《Dark Poetry》LXVII: Burning, Dwindling Love

this poem is dedicated to logicalpoison for inspiring me to write when I didn't have the heart to.

Our fire died last winter

I'm not sure where to look now

If we're still rebuilding

Promise you won't burn it down?

If i shout into the void

will it hurt any less?

My heart bleeds, but I can't blame you

for getting me into this mess.

Am I looking in the right places?

Searching the right cracks?

Perhaps you'll fill me up again

Where my joy seems to lack.

But I just can't love you

the way I did before

what's the point to this

if our love isn't the same aymore?

Our fire died last winter

I can't keep looking now

if I find solace in the arms of another

promise not to burn the world down?
