《Mr. Executive》Chapter 4

My hand hovers in the air, poised to knock on the door for a second time when a husky and irritated voice answers from the other side.
"Come in".
I twist the door handle and nervously take a step in, not looking in front of me as I turn to lightly close the door.
Turning around, I look up and just stare well more like gawp at the spectacle before me.
Sitting at the table was an Adonis with soft brown eyes, killer jawline and perfect dark chocolate brown hair mussed up in that bed head style while still managing to look completely professional. Regal, just like an angel sent from above.
Sitting calmly at his desk with an eyebrow raised he stared at me.
Quickly rearranging my features into as much of a professional look as I could muster I walk over to his desk.
How the hell could someone look so beautiful?
He isn't anything like what I had imagined him to look like.
Where's the beer belly and foul breath and dead ass looking eyes?
"Um Jeff Stevens from the head of the finance department sent me here to give you this envelope".
As I say this I place the manilla envelope down and quickly turn to walk away when a voice stops me from behind.
"Who the hell are you?".
Turning around I look at him in surprise "um excuse me, sir?"
"Are you deaf? I asked who you were. I haven't seen you around before and if I had I would've remembered".
Did the guy just compliment me and insult me in the same sentence?
How dare he?
Still trying to remain civil and polite, I try to smile kindly and not like I wanted to kill the man.
"I just got hired. It's my first day here".

"Okay and what are you still doing here?" he says flicking me away with a wave of his hand.
What the heck?
Feeling insulted and angry I glare at him while his plump lips curl into a smirk showing pearly straight white teeth.
With one more sharp look his way I turn around and walk straight back to the lift with my head held high and trying to regain as much of the confidence as I could that I had lost just back there in the office.
****
"Finally" I breathe out in relief while Candice who's in front of me nods in agreement.
The whole day had turned a complete one eighty.
It had started out so good and exciting and then left me irked and irritated after my meeting with that arrogant rude man.
Obviously as soon as I had come back and informed Jeff of the deliverance of the envelope I went back to Candice who was sitting eagerly, waiting for me to dish out why I had come back looking so forlorn and irked.
After I had told her she laughed but couldn't say anything about him being an ass towards me because she had never met him in person herself.
With a sigh I pick up my handbag and say goodbye to Candice who was staying back a bit late to do some extra work.
After that I head over to Jeff's office and inform him that I'm leaving and ask if he needs anything to which he replies in negative.
Stepping into the elevator I lean my head back against the cool metal and close my eyes thinking over the whole day.
The beeping of the elevator makes me open my eyes open as it comes to a halt.
Slowly the doors pry open to reveal none other than the jerk face who had somewhat ruined my day.

Alexander James.
He looked me over and then stepped in with that stupid smirk still plastered onto his face.
His suit fitting him perfectly with the blazer form fitted showing off his toned body and slacks that were tight around the ankles.
I nearly swooned right then and there but then remembered I was still angry at the jerk.
He towered over me making me feel incredibly small.
Why did we have to be the only ones in the elevator?
Did the Lord really despise me that much?
Straightening myself up I look ahead, refusing to look at the man beside me.
"Nora Davis"
I whip my head so fast towards him that I'm sure I'll be getting whiplash soon.
"Twenty four years old, born and raised in California. You have two siblings. One older brother and a younger sister. You graduated a couple of years ago and soon enough got a job at a company working as a secretary but somehow got fired which surprisingly isn't listed why. And now here you are, working for me and my company".
Staring at him in shock with my eyes bulging out of my head, I manage to sputter out a "are you stalking me?".
How the frick frack did he know so much?
A deep laugh emits from the person beside me which makes my face turn a light shade of red.
"I have better things to do with my time then to stalk you sweetheart".
Turning a deeper shade of red I ignore the man and as if my luck has turned for the better, the elevator halts to a stop and the doors slide open their and then.
Walking quickly out of the lift with my head held high I come to an abrupt stop as a hand softly wraps around my wrist, gently tugging on it and pulling me into a hard body as Alexander leans into me from behind.
"I'll see you around Nora" and with that he releases my hand and strides ahead of me across the lobby, leaving me to stand there in shock as I watch him leave the building without looking back.
Holy shit.
