We arrive at the court steps media everywhere waiting to ask questions to get that perfect photo. I did not expect this case to be so high profiled but, Josh is from a well-known family plus he is known for his shady business deals. Cole pulls me tight to him, snakes his arm around my waist, shielding me from the cameras. We enter the building meeting up with our lawyer seeing Josh all smug with his hand in his pockets.

Cole makes fists pulls on his hand to look at me he takes me in his embrace kissing me resting his chin on my head staring at his brother with hate. "I hate him for doing this". Push slightly away from him to see his face. "All he ever did is think of himself no one else. One day Pierce will see him for who he truly is evil thinking he can have whatever he wants. I tell him now he will not be taking my daughter". Cole spits with rage, his whole body tensed with hate.

"Cole, you need to keep your cool. Kenna, needs you to keep calm". He cups my cheeks, glances over at Josh, his eyes burning with hate when he looks down at me the hate is gone his lips descend to kiss me. Takes my hand we enter the courtroom following our team of lawyers to the desk, Cole and I sit holding hands waiting.

We could hear Josh making snide remarks trying to get under Cole's skin squeezing his hand he looked at me smiled. The judge enters the room we all stand to wait for him to sit before sitting. Josh's lawyer starts with his opening speech preaching that I am an unfit mother for allowing my daughter to live the way she does. Our lawyer stands to do his opening speech telling them how money is not everything a child needs, love and a mother. The judge looked over at us his eyes move over to where Josh is sitting. The lawyers carry on battling against each other not naming our daughter just merely calling her a child. It will all come out in the open all of it.

"Cole gave up his parental responsibilities". Josh shouts while his lawyer is talking.

"No, I did not. You tried to force me to sign that god damn piece of paper. I would not that is why we are here". Cole shouts back. I am trying to get him to sit the judge shakes his head.

"I will have order in my court". The judge shouts making Josh sit Cole sits shaking his head.

"He is going to try every tactic he can". He whispers to me. My eyes wonder looking over at Josh whispering to Pierce. Sit listening to the lawyers battle it out for quite some time before breaking to lunch. Stand with Cole he takes my hand we walk back out to the corridor our lawyers going to lunch. We grab something small not wanting to leave the court for fear the media would mob us. Josh is lapping it all up talking to the media feeding his ego. Sitting on the bench waiting Josh enters the building walks past us with a smirk. I stand he looks directly at me, Cole takes my hand, stands beside me.

"You will be eating your words. I will not let you win". My harsh tone makes him lose his smile.

"That makes two of us. You think you are so smug doing this to me, putting Savannah through hell. You will not win Savannah is right". Put my arm around Cole Josh walks off not saying a word his whole attitude had changed. Cole turns his eyes looking into mine deeply. "I am ready if you are ready?". Smiling taking his hand.

"The same words you said five years ago". His face lights up we clasp hands follow our lawyers again, but we have smiles on our lips.

We sit listening again to the lawyers go on the judge looked over at us we smiled we did not stop smiling. Josh is getting irate with the lawyers battling it out. Mr Dudley starts talking. "My clients have a stable home for the child they are both the child's biological parents who share a mutual agreement. They both love the child in question". The other lawyer stands up starts talking.

"They might think they have a stable home but, the father does not live with them. They might even love the child but, the father gave the right up when the mother left after finding out she was expecting his child. Mr Cole Kennedy told the mother he wanted nothing to do with her or the baby". Cole is fuming so am I, with the bullshit they are coming up with.

"My clients have a sworn agreement that the courts signed a few years ago". We hear gasps Joshua looked over at us with a worried look he whispers to his lawyer.

"We have no knowledge of this sworn agreement so, how do we know they are not lying". His lawyer is trying every trick he can. Our lawyer hands the document to the court sheriff he passes it to the judge who reads it he glances over at us a few times he hands it to the sheriff who passes it to Josh's lawyers who read it then Josh snatches it his face changes shape he stares at Cole.

"Why would you do such a thing. Letting her take your child from you". He yells. That had done it standing looking over at Josh Cole shakes his head. Sitting back down wanting to say something to end all the fighting. The document is handed back to us. The judge addresses the lawyers telling them to get on with it. Josh whispers to his lawyer not looking happy at what he read.

Cole and I went to see a lawyer to put our conditions in black and white to protect each other. Cole felt the same way I did not want anyone to know who Kenna's father is. Telling him I did not want him for his money I would bring Kenna up solely on my own he could visit her whenever he wanted too but not to tell his family or any close friends.

He could go on living his life the way he wanted too. All he wanted to do is send money for her to make sure he supported her which he did putting the money away till she is old enough. He signed I signed the judge signed making it a legal document. We only did it for this reason but, we have more ammo that will blow this right out of court.

Finding the right time to just stand to tell the judge but, the shit will hit the fan when Josh reads the dates to prove I never trapped his brother like he keeps saying. Biding our time is making me nervous even Cole is fidgeting. Trying to refrain Cole from just ripping his brothers head off is hard, he is full of rage towards Joshua waiting his time to put his brother in his place.

The lawyers seem to be going back and forth not getting anywhere our lawyer sits leans over to us. "We have thrown everything we have at them. They just will not back down". We all look over to where Josh is sitting grinning whispering to Pierce who smirks too. Cole looks at me cups my cheeks.

"Savannah, I love you, I have always loved you. If we are to do this we have to be ready. Our daughter needs us she needs to know that her parents did not separate for all the wrong reasons but, to protect her from what is going to happen". He kisses me the judge coughs we smiled.

"Cole, I love you too. Our daughter is our family". He smiled stands the room went quiet I stood with him faced the judge who looks confused. "Your honour, may I approach the bench?". He nods Cole's hand slowly slips out of mine. Pick up the file step towards the bench Josh shakes his head glancing over my shoulder to see Cole smile it is time to let our secret out the bag. Cole stands.

"Your honour I would like to approach too?". The judge nods Cole steps towards the bench buttoning up his suit jacket. Josh stands looking around.

"Is this a tactic to delay the hearing". He shouts Cole and I glance over to him. The judge shoots him a look. Cole is stood with me, he takes the file, kisses my cheek.

"Savannah, this is what I need to do". Smiling I return to my seat. Cole is whispering to the judge he hands him the file, looking over at Josh he sits up staring at Cole. The judge glances at me shaking his head smiling he hands back the file Cole steps back to the desk.

"This case is about a little girl who is a descendant from the Kennedy family. Looking at the evidence from both sides seeing the evidence I have just glanced over. Understanding why the child's biological parents did what they did. Money does not always buy what is right or what you think is right. This child is three years old loved by both parents who just showed me how much. The parents have an agreement for a reason that is to protect the child from what is happening today my ruling for this case will take place after the parents have addressed the court". The judge nods at us Joshua looks shocked with what is going on. Standing with Cole by my side hands clasped looking over at Josh.

"We have protected Kenna Jade Kennedy from the family fear that one day this would happen. When Cole and I met in a cafe we would sit drinking coffee and talk. Three months later he asked me to dinner we had an amazing time the waitress placed the bill on the table I passed her my card paying for the meal which Cole was not happy. Two months later we had fallen in love we eloped got married". Talk about gasps Josh stands the judge tells him to sit. "We lived together for a whole year before falling pregnant with our daughter. Cole showed so much excitement that we were going to have a baby but fear took over us both his family would be furious just the same way Josh acted to his wife when she told him she was pregnant he made her get an abortion. Cole and I came up with a plan to protect Kenna we made up a story so, if anyone would ask we had the same story about him not wanting his daughter it did hurt him. The day Kenna arrived Cole stood by my side holding HIS BABY smiling. We carried on trying not to make it too obvious we made a choice to have less contact as possible. Fast forward three years here we are today. Josh wanted to take Kenna not knowing the full truth to why we done what we done the truth is Cole wanted to protect us from him hoping he would not pursue taking it this far. Cole is a loving father he is gentle Kenna knows who he is, asking him to stay which he did. We live as a family to protect our daughter to protect what we have so Joshua cannot take it from us like he did his wife. We married twelve months before I fell pregnant with Kenna all we want is to be is a family to be normal". Cole takes me in his arms hugging me tightly we smiled hoping we had won.

We looked at the judge who is still amazed with what is going on when his words echoed saying we had won my whole body lifted off the ground with a jump of joy. We are both happy with the outcome but, Josh looks upset not knowing what to say. Cole and I thanked our lawyers we get ready to leave the courtroom to face the media that mobbed us for questions we said nothing letting them get whatever they wanted from Josh all we wanted to do is get home to our daughter to tell her we are a family.
