"He did my nails." I showed Landon the nail art Colby did on my fingers, watching him eye the black lines on the white paint, Colby grabbed the black nail polish that my brother wanted to use. "You can do a different color other than black" Colby noted and I watched Landon sink a little more into himself.

I could see the insecurity swimming around in his eyes and his brain ran with countless thoughts.

I felt sympathy for my brother, and anger at gender norms.

This felt so stupid. It felt so incredibly stupid that boys felt nervous to paint their nails anything other than black, because someone might say something.

It was so weird to think that if the world was backwards, how I would have felt.

I couldn't imagine wanting to paint my fingernails purple, but sticking to black because someone at school might say something, or someone might look at me weird.

"I'm not peer pressuring you. You know I love you. We can do whatever you want. If you want to do neon pink we can do neon pink. If you want to do black, we can do black" I smiled at my little brother.

Colby, Landon and I were currently sitting on the barstools in Sam and Colby's kitchen, my bucket of nail polish sitting next to us. Landon and I were on FaceTime last night, and he kept sending me pretty makeup looks, and one thing led to another, and he asked if I was willing to do "girly" things to him, and I couldn't help but roll my eyes when he added "I don't want to be a stereotypical gay"

It was supposed to be just Landon and I at my current living residence, but Colby had came home early from filming with someone named Amber, so he walked in on us digging through my nail polish bucket, and decided he wanted to join.

Ever since my brother decided to become a little more experimental with who he was as a person, he's always been nervous to share little things with new people.

It took a little coaxing to even let him consider me doing it on him, so Colby walking in on it made the hair on his body stand up.

I watched Colby fish out his phone from his pocket and then scroll through something.

"If you just want to do black, that's totally fine Landon" I leaned on my forearms, watching my little brother glance over all my nail polish. "If you want, we can paint them a color and then take it off with nail polish remover?"

"I feel like I'm being the stereotypical gay if I mess with girly things" He admitted softly and Colby scoffed.

"Nothing against gays, but I've painted my nails for years, and I very much like girls. It's nail polish man, one day someone woke up and said it was for girls, but it doesn't have to be. Just like one day someone woke up and was like "girls can like girls and boys can like boys" even though it used to be punishable by death. Live life for you. Don't give a fuck. If you want to paint your nails pink, paint them pink. It's hurting no one and pink is a pretty cool color" Colby stared directly into Landon's eyes, and I saw my brother let a small smile slip past his nervous exterior.

"Leigh, can you hand me the nail polish remover?" Colby asked and I nodded, sliding the bottle over to him.

Landon and I looked confused as we watched Colby flip the bottle upside down quickly and back upright, coating a cotton ball.

"Hey I spent hours on those!" I yelled, watching Colby take off my artwork.

Colby ignored me until his nails were cleared of the blue and green polish.

"Leighton, can you paint my nails a pretty pink color please?" He asked, spreading his hand out on the table in front of Landon and I.

"You don't have to do that-" Landon spoke quickly and Colby shook his head.

"I think pink is pretty and I'd love to see it on my nails. You live your life, I'll live mine" Colby told him and I felt my heart race as I grabbed the pink polish he had picked out from the bucket.

"I'd be happy to" I smiled at Colby, opening the pink polish up.

I coated the first nail, and Colby scrolled through his phone whilst I painted each finger, and I noticed Landon was intently watching.

When I finished, Colby smiled at his nails.

"Can we do white daisies?" He asked and I was surprised he even knew what those were.

Colby showed me a photo on his phone, and I felt my cheeks tighten as the smile grew on my face. I knew he didn't actually want his nails painted pink with cute little flowers on them, but it meant so much to me that he'd do this for my little brother, even if it was something as silly as nail polish. It truly meant a lot, and the worst part, is he didn't even know. He did it out of the goodness of his heart, wanting to make my brother feel more comfortable.

When I looked at Colby, I swear I saw a yellow glow surrounding his form. Some might even say I was starting to see him in a new light.

I grabbed a white detail polish pen, starting to work on his request, and when we were finished, Colby took a picture of his nails.

"Would you like a pretty color too, or do you want black?" Colby asked with a sincere look, even though we both knew what he was doing.

I watched Landon's cheeks flush. "Can I have pastel purple please?" He asked and I nodded. not hesitating before grabbing the purple polish.

I didn't want him to question himself any more than he already did.

"Do you want me or Colby to do it? Colby can do your nails and I can go grab my eye shadow if you want?" I asked, not wanting to pressure him into anything.

Landon nodded slowly and Colby smiled, taking the polish.

~

"These are so cute!" I squealed, seeing the tiny little white polka dots on the purple polish. "Colby, you're becoming quite the nail artist" I complimented, inspecting his work.

It was honestly flawless, I was extremely impressed.

"Thank you Colby" Landon flashed Colby an appreciative smile and I knew there was more behind it then I think he wanted to lead on.

When I walked downstairs, the air felt lighter and I couldn't help but wonder what had taken place whilst I was fetching the makeup.

"Anytime! It was my pleasure" Colby grinned and I smirked, reaching for my phone to go to my brother and I's text messages.

"Should we do Colby's makeup?" I asked my brother and Colby raised an eyebrow.

Landon grinned, and nodded. I smiled when I watched Colby scoot back against the barstool, getting comfy.

He didn't make any effort to show he was against it, or that he thought it was gross, or wrong, and I was extremely thankful. I was glad Colby was being a good sport, and I was honestly very thankful he came home early, and was able to help my brother feel comfortable in his own skin.

"Alright Colby, what do you want?" I asked, flipping open an eyeshadow palette.

I grabbed a pretty neutral palette of pinks, browns, grays and some darker purples.

After a couple minutes of all of us figuring out what to do, and looking at reference photos from our texts, I handed Landon the makeup brush.

"No! I'll fuck up!" Landon handed it back and I shook my head.

"We all start somewhere. I'm no makeup guru. I slather shit on my face and hope it looks good. Worst case, we grab a makeup wipe. Colby is your canvas, the shadow is your paint. Find your inner artist" I grinned and I watched Landon hesitantly rub the brush into some pink shadow.

"Okay James Charles" Colby laughed and I pursed my lips at him, letting him know his comment wasn't welcomed.

"You better be nice to us, or I will make you look like a clown. I'm not afraid to fuck up your face" I warned and Landon laughed.

"I remember when you fucked up Gabe's face. That was a good day" He snickered and I glared, noticing Colby's ear perk up.

"Oh? Do tell me more" He had a cocky gleam in his eye, holding back a grin.

"It was a long time ago" I tried to brush off but he shook his head, making me sigh.

"We got in an argument, I was high and punched him. It was a couple years ago. He forgave me" I shrugged, not wanting to talk about it.

It wasn't my best moment. I hated talking about the shit I did when I would use. Who that person was, isn't someone I'm proud of, and it isn't someone I want people to get to know.

If I could take it all back, I would, but sadly I can't.

I watched Landon grab some of the pigment and I told him to tap some of it off on the palate to try and prevent fallout.

I had primed Colby's eyelids whilst we were waiting, so it would be easier to take off, and hopefully not stain later.

I tried not to own stuff that stained or irritated my skin, primer or no primer, so hopefully we were all good, but I wanted to play it safe just in case.

We talked about my pregnancy and Landon's boyfriend whilst we did Colby's makeup. I gave a few tips as we went, but for the most part I let him do it by himself.

I was honestly impressed at how well he was doing. I definitely couldn't do some of the shit he was doing when I was his age, let alone now.

"That blending is flawless. What the fuck? Dude, I'm making you do my makeup from now on! I'm not even kidding!" I laughed, inspecting his work.

"I watch beauty videos in my free time" He confessed shyly and I grinned, nodding.

"So you're a cheater!" I teased and he rolled his eyes, handing me the brush.

We were doing a pretty pink smokey eye with white in the corners, some pretty highlight and a nude lip.

"Colby darling, you look gorgeous" I spoke in a bad Italian accent, knowing damn well if my Italian grandfather heard me, he'd give me a piece of his mind.

"Leigh if Nonno heard that, you'd be smacked across the room" Landon laughed.

My grandfather hated when people imitated his accent. Even if it came from a good place, he found it disrespectful to the culture, even if I was his granddaughter and in fact part Italian. I didn't grow up around it, so my Italian roots were extremely rusty.

"Mormor would be proud of me for trying though!" I fought, reaching for lashes. "Colby, do you want lashes?" I asked and he gave me a funny look.

"I have eyelashes" He said and I shook my head, holding up the enclosed lashes. "What the fuck is that" he asked making me laugh.

"Here are some pictures of me wearing them. See what it does to your eyes?" I asked, opening my gallery on my phone and grabbing a picture from my makeup looks folder.

"Whatever makes it look good" Colby said and I smiled, reaching for the lash glue.

I mouthed "thank you" to Colby and he nodded, closing his eyes for Landon to blend some of the makeup out.

When Landon finished, I asked him if he wanted to do lashes or liner first, and he said liner so I grabbed my eyeliner and handed it to him.

"I normally outline my wing, but a lot of people just wing it, no pun intended" I giggled, Landon nodding as Colby smiled, shaking his head a little at my unintended pun.

"Can you do it? I'm scared" Landon said and I nodded, grabbing the bottle back.

I didn't want to pressure him too much, and I knew how hard liquid liner could be, and I didn't trust myself or Landon not to stab Colby in the eye with the pencil.

My eyes stared into Colby's as I approached him, opening the bottle.

Colby closed his eyes, and I held my breath at how close I was to his face, carefully placing the eyeliner on his lid.

It took about 2 minutes to make sure they not only looked good, but matched.

I backed away and Colby opened his eyes, blinking a couple times. "They're sisters, not twins" I muttered.

"It's so wet, the sensation is weird" Colby noted, still blinking

"That's what she said" I muttered under my breath. I was pretty confident that no one heard it, until I looked up and Colby's jaw dropped in utter shock.

"LEIGH YOUR BROTHER IS RIGHT THERE!" Colby yelled in shock at the exact same time Landon yelled my name out.

Colby started laughing and Landon looked appalled.

I smirked, biting my bottom lip and putting the eyeliner back.

"He may be gay, but I don't think he's dumb Colby"

"EXACTLY I'M GAY, I DON'T NEED TO HEAR THAT! LET ALONE HEAR IT FROM MY SISTER!" Landon shrieked

"Surely you didn't think I was innocent? I'm pregnant. I didn't just wake up one day and there was a bump, I mean.. I did, but you know what I mean" I rambled and Landon shook his head.

"Tsk tsk tsk" He rubbed his pointer finger against his other pointer finger and I rolled my eyes.

"Please, as if you haven't done anything with your lover" I scoffed and Landon bit his lip, looking away.

"Oh?" I asked, raising an eyebrow as I placed some lash glue on the eyelash extension.

"Shut up Leighton" Landon grumbled and I grinned.

"Mom and dad would hate me for this, but like.. what's stopping you? Not like you're gonna get some chick pregnant" I motioned towards my belly and Landon laughed, shaking his head. "What?! C'mon, you got nothing to lose! If it makes you uncomfortable, I get it.. but like.. fooling around is fun" I shrugged, walking towards Colby who's cheeks had a slight red hue to them.

I placed the lash on Colby's eyelid, waiting for his reaction since he's never worn one before.

"Damn, they're heavy" He blinked a few times and I laughed, nodding as I grabbed the other one.

"It's not like I can just ask mom and dad what to do" Landon muttered and I pursed my lips, confused.

"What do you mean?"

"I've never done anything with guys or girls" He said and I rolled my eyes.

"Bro, I'm literally knocked up. I love you and all, but you can ask me anything. I have some experience canoodling with guys" I spoke and I heard Colby laugh really loud, making me blush since I kind of forgot he was here and we weren't close like that.

"Canoodling?" Colby questioned, giving me a weird look and I shrugged, my cheeks warming up a little bit as my ears had heat radiating off of them.

I placed the next lash on his eyelid, blowing air a little to try and help it dry.

"You look so pretty Colby!" I grinned, taking a few steps back to look at our work.

"Thank you! I feel like a million bucks!" He blinked rapidly before squinting, scrunching his face up and then blinked twice.

Landon and I finished up Colby's makeup and handed him a mirror, letting him inspect our work.

"It's weird to see myself in makeup, but if I loved makeup, I'd leave the house like this" Colby said and I raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah? Hey Landon, want to go to Target with Colby and I?"

~

It took little to no convincing to get Colby to leave the house with a face full of makeup, so before I knew it, Colby, Landon, and I walked into Target, grabbing a cart and heading towards the personal care aisle.

I knew this wasn't Colby's preference, and that he was doing it so if my brother got weird looks, he wasn't alone.

Landon had on some light shadow and a pretty glossy lip, Colby had on his makeup from earlier and I was wearing a pretty light brown eye with a light pink shadow. I was surprised Landon didn't want to make me look like a clown whilst he did it.

I pushed the cart and we picked up some toothpaste and body wash, losing Landon along the way.

Colby and I eventually found him looking at a model poster, and I smiled seeing he was standing in front of the highlight.

"If you want, we can go buy makeup from Sephora or something?" I suggested, startling Landon.

"No it's okay. You don't have to do that. I was just looking" He shrugged, walking over to me.

"Okay, well if you ever want to, let me know" I gave him a small smile and we somehow landed in the baby section, flashbacks to Jaylynn and I fighting filled my thoughts as we passed the onesies.

"God, Target is so expensive" I muttered, looking at the price tag on a cute 6 month onesie section, knowing I won't need it for a long time.

The more I looked at baby clothes, the more I let curiosity fill my thoughts on what the gender of the baby was.

I still felt like keeping it a surprise would be the best decision, but moments like this definitely let curiosity poison my choices.

I looked at cute dinosaur onesies, and "mommy's mini me" dresses, fawning over how adorable they looked.

I honestly couldn't wait to meet my little one, now being 12 weeks along.

I was incredibly thankful to Sam and Aaliyah, who convinced me to keep my baby for now, even if it was going to be a fight to figure everything out.

The pros of parenthood definitely outweigh the cons.

Every once in a while though, the thought of letting someone more fitting raise my baby crawled into my psyche, and I knew I needed to talk to Gabe about it, but the idea of having this conversation with anyone, let alone the father of my baby, was terifying.

I ended up on FaceTime with Sam, asking him what snacks he wanted whilst we were here. I was making my way towards the men's section, going to find Colby, when I heard "Are you Colby Brock?" towards my left and my eyes widened, remembering Colby was in a full face of makeup, and a fan had found him.

I spotted Colby and watched his eyes widen before recovering and nodding.

"Hey! Nice to meet you! What's your name?" Colby smiled at the teenage girl and then our eyes locked and I walked over towards him.

"Annika! It's nice to meet you too! I can't believe I ran into you at Target!" She grinned, biting the side of her lip and glancing away, her hand clutching her phone.

"Can you guys buy more Oreos? Colby ate them all again" Sam groaned, and I quickly turned my phone volume down, but it was too late

"Is that Sam?!" The girl asked and I froze, unsure what to say.

"Leigh?" Sam asked and Colby rolled his eyes, taking my phone and extending his arm so Sam could see him.

"Hey man! I actually have a fan of us next to me in Target who'd like to say Hi" Colby told him and then showed the fan the phone screen and I chuckled, knowing the phone was facing towards the ceiling because Sam was cleaning up the kitchen from breakfast this morning.

"One sec!" Sam yelled from afar.

"He was going to take out the trash. I called asking what he wanted for food" I informed Colby and he nodded, giving his attention back towards the fan.

"What do you think of my makeup?" Colby asked and I was surprised he was outright acknowledging it.

"I'm annoyed it looks better than mine" She giggled and Colby grinned, turning to face us.

"My roommate and her brother did it" He said and the fan turned towards us, her eyes widening, almost like she forgot we were there.
