《When Fireflies Diminish | Poetry》21 | Dancing In The Rain

Speckled gems upon her skin fall

Leaving kisses upon her cheeks, her hair...

Rejuvenating her ash-filled heart.

And she dances as the rain becomes strong,

Her soul singing a honeyed serenade

To the clouds that had formed a perfect line above.

How had she not realized this before?

There was beauty in every droplet that fell,

There was something that stirred her soul.

So she danced until the cold penetrated her clothes,

Yet her heart was much calmer, much happier

As rain fell upon her small silhouette

Reminding her that she was alive.
