It's been a while,

Since I've smiled–

Because of the never-ending strife

In this unforgiving life.

The constant pain

Is driving me insane.

I don't know if I can cope;

All I can do is hope.

But when hoping becomes a chore,

When I'm broken to the core,

There's no choice but to end–

Because I know that I cannot mend.
