona disagreed to that. Babies tend to wake up very often in the night and the elders were worried that all the crying will disrupt Taehyung's sleep too.

Taehyung had sulked but finally agreed to go for the night, only to come running back early in the morning. He was very eager to be with the baby.

"His name is Jungkook. Jeon Jungkook." Sonmi said in a soft voice, as Taehyung kept calling him 'Pretty baby'.

"Tete knooo." Taehyung answered with a little pout. "Nwame thu hard pwor tete."

"Well, why don't you pick a nick name for him? Something that only you will call him with."

Taehyung's little face furrowed with concentration. "Only pwor tete?"

"Yes, baby. Only for you."

Sonmi watch as the little one thought for few minutes. He had his index finger slightly inside his mouth, with softly trying to pronounce the long name.

After few minutes, his face lit up with a smile. "Kwoo?"

Sonmi beamed at the little boy. "Good one, Taetae. That's a very beautiful name."

Little boy gave the prettiest smile at that praise. His little heart was filled with pride, for thinking such a pretty name.

"Yay!" Taehyung whisper shouted as he bent towards the sleeping baby. "Dwo chu wike that nwame, Kwoo? Hwungie made ith juss pwor chu. Pwetty Kwoo.."

And right at that moment, the sleeping baby slowly opened his eyes and smiled at Taehyung, making the latter gasp in surprise.

"Aunchie, aunchie... Kwoo shmiled with tete. Kwoo wikes the nwame." Taehyung was quietly jumping up and down in excitement.

"Of course he'll like it, baby. You're gonna be the best hyung ever." Sonmi said in a soft voice. Her heart was at peace to see the beginning of this beautiful bond.

On the ninth day from Jungkook's birth, the Jeon family was getting ready to welcome his great grandmother, Seulgi. She is a spiritual leader of the pack, with the gift of looking in to the future. When a child is born, she will come and foretell his or her future.

Her predictions were not an exact science as the future is not set in stone but over the years, people had witnessed all of them coming true. In a way, it was self-fulfilling.

For example, if she predicted a child will excel in music, the parents will definitely provide the baby with all the necessary knowledge and support in that area. So it really shouldn't be a surprise when he or she grew up to be a successful musician.

Junghyun was excited to have his son's future read, too see what direction he needs to point the child in. Of course he will let Jungkook do whatever he prefer but it doesn't hurt to be prepared with Seulgi's advise.

Most of the pack had gathered to witness the ceremony. A male Omega was such a huge blessing for a pack, so they all were really happy and loved their pack leader's son.

Everything was ready. Jungkook was sleeping on a makeshift altar, covered with a wool blanket to keep him warm. The place was lit with scented candles, giving a soft, orange-ish glow to it.

Junghyun and Sonmi stood right next to the baby, with the Kim family standing just a little behind. Seulgi was waiting for the moon to reach it's zenith, as she drew her powers from the moon.

"It's time."

A silence fell on to the crowd as they watched Seulgi start the ritual. She chanted a slow and rhythmic prayer, in a language foreign to others. Her hands made invisible patterns in the air, which was starting to feel little thicker to the people gathered.

There was magic and power in the air. Everyone could feel it, but none could harnesses or bend it to their will.

Suddenly, Seulgi's eyes were covered with something that looked like thick fog. She was one with her inner power.

"Jeon Jungkook-" Seulgi's words rang through the crowd, voice way too powerful for an old lady.

Everyone held their breath, waiting for the witch to complete her words, her prophecy. But Seulgi was silent. She didn't say anything after mentioning Jungkook's name.

Sonmi and Junghyun looked at each other with concerned eyes. What was happening? Why wasn't a prophecy given for their child?

Then, Seulgi spoke up again.

"Jeon Jungkook, will be a blessing for the pack. He will have the people's hearts in his hand, his smile will bring out spring season."

Seulgi lowered her head after that exclamation. When she raised her head again, her eyes were back to normal colour. The people cheered loudly. It was a little vague but indeed a good future.

Seulgi gave a happy smile to the people before looking at Junghyun. With that one look, Junghyun knew that something was terribly wrong. He and Sonmi quickly accepted the wishes from his pack, before taking Jungkook inside, followed by Seulgi and Kims.

"Elder Seulgi." Junghyun addressed the elder respectfully. "What's wrong?"

Seulgi raised her hand to gently massage her forehead. She contemplated for few seconds, whether to tell it or not.

"What I said earlier, was not everything I saw. There was something else in his future. Something terrible."

Sonmi gasped and tightened her hold on her baby. 'Something terrible?' No, no. She won't let anything happen to her baby.

"S-something terrible?" Junghyun could barely speak past the lump in his throat.

"Yes." Seulgi answered in a resigned tone. "This child is destined to die at the hand of his mate."

"N-no!" Sonmi's voice was a strangled cry. "N-no, t-that can't be."

"I'm sorry, my child. It is clear as day. Although I can't predict the exact circumstances, it will surely happen." Seulgi gently caressed Jungkook's head, who were still sleeping without a care in the world.

Both Sonmi and Junghyun were devastated. How could the moon goddess give such a horrific fate to their son? Wasn't the male Omegas considered as her favourites?

Suddenly, there was a sound of small footsteps. Taehyung, who had been holding on to his father's hand all this time, walked towards the baby. He looked at Sonmi, who understood it to be a request to bend down.

Once the baby was on his level, Taehyung gently stroked his cheek.

"Nu scwared, Kwoo. Tete will pwoteth chu."

A sob slipped pass Yoona's mouth, while Sonmi was silently crying. Even Taemin and Junghyun had tears in their eyes. They were all so moved by the words of little Taehyung.

But while everyone was being emotional over the two kids in the room, Seulgi saw something else. She saw a soft red glow around Taehyung, and for a mere second, it looked as if Taehyung's eyes flashed red.

Kids are not connected with their wolves, until they reach a certain age, normally around early teens. They will feel a presence in the back of their mind, around the age of 5-6 but not a solid connection. Wolf and human, connect with each other, when they are ready to become one.

Earlier it was when they were ready to shift but nowadays, most werewolves don't make the shift at all. Times have changed and the world has moved on from the era of magical creatures of superpowers. Very few have a favorable mindset for the shift and even fewer can make it.

It have some dependency with your lineage too. If you come from a family of non-shifters, you're not likely to be able to shift too. The spark that ignites the inner change, has gotten lost over time.

However, both Jeon Junghyun and Kim Taemin are exceptions for this norm. Both are coming from families that had mastered the shifting and so were they. Which is one of the reasons that the Jeon family head this clan.

But no matter how powerful your lineage is, there was no way a two year old can be connected with their inner wolf. It's impossible.

Only... that was exactly what had happened right now. The two year old human might be the one to voice the promise, but it carried a much more powerful result.

It was an Alpha's promise...
