《I'm falling for my Ex Fiancé - (BOOK 2)》Part 22 - Just keep it

It was the night where the Hamilton was inviting us into their Company's Anniversary, mom seemed so excited cause she was going to meet her friends there which was making me happy to see her happy. And i had to come cause i had to make sure that my mom wasn't alone plus i respected Philip and Daisy for being so care to our family.
Gabriel, he wasn't sure that he could come or not cause Laura was feeling not well all day. But that was okay at least there was one of us from the family to support our corporation partner.
I looked into myself reflection on the mirror, it was a red maroon dress that had a spaghetti strap that I bought with sarah a few days ago. My hair was Falling straight as normal, cause I didn't want to look too fancy for a company anniversary. It wasn't my birthday and there was nobody to impress.
"Darling you ready?" My mom appeared to my closet.
"Of course mom" i said.
"You look beautiful" i said to her who was wearing a black satin dress for tonight.
"Oh darling you're very beautiful too" she said to me.
"Lets go we cannot be late" she said looking so happy and excited.
~
We arrived at the hotel which there were so many people were wearing a fancy dress and clothing for this company annual event every year. Mom and i walked out of the car together and i could see some of the papz were taking a picture of my mom and i.
My mom and i entered the venue where i could see a fancy decoration inside of the Venue and a big screen at the stage showing the anniversary year of Hamilton land company.
They actually prepared a round table for my family with our last name on it, each round table got 5 chairs. It supposed to be for my mom, Gabriel, Laura, Jacob and i but there were only two of us that could come that night. Mom looked so excited to see so many people there i could see in the way she smiled, and laughed with her friends.
"Lana can i go over there, i think i see one of my friends" she said the i calmly nodded, i would do anything she asked and I would give anything she wanted, she's my only parent and I couldn't imagine if i loose her.
My eyes were stick around her all the time wherever she goes and whoever she talked to, as long as she was happy and forget being alone.
I suddenly felt someone was sitting on the chair next to me, without looking into who was it i just knew it was him. I still had my both of eyes sticked around my mom until it felt hurt and a hot tear suddenly fell from my eyes, I whipped it with the back of my hand cause I couldn't look like this in front of her. It was going to make her felt guilty and i didn't want her to blame herself.

I could see that Apollo was staring at me from the corner of my eyes, he started to take a handkerchief from her suit then gave it to me. I slowly took it then began to whipped away my tears, i hope no one saw me crying except him.
"I'm sorry" i said giving back his handkerchief.
"Just hold it as long as you want" he said and i decided to keep it just in case there was going to be another tears falling from my eyes.
My mom suddenly gave me a signal that she was going to sit with her friends then i nodded in an agreement, i couldn't say no to her after what she had been through.
"Here you need some drink" he said while handing me a cup of red syrup.
"Thank you" i said Before started to drink it.
"Oh this is awful I cannot cry" i said to myself while covering my nose with his handkerchief, it was so embarrassing to cry in front of your ex just because of a family problem.
"Of course you can" he said with low voice.
"But this isn't a perfect time and a perfect place" I said to him.
He suddenly got up from his seat which made me confused, what is he going to do next?
"Lets get out of here" he said to me.
"I can't my mom?" I asked him.
"She's having a good time with her friends" he said and it made me turn my head and found her looking happy.
He was right i needed a little break from this emotional situation, away from the people. Talking to them was going to make me feel worse, even they didn't know what just happened with mom but it wasn't a perfect time to talk to people.
I followed him into one of the door then he lead us into the big hall that had a perfect view of the Hollywood cliff, there was no one there. It was only a guy and a lady that cried because of her mom.
He closed the door behind him before joining me to look into the view in front of us, why do i have to be so emotional right now at the wrong place, wrong time. but i felt he wasn't the wrong person to accompany me. I felt comfortable for him to see me crying and the way he gave me the handkerchief reminds me of our old days that we spent together.
"You can cry now" he said in the middle of the silent between us.
Just like what he said i started to cry and let it out just like that, her cold gaze was staring at me bringing a cold empty feeling around us. I slowly felt an arm on my arm, he was trying to comfort me with just a single touch.

But with a single touch it brought up the whole memories we made back in our teenage year. But it was strange that i feel safe and comfortable to be around him,
I couldn't feel like this i have another man that happens to be my boyfriend.
We stayed like this for a while until he finally started the conversation while both of us kept looking into the view in front of us.
"You can cry but you can't keep blaming on yourself okay" he said to me.
"Your boyfriend told me you keep blaming on yourself, and you have to know that's not your fault" he said.
"How can you say that it isn't my fault" i said with a low tone.
"My mom has been there the whole time and she told me how proud your mom is with you" he said and this time it made me turned to face him, i was expecting to see his pair of blue eyes but it turned out for me to see his left side that showing his sharp jawline.
"Trust me She's so proud of you" he said and somehow it made me feel a lot better.
"She's also very excited when you finally graduate" he said and his eyes finally looking down at mine, his pair of blue eyes that i used to stare at it for so long were looking back at mine now.
"It isn't your fault" he said.
I stayed in a silent and actually felt a lot better after he told me that, i just hope that he wasn't lying to me.
"Thank you" i said.
"For what?" He asked me and now i could see a smile on his face, i could see the way he teased me.
"For helping me to carry all those chickens back to the farm house" i joke and it made him laugh.
"That was my first time ever carrying a chicken" he said and it made me laugh.
"Really?" I asked him while smiling trying to remember the time when we were running around the lake house to chase the chicken.
"Yeah, it was fun though" he said and his smile somehow making me smile.
"I heard that you quit your job in England" he said and it made me laugh.
"I actually lost it" i laugh.
"Really? Why?" he was looking at me with a smile on his face.
"I told the hospital where i used to work at that I'm going to be back in 2 weeks but then I didn't show up for a month so i just lost it" i said.
"It's a good thing though so i can stay here with my mom" i said.
"It's a good thing though but how about your boyfriend is he okay with you staying here?" He asked me and he sounds okay with that.
"I haven't told him but i think he's going to be just fine" i said.
He nodded his head, he was leaning into the balcony with both of his hand on his chest. His eyes were admiring the view of the cliff which was very cool.
"I'm sorry for being an asshole that day" he said.
We stayed in a silent as he started to bringing up the topic about what we had, i wasn't expecting that he was going to bring up the topic.
"Lets just forget it, we're an adult now" i said to him.
"We can still be a good friend with one another" i said to him.
"Really?" He asked me.
"Yeah" i said smiling.
I sipped on the drink the let out a breath before started to talk to him,
"It's been a really tiring day" i said.
"Why?" He asked.
"It's been so hard for me to fall asleep after what happened to mom" i said to him.
"I'm scared to close my eyes" i said, and i felt surprise that i could talk like this again with him.
"It is so easy for my eyes to fluttered open, it seems I'm scared I'm going to missed something" i said.
That was the first time ever i had a good talk with him, it felt right and also comfortable to talk to a person like him.
"So you were staying up all night these days?" He asked and i could see him looking at me from the corner of my eyes.
"Kind of" i said.
"I need a sleep, but I can't" i said.
"This is my number, you can call me if you cannot sleep at night" he suddenly gave me a white card with his name and number on it.
I slowly took it from his hand, the world around seemed stopped for a moment. I wasn't expecting he was going to give me his number.
"But you're a busy man, busy man need a sleep it is very important for your energy and it helps you to concentrate at work" i said to him.
He just stay in a silent with both of his hand rest on his pocket, he was only looking at me and I couldn't read his expression. It was so easy to read his expression back then but after a few years, it was so hard for me to understand.
"Just keep it"
"I'll be there as a friend" he said.
