Today is Sunday. Steph called and said she needed to come over to borrow my science book for homework. I said sure, and would she call Hannah to see if she’s going out with Zach yet?

When Steph came to get my book, she nodded and said, “She is.” My stomach knotted up.

I felt awful, like nothing was real. I am so confused. I had almost convinced myself that I could live without Zach, so why do I feel so depressed when he goes out with another girl? I guess I really do like him, just sometimes I don’t like the things he does.

And Hannah… oh, I am so mad at her! What a bitch. She knows I like him! Why would she pick him to go out with when she could have any boy in the sixth grade? I hope I can get through school tomorrow without crying in the bathroom.
