He always crept out after dark

When he wife was sound asleep

To meet the woman he fucked each night

Who lived right down the street.

The wife woke up every time

And saw he wasn't there

And he came back every time

Bearing gold strands of hair.

His infidelity wore at her

Until her wrists starting bleeding.

He saw the cuts but shied away

His shame was interceding.

He came home one afternoon

To find the tv smashed.

His heart sunk as he took in the room,

His wife looked unabashed.

"Oh darling," she said.

"It's all okay, I haven't told your mother.

Look at the improvements I've made.

Now all we can watch is each other."
