《Dark Poetry》(XXXI) I'm Sorry; I didn't Mean To

Advertisement

I'm sorry;

I didn't mean to.

But he was yelling through my ear,

So much so that I couldn't even hear.

I feel as if I snapped inside;

Unlike the way that I used to hide,

When his fist met my face,

Which started this long, fearful race.

This rage built up inside of me,

And the longing of being free,

Started this dreadful war

And I'm screaming for blood, screaming for more.

But his eyes lost life,

And the pocket knife,

I used was now red.

And he fell, forever dead.

My ears were ringing,

My head was singing;

Of loss, regret, tragic,

And he was gone, just like magic.

Like I said before, sorry.

But you were starting to worry,

But I couldn't tell the truth, nor idly sit,

So as I was walking across the bridge, I decided to end it.
