I was still mad at Kat after what she had done only 15 minutes earlier, but it didn't stop me from being concerned when I saw her and Sam in what looked to be a pretty heated, yet quiet, argument.

They never fought, so seeing them whisper yell at each other raised a couple eyebrows.

Stas had decided to pull out the switch claiming, and I quote "I'm going to beat your ass in Mario Kart"

Which I told her to bring it on.

"Loser gets to post whatever they want to the other person's story, minus nudes" I noted, and Stas nodded.

"YOU'RE BEING A SORE LOSER!" She yelled, laughing.

"YOU CHEATED!" I shouted, pointing my finger at her as she bent over in hysterics.

"YOU PLAYED AS PRINCESS PEACH AND CAME IN LAST PLACE! Colby everyone but us are NPC's!" Stas kept laughing and I rolled my eyes.

"I want a rematch!" I declared and Stas laughed, shaking her head.

"No! Fair is fair! Hand over your phone loser!" She grinned, holding out her hand.

I sighed, unlocking it and handing it over.

I impatiently waited as she typed on my phone, before she handed it back.

I saw my profile photo had an ombre circle around it, which it hadn't had in a couple days. Clicking it, it read "Make the poll 50/50 and I'll leak my phone number"

I just looked up at her and locked my phone "That was the best you had?" I chuckled.

Stas and I had a rematch and we had gotten lost in the world that was Mario Kart, until I heard a lot of coughing and heavy breathing from behind us, followed by a loud bang and harsh sobs.

Everyone but Leighton seemed to be near us...

I felt my heart pound quicker as I opened and closed multiple doors, having no idea where it came from.

I finally heard her sobs coming from the closed bathroom, and I felt a pit form in my stomach.

I knocked on the door, asking if she was okay, but got no reply.

I became more concerned, knocking again. All I could hear was crying, and it was shattering my heart.

I hated hearing girl's cry. They didn't deserve that.

"Hey Leighton? It's Stas... I know you don't know me, but can I come in?" She asked softly, knocking on the door once again.

We heard her sobs get louder and I started frantically searching for the spare key.

I quickly found it and informed her that I was unlocking the door and coming in.

"Do you want a male or female to come in?" I asked as I pushed the key into the door.

I didn't get a response, so I just walked in. The sight in front of me is one I'd never forget.

Leighton was curled up in a ball against the wall, her head buried into the sleeves of her sweatshirt as her body shook.

Stas scanned the room, looking for anything to indicate what was happening whilst I sat down next to her, pulling her into the side of me.

The second my arm wrapped around her shoulders; I could feel how warm she was.

"Leighton? Can you take off your sweatshirt please?" I asked softly, having no idea of what reaction I'd get.

She only shook her head, which made my assumptions grow stronger.

Did she self-harm?

"Leighton, if I ask you a question will you be honest with me?" I asked, trying to calm her down.

I was hoping she'd be more open to telling me since we were alone.

Stas had gone to go fine Kat, since I knew Leighton and Katrina had seemed to be becoming friends, I figured Kat would be very helpful right now.

Leighton shrugged and I sighed, deciding just to ask her anyway.

"Do you hurt yourself?" I asked and her head lifted, her puffy cheeks and watery eyes met mine in a look of shock.

"I don't" She whispered, wiping tears from her eyes.

Did I believe her?

Was it a good idea to let her move in?

"Will you tell me what's wrong?"

"It's not important" She whispered again, balling her sweatshirt into the palms of her hands.

"Well, if it has you this upset, I'd like to help you"

"I'm... I'm okay" She stuttered.

Kat quickly walked in, squatting down next to Leighton.

"Hey hey hey, Is you know what, okay?" She asked, making me scrunch my face. Leighton nodded and Kat let out a sigh of relief. I looked over at her and Kat gave me a look that told me to shut my mouth.

"Do you want to tell me what's wrong?" She asked quietly, rubbing Leighton's back.

Leighton shook her head and took a deep breath.

I heard a sound and saw Sam was now standing in the doorway of the bathroom, looking confused.

He mouthed "What's wrong?" and I shrugged, looking over at Stas who looked uncomfortable.

I noticed her phone, seeing the screen light up and I couldn't help but glance.

Now I was even more confused.

"We can't help you, if you don't let us in" Kat pouted, sitting crisscrossed from Leighton.

Leighton sighed and handed Kat her phone.

"What happened though?" Kat asked and Leighton shook her head, rubbing at her eyes.

"It's not important. I'm sorry for scaring you guys. It's been a hard day. We can go hang out now" She brushed her hands on her thighs and before I knew it, Leighton was throwing up in the toilet, Kat holding back her hair. It was silent for a moment as we all looked at Leighton in concern, waiting. When Leighton spoke again, we all couldn't help but chuckle "God, what a horrible first impression"

I watched her wipe some more tears before standing up. We all stood up with her and Kat wrapped her in a hug. "You said you got me something?" Leighton asked Kat and Kat cackled, nodding.

"Of course you'd remember I had bought you a present. I told you that an hour ago" She laughed, and Leighton bit her lip, trying to stop the grin from taking over her facial features.

"Sorry for scaring you all. I'll be okay. Let's go have fun" she said, Sam getting out of her way so she could leave the bathroom.

Leighton was sitting on the couch, a gift in hand. Kat sat across from her, looking eager.

"I can open this in front of everyone, right?" She glanced over at Katrina, who nodded.

"What did you think I bought you lingerie? Please"

"No, I just... never mind" We watched her pull out a book that read "You're doing it all wrong. Dummy's 101: How to survive" Making her laugh. I smiled at her laugh, seeing Kat grinning like a Cheshire cat.

Once she thanked Kat, Kat and Sam asked if she wanted to play Mario Kart with them, "Leighton do you care if you're on my Instagram story?" Stas asked, pulling out her phone. I watched Leighton shake her head, which I thought was odd since she hadn't wanted to be in our YouTube video.

"Do you have a tag?" Stas asked and I watched her go to her explore page, ready to type the username, but much to our surprise Leighton shook her head.

"I don't have an Instagram" Leighton informed us, setting her controller down to dive into the Chicken Alfredo that had arrived whilst she was having a meltdown in the bathroom.

"How do you not have Instagram!?" Sam spoke loudly, flabbergasted.

"I never cared about Social Media. If you want to be in my life, you'll make time for me. I don't need some lousy how are you text or some dumb life update from you via your story"

"Note to self. Never text Leigh how are you" Kat giggled, nodding to herself.

"It's not that, I just don't like the things it does to you. I don't want to be sized up or judged or talked about or compared to. It isn't something I believe in. I don't want to think any differently of myself. I see no need to be involved in a digital world so extremely. Don't get me wrong, I take as many photos as any other person, I just don't post them on the internet. I don't mind being in posts and videos or whatever, cause like I'm hanging out with my friends and family, I just don't see the need to share them with others. I rather keep them private" Leighton shrugged.

"Is that why you didn't want to be in our video?" Sam asked and Leighton shook her head.

"I didn't want to be in it, because I wasn't in your life yet. I didn't want to be some rando in your YouTube video that everyone would wonder about. I don't mind being on social media content, I just prefer not to see the comments and such. I don't need it to mess with my mental state, and from what I've heard, your fans are possessive" She shrugged, grabbing her fork again.

"Where did you hear that?" Sam laughed and Leighton looked over towards Kat.

"Katrina!" Sam gasped. "Are you trying to scare away our new roommate?"

"No! She asked about you guys, and I told her that you guys get annoyed over how possessive fans get" Kat explained and Sam shook his head at her.

"It's really only Colby. Kat and I have been dating for so long, they stopped caring. Colby, get a girlfriend, date for five years and maybe they'll let you live your life" Sam joked but I glared at him, shaking my head and leaning back against the couch.

"Colby would rather play the field" Kat chimed in and Stas nodded, agreeing.

"No. I just haven't found anyone worth it" I muttered, hating the topic of conversation.

"Oh, but you can find many girls worthy of a late night wham bam" Kat raised an eyebrow and I smirked.

"You can only use your hand so many times. Sometimes you just need a good fuck" I shrugged and I saw Leighton's cheeks turn pink.

"I'm pretty sure most of your tinder DMs are you trying to get girls to fuck you" Stas laughed and I smirked again, not confirming nor denying the assumption.

"We travel so often though. I barely have time to fuck people. If anything, it's good ole sexting to get me off" I laughed and Sam shook his head at me.

"Get yourself a girlfriend brother, then you won't have that problem"

"Why would I get a girlfriend, if I can just open twitter and get free phonographic dms?" I asked and Kat gasped thencackled.

"BOYS ARE SO GROSS!" Katrina yelled, Stas nodding in agreement.

We were sat around in the living room, watching some of Sam and I's videos from when we visited cool places as part of our bucket list when Sam had brought up how he wanted to get even more into the paranormal and what I wasn't expecting was for Leighton to chime in, making all our jaws drop.

"You guys like scary, scary things? My cousin has worked at Waverly Hills for years, doing tours. I could hook you guys up" she said, and I don't know why, but Sam's first instinct was to pull out his phone and start recording.

"Do you care if you're in the video?" He asked, pressing the red button.

"It's fine" She shrugged, grabbing her plastic fork and pasta dish again.

I thought she didn't want to be in any of them?

"Okay hey guys I know this is really weird, but I just wanted to film this in case we actually make it happen, so we have the footage. This is our new roommate Leighton, we were just casually sitting here, eating some Olive Garden, and what did you just say?" he asked her, pointing his phone at her.

"I was telling them that my cousin does tours at Waverly Hills, and that I could try and hook them up if they wanted" She shrugged, taking a bite of her food making me chuckle.

"As she takes a bite of Alfredo! She was so nonchalant like yeah y'know, my cousin who works in one of the most haunted places in the world, and that is really hard to get into, I could hook you up" I mocked her actions, shrugged and taking a bite of my own food as I looked at the camera, covering my mouth as I chuckled.

"You guys said you liked scary places so" She shrugged, eating more of her food.

"That's one of the hardest places to book!" Sam exclaimed "And we just so happen to meet someone who has a connection to the place!?" He exclaimed; his mind clearly blown. "Bro who did we let live in our house?" Sam laughed, turning the camera towards Leighton and Kat.

"You guys just attract the crazies!" Kat exclaimed.

"Y'know that makes you one too, right?" Sam smirked and she pursed her lips, trying not to grin.

"I've made it this far" Kat's face broke out into a smile making Leighton giggle.

"Would you be down to come with us?" I asked Leighton and I saw her face scrunch a little.

"To Waverly Hills? That is not my thing" She chuckled, eating more of her food.

"You should've seen her trying to get down to the FazeRug tunnel. I can't imagine Leighton doing half the things you guys do" Kat laughed and Leighton's cheeks got a little more flushed.

"Kat, you don't even want to do the things we do" Sam defended Leighton before turning back towards the camera. "Anyway we'll talk more about you joining us if it actually happens" Sam smirked.

"Here, I can call her" Leighton reached for her phone and we all waited as we listened to the dial tone.

Leighton put it on speaker as someone answered.

"Hello?" A feminine voice answered.

"Hey Casey! It's Leighton"

"Oh hey! How are you?"

"I'm doing good! I was calling because I was actually curious if you were able to see if you could do something for me?"

"And that is?"

"Well, my friends Sam and Colby make paranormal YouTube videos, and I was wondering if there was any way you could help me schedule them in for an investigation at Waverly?"

"I mean, what are you looking for? We're pretty booked" This Casey person asked and I could feel my heart race as we all held our breath, waiting for a confirmation.

The fact that we could possibly be booking one of the most infamous haunted places in the country felt like a fever dream.

"Is there any way we could go between tours?" Leighton bit her lip, glancing up at us who were impatiently waiting.

"I mean, we've let people do overnight stuff between the last night tour, and the next morning tour. I can ask if we have a clearing" She suggested, and Leighton grinned.

"I ask because they film for YouTube, and have millions of subscribers, and it would be nice if we could go when there wasn't anyone around. That way it's easier to debunk y'know?" Leighton spoke and Sam and I made eye contact, both of showing how bad we were mentally crossing our fingers right now.

"Yeah I get it. I don't have stuff this year, but I have some stuff next year that we could work out for that? I just need to double check with Lacy" She said and I squinted my eyes.

"That would be great! Also, tell Lacy I say hi! I would text her. It's been a while" Leighton rambled and the girl on the other line said she would, before she quickly interrupted herself. "Wait! I have a rule!" This Casey girl stopped Leighton, and I watched her eyes widen. "You have to come with them! One, because you never do this shit and two, because I haven't seen you in forever!" Casey informed her and I watched Leighton's face pale a little as Sam and I high fived yelling "Hell yeah!" Since that's what we wanted in the first place.

"You want my very first ghost experience to be in that place?" Leighton spoke in an unsure tone.

"I mean, if you go with your friends to other places, it wouldn't be your first" I smiled hearing the smirk lace within the tone of her voice as Leighton rolled her eyes.

"I hate you"

"Hey! You wanted the favor!" Casey laughed.

"Yeah, not to be dragged into it!"

"C'mon Leigh! It will be fun!" Casey coaxed.

"Ugh fine" Leighton groaned and we all cheered.

Leighton said goodbye and hung up, leaning back and slouching on the couch with a sigh.

Sam had stopped recording and Stas had entered the room, scaring the crap out of Sam.

"I'm going to need to put a bell on you!" He pointed at her as she laughed.

Leighton looked confused as I explained "Stas has been scaring Sam whenever we see her" I chuckled.

"On my way back from the bathroom, I made a pitstop and I'm forcing you all to play" Stas held up the game of Monopoly and everyone cheered but Leighton.

"Do you not want to play?" Kat asked her, seeming bummed.

"Um, I'm just going to go to bed, I have an interview for a job at 7 tomorrow. Thanks for all this though" She spoke quietly, her demur changing drastically.

"Oh, okay, well good luck on your interview tomorrow! Hope you land it! Now, I'm thinking since there is an even number, we all play on teams of two. I say Sam and Kat verses Colby and I" Stas suggested, not registering the change of mood.

"You, Kat and Sam can play. I'm going to go make sure she is okay" I got up and b-lined for the stairs, following Leighton.

"Colby!" Stas yelled, but I ignored her.

Why was Leighton upset?

I knocked on her closed door and heard a soft, "come in".

I walked in and saw Leighton was sitting on her bed, legs crossed, staring at her phone.

"Are you okay?" I asked, standing next to her bed.

She nodded, letting out a small sigh.

"Why didn't you want to play Monopoly?"

"It's something I used to play with my best friend. It's this whole thing" She mumbled, and I watched her eyes water. There was a moment of silence before she inhaled through her nose and looked up at me. "Look. I appreciate you trying to act like you care, but I'm fine. You don't need to worry about me. You barely know me" She mumbled towards the end, and I watched her almost poke her eye out with her fingernail as she tried to rub them, her makeup smudging a little.

"What makes you think I don't care?" My eyes narrowed a little as I intently watched her every move.

"Why would you?" She snapped, quickly moving to look at me. "I literally just moved in. You've never shown interest in me before, so why are you trying now?" She grumbled and I was taken aback.

Is that what she thought?

"What do you mean?"

"When I did the interview, you barely showed interest-"

"I was tired from editing-"

"At bowling you cared more about your friends than trying to get to know me, which was the reason Sam invited me in the first place. He wanted me to try and get to know the roommates, which by the fucking way, was the worst idea. There were so many people there, that by the end of the night I still only knew the people who I went in with" She rolled her eyes and wiped another tear away.

"I'm sorry that my focus wasn't only on you, is that what you want to hear?" I snapped, feeling like I was being cornered for not giving her attention.

In all honesty, I was tired of her mood swings for no reason.

It was exhausting.

"That's not what I meant! I just... I really wanted this to work out. For this to go well, but the only person I've seemed to click with is Kat, and she doesn't even live here. I don't want to be miserable here, but that's apparently how it will be. I'll pay you money and you'll barely know I'm here. I'm sorry for the mood swings, the constant crying, and the snapping. I'll try to not be around you guys anymore" She snapped. "Please leave my room"

I mentally sighed and got up to leave. Right before I closed the door I noted

"You've got it all wrong"
