《Mr. Executive》Chapter 28

I have no idea what to wear.
Judging from Alexander's attire, something along the lines of formal.
But how formal?
Like red floor length dress formally or cute short dress formal?
Is that even formal?
"Ugh."
Knowing I'm going to be late if I don't get my butt into gear, I quickly hop into the shower, knowing that time is of the essence.
Coming out of the shower, wrapped up firmly in a towel,I step out of the bathroom all shaved and
lotioned up.
"Um...."
I shriek at the sight before me, which was a coy looking Alexander laying sprawled out on my bed.
Looking from left to right and then from him to me, I quickly scurry to the bathroom door.
Taking cover behind the door, I stick my head out, face all blazing from embarrassment.
"What the hell?"
"I wanted to know what was taking you so long." H says sheepishly.
Glaring at him with all I have,I let out a huff.
"I thought I locked the door."
"Well you thought wrong didn't you love?"
Scowling at him, I motion for Alexander to get out but he doesn't.
"Nope, I'm thoroughly enjoying myself." He says smirking.
"Please turn around then, at the very least." I plead at him.
I don't even know why I'm not kicking him out of the room.
I mean it's my apartment for gods sake.
Peeking my head back around, I see Alexander turned away from me and towards the wall with his hands over his eyes.
Smiling a little, I quickly scurry over to my wardrobe as fast as I can with a towel wrapped around me and grab the dress that I had decided to go with alone with some heels.
Running back into the bathroom, I hear Alexander groan as I close the bathroom door shut.

"That wasn't fair Nora."
I roll my eyes at his childish and pervy behavior, quickly slip my dress on and do my makeup and hair as quickly as I can.
Slipping my heels on, I stare at myself into the mirror,I had just managed to cram into the small bathroom, and am incredibly pleased by how I look.
After this date I knew I had to go and thank Stella for the gorgeous dress she had made me take, as a gift she had insisted.
The black knee length sweetheart neckline was fitted at the bust till my waist and then flowed outwards from the bottom.
The silver embroidery against the black made it look even more elegant and beautiful and I hoped Alexander liked it as much as I did.
I didn't have much time to straighten my unruly curly hair so I tried and thankfully managed to put it up in a somewhat neat updo with a few curls hanging out around my face.
My makeup was done, not too much, with simple eyeliner, mascara and some lipstick.
As for my heels, I had to thank Stella for them once again as the black lace high heels fit me perfectly.
Taking a deep shaky breath, I held the bathroom door handle.
I was suddenly so nervous for what Alexander would think of me.
This was the first time I was actually getting ready for him, since he was the one taking me out on a date.
Exhaling, I open the door to find Alexander looking at one of the small photographs of me and my parents on my dresser table.
Stepping out of the bathroom, my heels clicking on the floor make Alexander turn towards me.
The look on his face makes all my previous insecurities vanish as he looks at me with so much adoration and something else I can't clearly identify.

"Holy shit."
The words leaving his mouth makes me giggle slightly.
"Remind me to thank Stella for this because damn." He says still not looking at my face and staring at the dress.
Walking over to me, he kisses me gently and cups the side of my face with his hand.
"You look absolutely beautiful, more than words can describe."
Ah shit.
I think I died and went to heaven.
Being my sarcastic self, I smile and look up at him "I wish I could say the same for you."
He narrows his eyes at my teasing and scoffs.
"Honey I look fabulous."
Laughing at his words, he smiles at me and places his hand on my back escorting me out of the bedroom and then finally as I make sure everything is turned off and locked up, we leave the apartment.
Getting into his car, I look at Alexander and try to get information out of him one last time.
"So...," I drag out. He looks at me and motions for me to continue. "Where exactly are we going?"
"Nope, not going to work Davis. You just have to wait and see. Stop pouting at me, it's not going to work."
Huffing at him, I look out the window.
At least I tried.
After a short while, we finally pull up to a nice fancy looking restaurant.
Everyone was dressed up in formal attire and looked so pristine and almost like royalty.
Okay maybe the last one was pushing it a bit but still.
"Where are we?" I question looking over at Alexander as he parks into a parking spot.
"Well okay I may or may not have asked your friend Candice for a little help." He says as a light tinge of pink coats his cheek.
I laugh as I think of Candice freaking out when Alexander tells her he's taking me out on a date and then her threatening him as well at the same time.
Almost as if reading my thoughts Alexander huffs out a "your friend is surprisingly scary."
Smiling at him I ask him why.
"She threatened to castrate me if I hurt you in any even if the date is less than perfect."
Laughter spills out of me at the tormented look on poor Alexander's face.
He looked somewhat traumatized but I didn't blame him.
Candice was most definitely a lot to handle.
I wonder how her boyfriend George puts up with her mood swings and fiery attitude constantly.
"To answer your previous question we are at," he says pointing to the small sign above the restaurant doors that stated what it was called.
Cutting him off mid sentence, I turn to him wide eyed.
"You did not." I say almost squealing.
"Yup" he simply says.
"But how? I mean this place is booked for like a whole year."
I'm not even exaggerating, the restaurant was so incredibly good and not to mention expensive that getting a reservation here was almost next to impossible.
"Yo forget who I am babe." He says smugly. "Now come on, we don't want to be late."
And with that Alexander steps out of the car and comes to my side, pulling the car door open and escorting me to the restaurant.

A Girl and Her Food
When a lost girl wakes up without a name, she quickly finds herself alone in a way that people around her can’t fix. Without a real plan and desperate to find what’s wrong with her, she thrashes and bites to stay alive. But human beings are weak things, that band together for strength, no matter who we are. Now if only she could work up the courage to ask one question... It’s normal to get stronger when you drink the blood of monsters. Right? Things to expect: - A powerful but kinda neurotic and emotional protagonist, with some degree of weak to strong. Or maybe strong to stronger, honestly. She's pretty rational and practical about things but won't always make the best decisions, so be warned if you super-dislike characters doing dumb stuff for emotional reasons sometimes. - Lots of dialogue and characterization, especially as we get more into it. It's focused on a single POV, but there might be some sections of other POVs later on, I'm not sure right now. - Magic is on the softer side, but I'll try to keep things fleshed out enough to avoid any obvious "well-established magic could have seemingly instantly solved this problem" moments. - I didn't add the mystery tag because I feel like it implies that this is a detective novel or something, but the story is absolutely incredibly opaque at times. So you'll have the most fun if you go into it trying to puzzle out the nature of events before they're explicitly explained!😇 - Also, I added the genre for completion, but it's gonna take a while to get to the romance. Please wait warmly and have some tea. Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge!
