^^A/N: Nyx holding a rabbit toy

"WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!?! GET HER!!!" cries out the announcer. Guards rush out from stage wielding swords.

The guards rush toward Venus, but she just extends her hand and a giant explosion erupts in the middle of the group of guards. Some of them are immediately engulfed in flames and die, others are blown back by the explosion and sustain major injuries.

The auctioneer tries to run off the stage, but Venus teleports behind him and grabs him by the back of his suit. She then explodes him as well and he dies in a ball of fire.

Screams erupt from the crowd, and the patrons run for the exits. Many of them, in their rush to escape shove others and even trample over some.

"Don't leave so soon! You're hurting my feelings!" Venus calls out to the crowd. Some of the people in the crowd look back at her in terror.

She then disappears from the stage, shocking the spectators. Suddenly, she teleports in front of one of the exits people are rushing out of.

The people in front of her scream and run back into the auction room. The fat man in the blue suit who tried to buy Eve before falls down and starts scrambling away from Venus.

"Please, please, I'll give you anything! ," he cries as Venus advances on him, "Money! I have money! Please I'll give you whatever you want."

"Anything?" Venus asks.

The man nods his head up and down vigorously, "Yes, anything!"

"How about your life?" says Venus. The man's eyes widen as Venus opens her mouth and flames erupt out as if she were a mighty dragon.

She goes back into the auction hall, but most of the patrons have already run away. Behind the stage, are several children chained up who were going to be sold before.

Venus frees the children, breaking their chains and the locks on their collars. The children rush towards the exit finally free. Venus goes back to the cells, freeing the remaining children.

After she frees the last child, she teleports outside the building to see if there are remaining patrons, only to see many of the children murdering them. However, the majority of them seem to have gotten away, their carriages long gone.

A white light emits from Venus, and she is replaced by Eve and Nyx.

I open my eyes only to realize I'm being held by Nyx, his face is inches away from mine. I look into his red eyes, which have hints of amber in them, making them look like glowing embers right before a fire starts. His messy, wavy black hair covers one of his eyes, and I almost go to brush it away.

Wait a minute, didn't this guy kiss me?!?! I quickly scuttle away from him, my cheeks burning.

"What just happened? You kissed me and then there was this bright light... and I or we became something else!" I ramble.

"Well, I didn't know how to save you, so I formed a demon contract with you," he replies.

"Demon contract? Does that mean I've sold my soul away to you for eternity or something?" I say.

"No, that would be a human and demon contract. This is one between demons," he tells me.

"But I am human," I reply.

"Well not exactly. You're half-vampire and apparently have enough demon in you to form a demon to demon contract," he says matter-of-factly.

"Okay, what is the demon to demon contract then?" I ask. It won't be something major right?

"It's an intertwining of souls for eternity," he responds. Eternity?!?!?

I chuckle awkwardly, "This sounds like we got married or something."

"Oh, this is much more serious than a mortal marriage," he says.

"More serious than marriage?" I squeak out. So, not only has he taken my first kiss, but now we're bound together for eternity in some kind of contract deeper than marriage!

"Yes, unlike a mortal marriage, a demon to demon contract cannot be broken, and it means our souls will be together even after death. Additionally, we can combine our energy and mana to form a single entity," he replies.

"About the single entity thingy, is that what happened to us before?" I question. I remember him kissing me, then it was as if I as an individual ceased to exist for a moment. It was indescribable. It was as though I were myself, but much more. I was filled with a confidence I've never felt before, as though I could be sure someone else was there supporting me unconditionally.

Even the decisions I made weren't made only by me, but as if automatically we made choices together. And I also had a strength I never experienced before both mentally and physically.

"Yeah, we turned into Venus which is the combination of the two of us," he pauses thinking, "I've never done that before. Demon to demon contracts are rare so I've only seen two demons combine like that once, never even imagining doing it myself."

"Why are they so rare? That was awesome! I don't see why more demons wouldn't do that," I exclaim.

His cheeks turned red, and I'm almost tempted to pinch them, "I thought it was great too," he replies. He pauses, thinking, "I think they are rare because you can only form one demon to demon contract ever, and the contract will only be as strong as your relationship to each other is. Typically only those who are deeply in love do it."

There's that lovey dovey stuff again. Doesn't he know if someone else heard this they could misunderstand him?

"Hey, but why did you have to kiss me?" I ask.

His face turns even redder, and he buries his face in his arms.

"Um... I don't know. I've only ever seen it with... kissing. So I kind of copied that," he says, "Um... I think it can be done without it, we just need to be feeling the same intense emotion for it to work and make some kind of physical contact with each other. That way Venus kind of knows what to do and we're more on sync."

I guess I can't be that mad, he did save my life after all. On that note, miraculously I'm completely healed from those blessed silver dagger wounds.

"I didn't say it before, but thank you for saving me. Somehow when we became Venus it healed me," I say.

"Well when we combine into a single entity, our energies and mana also combine, so when we uncombined, I just directed some more energy to you to," he explains.

"Really? Thank you so much! I thought I was for sure going to die!" I exclaim, hugging him. He flinches and yelps as if I stabbed him.

I pull back, "What's wrong?" I ask with a concern in my voice.

"It's nothing," he replies quickly hugging his arms close to himself, "It's just when I said I transferred energy to you... well, I also transferred your wounds to myself."

"What?" I exclaim. I pull his arms away from his body and lift up his shirt. My face pales. The blessed silver dagger wound is now on his stomach and back in the same places where I got stabbed. The lightning-like red streaks are also permeating out from the wounds. "Why would you do this!?!?"

"It was the only way to save master," he says quietly. Master?!?! No, we don't have time to address that right now!

"F*ck! You idiot!" I run my hand through my hair in frustration, "What are we going to do now?"

I look around and see a couple of abandoned carriages with horses attached to them. The owners to the carriages are probably dead. I lift up Nyx, careful to not touch his wounds, and walk toward one of the carriages.

If I could get him back to the Callisto estate, the doctor there could heal him. But it's a two day journey! I don't think he'll be able to make it! Maybe if we were to stop by an inn on the way I could try to heal him enough to make the whole journey back?

My doctor skills are pretty weak, but I've learned a thing or two about treating wounds during my training. However, I know wounds this severe and magical will need magic to heal them, which I don't have.

I walk up to one of the dead bodies of a patron, several of which are strewn across the field. I manage to find five gold coins and seven silver coins in his coat. That's definitely enough to stay at an inn.

I turn back to the carriages and free one of the horses. It's a majestic looking black horse with a white star on its forehead. I place Nyx on the horse, and jump up on it.

"Hold onto me," I tell him, and he wraps his arms around my waist. I hope he has enough strength not to fall off the horse, but he seems to be handling the wounds better than I was right now. "Do you think you can make it a day riding? We can stay at an inn if you need rest. It will take two days to get to my home, but once we're there you can get healed by a doctor."

"Yes, I can do it," he says. And with that, we ride off toward the Callisto dukedom.
