《Mr. Executive》Chapter 32

Nora Davis P. O. V
My mouth is probably on the floor right now as I stare at Alexander in bewilderment.
The bewilderment slowly starts to disintegrate into disappointment.
I really was daft to think anything could have happened wasn't I?
Getting off of the sofa, I barely even give the troubled looking man a second glance.
Rushing as fast as I could onto the second floor and through the maze he calls his hallway, I finally reach the master bedroom.
Grabbing my dress and heels from last night, I go into the bathroom to change.
I lock the door and then march over to the sink to splash cold water onto my face, in hopes that it will clear my befuddled thoughts.
'No strings attached.'
I almost wanted to laugh at the moron.
Maybe I was too over analysing and over thinking the whole thing.
I felt like I was being too over dramatic but to hell with that.
My thoughts are brought to a halt as a knocking on the door resonates through the bathroom.
"Nora." Alexander calls out.
I don't answer him and quickly try to change.
"Nora please upon the door. You didn't even let me finish."
That brings me to a halt, Alexander's shirt mid way off.
Bringing my arms back down to my side I slowly inch towards the door.
"I know what I said came out wrong but just let me explain will you?"
Deciding that I may as well give him a chance, I hesitantly unlock the door.
The door knob twists and the door swings open towards my side to reveal a sheepish looking Alexander leaning against the door frame.
He grabs my hand which I almost pull out of his grip until the look he gives stops me.

Leading me to the still unmade bed, he sits me down before sitting next to me.
I look at him with a blank look covering my face as he sighs.
"Okay, so I don't know how to put this into words without sounding like a complete idiotic sap."
"Just tell me Alexander." I say calmly, trying not to get worked up about it.
"No strings attached was the only thing I could think of at that point. You took me by surprise. Look Nora you know I have feelings for you. Even though I was a jerk towards you in the beginning and I would say I'm sorry but honestly I'm not, I enjoyed your little reactions to everything. Hopefully you like me too but I don't know how to go about this. The last time I went on a date was when I was fourteen."
"There's a first time for everything." I respond back softly.
"There is," he says grinning. "So will you go out with me on a second date whenever possible? And we forget the whole no strings attached thing?"
For some reason, I start laughing.
Probably due to the way he worded it and the disturbed and awkward look on his face.
Or maybe it was because I was thrilled.
We were probably moving too fast with all this but I knew I liked him and he liked me so why the hell not?
"Um Nora, this is the part where you say yes and kiss me." He laughs out nervously.
Laughing some more, I do just that.
"Of course I'll go out with you once again."
And with that both our lips meet in a soul searing kiss.

The car comes to a halt as Alexander and I reach my apartment building.

"I forgot to thank you for the date. I had a great time."
"You're welcome. I did too."
We both lean in and kiss, the somewhat familiar sparks igniting between us once more.
Alexander groans and just as the kiss starts to become more intense, a familiar ringtone blares in the car.
Alexander pulls away scowling, muttering things under his breath while I pull my phone out of my clutch.
"Hello?"
"Ugh Nora what the hell. I've been calling you for ages. You were getting me worried."
"Oh sorry Candice I was kind of busy." I say sheepishly into the phone.
"Busy with who hmm? A certain boss of yours? One of your many lovers."
Alexander's scowl deepens as he hears her words coming from the phone.
"She's joking." I mouth to him while rolling her eyes.
He simply huffs before mumbling.
"Damn right she is."
"Oh my gosh. You dirty hoe." Squeals Candice.
Luckily Alexander doesn't hear her and I ask her to hold on while I get out of the car.
Alexander kisses me one last time after which I head into my apartment building.
*********
Laughing once more at Candice's words, we both bid our farewells and I hang up.
I had told Candice of everything that had gone down during the date and everything, which she severely guilt tripped me on as I hadn't told her.
Even though I had repeatedly informed her that he had randomly showed up to my apartment.
But no she wouldn't take that.
I felt so much better now that I was home and in my bed, even though it was around three in the afternoon.
Reflecting back on everything I was glad things had worked out the way they had.
I was admittedly scared that after our date he would freak out and go all harsh and mean on me.
That's why I asked him what I had, even though it was soon.
I'm glad it went for the better then for the worst.
My mood instantly brightens as I get another text from Alexander.
My smile almost stretches my face in half as I giggle like a school girl.
I reply back to him almost instantly, not having the time to do that whole waiting thing which apparently makes the other person grow fonder or some crap like that.
I was way too impatient for those games.
Not even a second is spared as I get a message back from him.
We continue like this back and forth for quite a while even though we had literally just seen each other a little more than an hour ago.
Just as I enter back into my bedroom, plate of pasta in hand, my phone goes off once again.
I just can't seem to stop smiling.
Picking up my phone I swipe to enter into my messages.
My blood runs cold as an unknown numbers' message lies in my inbox.
Hesitantly tapping on it, my blood runs cold at what it says.
