《Vegas Pete》Chapter 9

I walked around the room. Just now, I asked Nop who died in the major clan's household, but he didn't know anything about it. He said he was at home, but he wasn't the bodyguard that followed Vegas to work. So he didn't know much about the funeral. The main job given to him for now was to take care of me only. Now, I was left depressed with my various thoughts.
Was it P'Chan? It probably wasn't. He was still young and strong. Unlikely to
die. Maybe Aunt Prik, my favorite cook? Her curry paste was hard to find in Bangkok so she might still be alive. Or was it... Who?! Oh, I can't figure it out.
All I was sure of was that it definitely wasn't the young master, Boss Kinn, nor Boss Kim, otherwise both the major and minor clans would be in chaos now.
Oh! What if it was P'Jet? There was a big possibility since he was already sixty years old. Maybe it was age that got him. Khun must be sad about that. But I still wasn't sure.
I'm so sad. What am I going to do if it was one of the brothers and sisters
(colleagues) that I know? I want to pay respects to their funeral at least. Oh, why did I have to be stuck here with this chain?! Argh! I was getting impatient and Vegas was still not coming back!
As I waited anxiously for Vegas, I knelt on the bed in a pose of I do in temples and clasped my hands together. I prayed with mercy. (TN: The rest of this paragraph was supposed to be Pete praying, mentioning things that reference
Buddhism and praying for whoever that died. It was hard to translate so I just left this note, sorry ;-;)
Amen!
Screech~ I opened my eyes from my meditation and hurriedly raised my hand to say goodbye to Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha. As I bowed down to pay homage, I suddenly sensed the smell of Kra Por Pla Nam Dang (TN: The dish's literal translation is Braised Fish Maw with Red Gravy) wafting around the
room and hitting my nose. Well now, I was starting to get hungry. It was
obviously Vegas who came back with the food that I asked him to buy.
I turned to the door, about to call his name, but I suddenly paused and showed a surprised expression.
Vegas looked at me with the same surprised expression. My hands were still clasped together, my body slightly bended because I had just finished praying. I didn't answer his question and got out of bed before walking over to look at Vegas fully.
I tried to hold back my laughter and put my hand over my mouth. His shirt looked like it was spilled with something sticky.
I said when I saw his state. And I really couldn't help but laugh, damn! What even happened to him?
Vegas said in an angry tone while
frowning. I paused for a moment and started to regain my composure.
Speaking of the young master, I suddenly thought of the funeral.
I suddenly asked Vegas with a serious expression.
Vegas seemed to think for a moment before looking at me from head
to toe. He was silent for a moment and then pursed his lips to suppress his laughter.
I furrowed my brows and then thought of what Vegas was
thinking.
Vegas cursed softly and scratched his head in suspicion.
I heard him say the name of Chan and
my heart immediately sank. Chan was the one who taught me everything. It

was because of him why I could shoot guns and use knives. I was well-versed in the company's work because of him. He shouldn't be...
Vegas said, sighing. He took off his shirt and began taking off
the rest of his clothes until only his boxers were left.
Vegas grabbed his towel and slung it over his shoulder. Then he turned around and stared at me.
Vegas yelled.
I didn't know what he was talking about and I frowned deeper than before.
His wife? My heart felt like it skipped a beat and was going to collapse in a
weird way. But damn, what was he talking about? Huh, I had no idea. As soon as he told me that, he turned his back and walked into the bathroom, closing the door in front of me.
Bam! Bam! I knocked on the bathroom door for Vegas to come out and tell me more.
I exclaimed and I heard
the sound of Vegas turning on the water from the shower. I felt angrier that he still wouldn't tell me directly who died. So I kept calling out to him and knocking on the door. I completely forgot that he had the right to kick the door open and hit me with it.
Clack~ The sound of the bathroom door opening made me startled a bit. The bastard Vegas appeared all wet and unfathomable in my eyes. He opened the door wide open and walked back into the shower while washing his body. I was flustered and immediately turned my eyes to look the other way. This sassy bastard! Why the fuck was he taking a shower for other people to see?
Said Vegas before rubbing the soap on his body. He wasn't ashamed at all. He kept moving as if he wasn't embarrassed in any way. This idiot!
I lowered my voice that I had been
yelling for a while ago before turning my face to the side. I reached for the
bathroom doorknob and intended to close it as before.
I paused for a while as I swallowed the saliva down my throat. I
glanced at Vegas who was now beckoning me with his finger.
I retorted thoughtlessly and was about to close the door again.
I just stood still when Vegas shouted his voice at me.
Vegas raised an eyebrow, the corner of his mouth twitching into a faint smile.
I turned left and right to avoid
looking at him. I felt very embarrassed even though I had studied water and had showered with a lot of male friends.
Vegas argued. I immediately
groaned. Then he sighed heavily. I wanted to know, I really did. But I didn't want to go in there, it was too precarious.
Vegas turned to get the shampoo and spread it all over his head.
I stood with my arms crossed and stepped forward into the bathroom.
said Vegas in a husky voice, then turned to look straight at me
with his hands placed on his waist.
I stumbled a bit.
he began to yell louder and louder.
I said sarcastically. Little by little, I started to panic.
I felt a peculiarity. So I made a face to him and went to walk away.
I cursed, muttering to myself.
My footsteps immediately stopped. His eyes stared challengingly at me.
said Vegas in a threatening tone. But when I turned around, he had a happy smile on his face. Dammit! In the end, I had to surrender
myself to him. I couldn't help but stomp my feet towards him. I tried not to look at him and casted my gaze into the distance.

I huffed at him in disbelief. The water droplets from the shower splattered on my hair until it began to become damp little by little.
He grabbed my wrist and pulled me
towards him. I closed my eyes as the warm water hit my whole body.
Vegas didn't wait for me to react properly as he wrapped around my tightly and pushed my body back against the wall. He didn't speak loudly and instead let his movements talk, the tip of his nose repeatedly pressing into both of my cheeks.
I pushed his chest away. The bastard Vegas stared at me with hungry eyes. I looked down on myself desperately and felt my face, torso, and my pajamas all soaked.
Vegas said with a mischievous grin.
His gaze looked deeply into my eyes. The tip of our noses collided, our breaths warm and rich, mixing together between us.
I tried to wriggle from his embrace, but the bastard Vegas got me cornered in every way. He pressed his naked body against me. His weight pressed down on me so hard that I couldn't find a way out.
I turned my head left and right,
but Vegas followed my movements.
He drawled his voice hoarsely until I fixed my gaze on him again.
I wanted to know. I really did. But I was starting to get paranoid
because Vegas' thighs were rubbing my legs.
Vegas smirked. I tried to retreat until my body almost merged into the wall.
I pushed him away.
The bastard stubbornly pulled
away from my body.
His expression made it seem like he was looking at me as if he was superior than me. Then he stepped away and stood under the shower normally like before. But to imagine that the person who died must be important to Khun, then I really had to know this time. I couldn't help but want to know. My body moved faster than my brain.
I pulled Vegas' wrist, making him turn around as I took a deep breath,
gathering all the courage that I had. I held Vegas' face and leaned closer into a light kiss. I closed my eyes still, trying to push away all my other thoughts. But inside, my heart was beating almost uncontrollably. I didn't know how Vegas even reacted because I didn't dare to look. I could only feel the warmth of his breath and the softness of his lips which made my entire body tremble.
Before all thoughts and logic faded in my brain, I quickly pulled away from Vegas who was now staring at me, eyes barely blinking.
I turned my gaze the other way and lightly pulled away from his chest. But then Vegas grabbed both of my wrists and pulled them towards him.
Vegas furrowed his eyebrows slightly, but his lips were forming into a wide smile.
I said even though I knew I had no bargaining power.
But I'm not lying when I say that I felt the temperature of my face got higher
than usual. It suddenly became hot.
As soon as I set myself upright again, Vegas pulled my face in and crushed his lips on mine once more. The bastard Vegas gave me a second kiss. He went down to my lower lip and sucked on it softly until I finally parted my lips, letting his hot tongue penetrate into my mouth before flicking and probing all around the area.
I didn't know when my strength suddenly weaken. The bastard Vegas pulled both of my arms and wrapped them around his waist so I used it as an anchor.
To prevent my legs from slumping to the ground, Vegas' hand slid across my hips before moving to hold me up from my buttocks.
I accidentally responded, touching the heat on my lips. The bastard
Vegas sucked hard on my tongue and tried to push in, leaving me almost no
room left to protest.
I felt like I was starting to get upset now for letting him dominate the game.
Suddenly, the determination of a warrior flashed through my brain until I responded to every touch of his. Our tongues battled each other like each of us wanted to win. But I'm not giving up! Our lips were connected even more tightly than before. From the kiss where it was only him who was the attacker,
it turned into taking turns. We took turns invading each other non-stop.
I was confused at first. But when his hand slipped into my wet pants,
with our mouths still constantly attracted to each other, I started to come back to myself little by little. Wait a minute, asshole! What are you doing here?!
I widened my eyes, quickly pushing him away from me. Vegas looked
annoyed as I retracted my neck and looked down.
I pulled his hand from my ass and pushed it farther away.
Vegas smiled and softly licked his lips.
I was losing myself, you bastard! What are you doing here, Pete?!
Vegas looked at me. His sharp eyes stared at me as if meeting a fine victim.
I said the last sentence softly, but Vegas heard it too. He let out a laugh before leaning closer to my face, but I quickly avoided him.
Said Vegas slowly and clearly. I'm now so angry, you son of a bitch! I could see him clearly and got a little creeped out. This asshole! Do you think people like me will follow
you in everything? No way!
I walked away after thinking that if I stood still, I would just be an easy
target for Vegas. He was having fun getting on my nerves. As I walked towards the door, the sound of Vegas' laughter rang out.
I turned around and glared at Vegas angrily.
Even though my mouth said no, my heart wanted to know anyway. I at least wasted that much, shouldn't I get something in return?
Vegas turned on the shower to wash himself again. So I stood still and waited for him to speak. His cheerful face turned slightly more serious.
I turned around to look at the door. I didn't dare to look back at him.
Vegas' tone turned darker.
I shifted my mood into stressful mode. Hearing the way Vegas was speaking, it seemed troubling.
Vegas said, lowering his voice as if he was talking to himself. I turned to look at him with my brows raised.
I asked him, puzzled.
Why was Vegas pulling on my emotions? Now I felt a little worse.
said Vegas calmly. Then he picked
up the checked towel and wrapped it around his waist.
I dared to stare at him even more clearly because it wasn't the first
time.
Did he go to the funeral without seeing the person's picture? Or even
their name?
Vegas walked over to the sink
and grabbed his toothbrush to brush his teeth with. He made everything look so chill and didn't seem interested in talking to me that much. He probably didn't really know that person.
Phong, right? I didn't know anyone else in the house who had the name Phong, except for me, since my real name is Phongsakorn Saengtham. Was there any other Phong? I stood scratching my head and thinking hard.
I widened my eyes when I
remembered which one of the major clan's members had the name Phong.
Vegas squeezed out a foam facial wash and lathered it on his face
while looking at me periodically.
Vegas raised his eyebrow, looking
at me like I was a freak. I stood yelling at the bathroom door and kept thinking about Uncle Phong.
I kept talking and babbling.
Even though we were not very close, it was normal to be sad about people I've seen face to face and them passing away. But Khun cried until he had puffy eyes? And organized a big event? Why do that much? They weren't that close to each other.
Whenever Boss Tankhun visited the factory, he'd just do his business. When he was done with his work, he couldn't even remember the name of the staff there. But did Khun really cry? He must also have a very
fragile side now, right?
I asked, making a face of disbelief. If someone died and the family wasn't close to them, the main family would only be hosting one day. Sometimes, they'd even just send bodyguards to represent them. P'Chan himself hasn't been able to attend a subordinate's funeral yet.

School-life & Swordfights: A Clubs and Stubs Tale
Warning: Clubs and Stubs contains strong language and situations throughout that may not be suitable for younger readers. "This story takes place in a fantasy world with a modernish setting. It mainly follows four students of Hardires High School who are members of one of the greatest Team Arena Squads in the history of gladiatorial school athletics. Already two-time high-school world champions, they have entered their fourth and final year of high school in hopes of capturing a third straight world championship—something that no other school on the continent has accomplished. As they prepare for an upcoming match with a rival school, it becomes evident that keeping their two-and-a-half-year winning streak alive will be tougher than expected. As both personal and external problems abound for the student-gladiators, can they manage to keep it together under the constant pressure of being the perfect fighting unit? A blend of action, drama, adventure, and humor collide in this brand-new series!" Thanks so much for checking out my story! This is the first time that I've released any of my work to a public space so any feedback, be it positive or negative (but please be respectful if so) would be greatly appreciated. I'm hoping that this story is only the beginning of a long-running series of short stories set in the Clubs and Stubs universe. Temporary Book Cover Design by David Watson The release schedule is rather tentative, but the goal is to release a chapter every 2-4 days. I want to make sure that every scene is the best it can be before it’s released, so it may take a bit longer especially if it's a longer chapter. However, no chapter should take more than a week to be released. Each scene varies in length, but are usually between 1,000 to 2,000 words.
