Last night was Halloween. I went out with Stacy, Melanie, Gina, and Michelle. We were armed with shaving cream and eggs.
We ran into Daniel, Nathan, Tyler, Louis, Jacob, and a few more of their friends. Nathan hates me now because of what I did with Chris Walker while I was still going out with him, so he started attacking me with shaving cream and stink bombs. [I'm still unclear on what a stink bomb actually is.]
I guess it was kind of funny. He is still as hot as ever, but he doesn't go to our school anymore. I was completely covered in shaving cream and I was freezing cold.
We walked around the neighborhood where Stacy lives, and I had major bonding time with Jacob, who is really popular. He said, "I was over Tyler's house and we were looking for you. Why didn't you come outside?"
The truth is, I had seen them walking around, and Alicia and I had purposefully gone out looking for them. Isn't it ironic that in such a tiny neighborhood, we did not find each other? ["Isn't it ironic..." had become one of my favorite ways to start rhetorical questions since "Ironic" by Alanis Morissette was released in 1995.]
Jacob said, "You are covered in shaving cream!" I said, "I know, it's freezing cold. But I'm hot anyway, right?" And he grinned. "Yeah, but not as hot as you usually are." He said it in a joking way, but it was still flattering.
Melanie was covered in shaving cream, too. I was standing with her, and Tyler said to her, "You look ugly with shaving cream all over you." She said, "Hey, don't call us ugly!" He said, "I didn't. I called you ugly. Emily is hot." I laughed. I know I shouldn't have. I should have stood up for her.
[Ugh. I was a terrible friend. I recently attended Melanie's wedding and I'm going to call her to apologize for this behavior right now.]
