What was all that about?

Alexander literally just left without no explanation at all.

I had to admit I was a little hurt, especially after what had just occurred and how I confessed my feelings for him.

I nearly jump out of my skin as my phone goes off from somewhere in the room.

Who could that be?

Reaching for my phone on the bedside table, I see a familiar number peering back at me.

Why was I getting a call from Alexander's office?

Answering the call, Natalie's voice reaches my ears.

"Nora you need to get here pronto."

"What why?" I ask confused.

"Well since you're Alexander assistant and not to mention fiancée, I would assume you're needed here." Is all she says before hanging up.

I almost forgot that everybody would now know about the two of us.

This would make working at his office a hundred times harder.

Getting up quickly, I see if I have any time to shower but decide against it because this sounded pretty important.

Rummaging through my wardrobe, I find something comfortable and hurriedly don it.

Making sure to grab my phone, I head off into the street to find a taxi.

Everything looked calm.

Completely different from what I had imagined of people running to and fro, maybe fire and smoke coming from one of the windows.

The only out of ordinary thing I saw was Natalie, the receptionist standing outside in the parking lot.

Smiling at her, she quickly points inside the lobby.

Frowning I head inside, only to stop short at the sight in front of me.

What the hell was Sam doing here?

Striding ahead and closer to the two people, they don't seem to notice me, too engrossed in one another.

"Is that anyway to treat your cousin, Alexander?"

My entire body freezes as I let out a low gasp.

Confusion and shock spreads through me as I stand there, rooted to my spot,

"Cousin?" I question aloud at the same time Alexander does.

Both Alexander and Sam whip their gazes to me, Alexander's full of shock and worry while Sam held nothing but smugness in his eyes.

Stepping closer to them I notice Alexander's out stretched hand in my direction.

Looking from him to Sam, I finally step closer to Alexander and grasp his hand in mine, feeling him visibly relax.

Alexander sighs out loud before motioning to Sam.

"Lets just go up to my office to discus this." He says stiffly, still not letting my hand go.

Hundreds upon hundreds of questions were swarming through my mind.

So much so that I didn't even pay much heed to the tense and awkward atmosphere that followed us all the way from the lobby to the elevator with Alexander lodged in right beside me, preventing any contact with Sam, not that I wanted any.

This tense silence followed us into Alexander's office as we all sat down.

Alexander was being unusually quite, especially in the presence of Sam.

"What's going on?" I finally voice out, tired of the tense silence.

Sam simply smirked and looked at me, which made Alexander scowl and pull my chair closer to him.

"You're being delusional." Alexander finally mutters out, looking as serious as ever.

"You might want to ask your dear cousin Damien then if you don't believe me." Sam speaks up.

Damien?

Why does that name ring a bell?

Blue eyes and jet black hair flare in my mind as I remember the night of the event.

Alexander's friend, the one who held him back from attacking the very man before us.

From what I gathered of Damien during our brief introduction, he didn't strike me as the gossip and trivial type.

There was something off about that guy.

"What does Damien have to do with any of this?" Spits out Alexander, slightly rising in his chair.

"Well you should really be asking him shouldn't you?" Muses out Sam.

I nearly roll my eyes at his childish behaviour.

All Sam ever wanted to do was cause drama and wreak havoc wherever he went just for the thrill of his own amusement.

"All I'm saying is you might want to talk to that dear old uncles of yours. He has a lot of explaining to do."

"Is this all fun and games to you Sam? Do you like showing up at my office just to piss me off?" Alexander questions glaring at him.

"Yes and no." Sam says in amusement but quickly adds, "I'm actually here to say goodbye."

This time I do roll my eyes.

Sam was being more dramatic than usual.

"I'm heading off to England, my companies branched off over there so I'm going to look over it." He answers in an off hand tone.

"Good for you." Alexander says sarcastically.

"It is isn't it. Well anyways I should head out." Sam says pleased.

Like that asshole hadn't made my social life a living hell.

"Maybe I'll see the both of you some other time."

"I doubt it." Alexander comments, the glare in his eyes still present.

"Well then." Mutters Sam.

With one last look Sam was out of the door and hopefully out of our lives.

"What was that all about?" I murmur, looking over at Alexander.

"It's probably nothing, you know how dramatic the idiot is, still I need to have a word with Damien."

I nod my head in reply and get up from my seat.

"Where are you going?" Questions Alexander.

I just shake my head and motion for Alexander to open his arms.

He does so and I don't even spare a minute to climb and snuggle into them.

"Sorry about leaving you so fast." Alexander murmurs into my hair.

"It's fine, you had a jackass to deal with."

Alexander laughs lightly, his breath tickling my ear.

"Oh by the way." Alexander continues.

"Yeah?" I question.

"Your mother messaged me. She'll be here with the rest of your family next Friday." He answers calmly.

"Wait what." I state as I sit up right.

"Yup." Is all he says.

"Oh God, why couldn't you tell them you were busy or something." I groan out.

"We have to do this sometime Nora."

"I guess your right." I sigh.

"Dramatic as ever, I see." Alexander laughs.

"Yeah yeah." I say slapping him gently on the shoulder before reaching up to kiss him firmly on the lips.

"You know I wasn't quite done with you." Mumbles Alexander against my lips.

"Well what a surprise, neither was I." I mumble back, grinning.

"We need to fix that as soon as possible." He groans, playing along before picking me up without any notice.

I squeal out loud as I grab onto him for dear life.

"Shh, we don't want to make too much noise." Alexander grins.

I'm about to reply just as Alexander kisses me back, all my protests and snarky comments going down the drain as I respond back.
