《Vegas Pete》Chapter 2

-Pete-
After I slept for a full day, my body looked much more rejuvenated again. I had been given permission by Boss Kinn to rest.
And now, there was only one day left for my preparation in raiding the minor clan's house to find the evidence he wished for.
Khun said grumpily. He was
frowning with his neck erect and arms crossed. He was still very angry with me after yesterday when he tried to wake me up. I was half-asleep and I felt so drowsy, so I pushed him away. That resulted into this. I still remember the events of yesterday very well.
I immediately grabbed the pillow
to cover my ears. A repeated series of knocking on the door of my bedroom
slammed into my auditory nerves, making the blood vessels in my brain throb until I got a dull headache. Ouch! I think I'm going to sleep for a couple more days. Do I have to open my eyes to receive any kind of karma?
Khun's voice shouted through my bedroom door.
Eventually, I had to force myself to sit up. I shook my head with intense
frustration after getting disturbed during my bedtime. At this moment, sleep was the most important thing in my life. And I wouldn't let anyone take it away from me! So, I walked with my head shaking and violently yanked the door open.
Said the young master with
a wide smile, unaware of how grumpy I was.
I closed the door at Khun's face with full force. I didn't care how shocked he looked or if he were about to open his mouth and curse at me. But now, I didn't care anymore. I hurried back to lay down on my bed, grabbing some cotton wool to stuff my ears with and covered them.
A shout rang out for a moment before it went silent as I closed my eyes and lost my consciousness.
I shook Tankhun's arm who stared at me with an arrogant expression before forcefully pushing my hand away.
Tankhun got up from the sofa,
walking around me while looking at me from head to toe. His speech and tone were so dramatic, as if he were in a soap opera.
I sighed for the millionth time.
How long must my life be like this?
The figure in front of me gave a vengeful expression, clenching his fists. He gritted his teeth angrily.
I hurriedly interjected before my headache even worsened.
I was here to get some help from him so that I could easily enter Boss Vegas'
house tomorrow. But now, I've been sitting and negotiating with him for ten minutes and I found nothing entertaining. If I really wasn't going to be able to get anything from this, I'll go see Boss Kim and ask him for help instead.
Khun said angrily. I got up from the sofa and turned to talk to the figure in front of me who was still standing and glaring at me.
I explained my real reason.
I had to plan as carefully as possible to raid into Boss Vegas' house. I only
knew the outside of the house. I knew almost nothing about the inside. I used to go in when I followed Kinn, but it's been a year since then and this guy didn't seem to want to set foot in that house anymore. I'm not familiar with it at all.

His voice blundered as he looked at me in frustration.
I said.
Khun said, rolling his eyes.
I complained to the person in front of me for a long while. He probably wasn't surprised anymore since I always say this when asking Khun to do something for the company. But don't think it will affect his decisions, no way!
The person in front of me said with confidence.
I was now starting to feel discouraged and tired. Seriously, this was someone
who was not normal and was most likely the source of the whole family's
instability. This Tankhun! I'm tired already! Instead of being the eldest son and the proper successor, he kept acting like a very spoiled little brother.
Of course, I wasn't serious about what I said but I said it just in case the
person in front of me would fall into my trap and agree to going to the house.
I glanced at the young master with a small smile on my lips. When it comes to Khun, it's always Macau who'll get his attention. Not because of toxicity, but because of his desire to win one way or another.
Recently, the young master had a stomachache so he went to the hospital and he saw Boss Macau studying with a doctor. Seeing his sweet expression, anyone can tell how much Boss Macau adored that person. And believe it or not, in just one second, the people interested in that doctor doubled. Damn! I
feel bad for the doctor. He needs to hurry and make merit at nine temples to get rid of his unluckiness.
I pretended to head out of the room.
I smiled, satisfied that I had succeeded in tempting Boss Tankhun.
As soon as Khun accepted my request, he immediately rushed to Boss
Korn's office.
Boss Korn said looking so incredulous. Never in a thousand years must have he imagined his son asking him about work.
Khun asked.
Said Boss Korn in an incredibly happy tone.
Boss looked disinterested before picking up the folder and
immediately turned around and walked out of the room.
I raised my hands to pay respect to Boss Korn and immediately
followed after Boss Khun. Afterwards, Pol, Arm, P'Jet, and I walked straight to the car and headed to Boss Vegas' house.
Both Arm and Pol, who were sitting in the front and back seats, turned to
smile at Khun with delight. How long could this last? The work that Boss Kinn was doing should really be Khun's responsibility. But then, the sound of laughter resounded from his throat.
The young master seemed to have slipped into his own world. We all sighed in unison. They looked at each other with exhaustion. I better change the subject then.
I asked my best friend. Arm was good at things like technology. As for myself, I had zero knowledge about it whatsoever.
I told the bodyguards that tomorrow I had to sneak into the house and gather all the evidence for Boss Kinn. They wanted to come with me, but I knew that it'll be easier if I went alone. Besides, there'll be less room for mistakes and Boss Kinn didn't want anyone to interfere with this.

We arrived at Boss Vegas' house. As soon as I got out of the car, I immediately roamed my gaze around. I knew the outside of the house well because I've been looking at it for several days, but as I said, I didn't know much about the inside. Today, I had to follow Tankhun and collect data as quickly as possible.
Said Boss Kan, who was sipping coffee and was heading into the office. He turned to see the young man who fearlessly walked inside the house. The uncle almost spilled his coffee and jumped when he saw Tankhun enter.
The young man held out the folder.
I wasn't really listening. The eyes of Pol, Arm, and I periodically scanned at different corners at home. This house was not as big as the major clan's house, but it was quite luxurious. The number of bodyguards they had was comparatively lesser. Plus, the house looked quiet and not too busy.
My boss squinted his eyes and looked around the house.
As soon as Boss Kan finished speaking, Boss Khun immediately turned to look at me.
Boss Tankhun, he gritted his teeth and whispered furiously at me.
I quickly apologized.
Tankhun said, looking at me wide-eyed before turning to say goodbye to Boss Kan in a
normal voice.
I leaned back and whispered softly behind me.
Khun turned around to reply in a low voice.
Boss Kan asked with a confused expression, probably wondering what Boss Khun and I were talking about.
Khun quickly turned around and smiled, his voice turning normal
again when he talked to Boss Kan immediately. Suddenly, the young master's gaze caught sight of a large wall clock. He hurriedly put on a startled face and covered his mouth gently.
Said the young man as he turned,
walking towards the sofa and sat down again.
Kan looked at him in disbelief, but still called a maid to come over and give Khun a cup of tea. In reality, he never drank any kind of afternoon tea. What's next? He's gonna say he wakes up and eat breakfast here, too? This was crazy.
What kind of series was this?
Said the young master with an arrogant expression, pointing his finger as if this was his own home.
said the housemaid with a somber
expression.
Tankhun raised his voice, finally revealing the selfishness that I have encountered every day to the people of this house to see.
The uncle walked over and sat on the
other side.
Tankhun was playing the role of a spoiled young master. Well, he wasn't really acting because that really was his true self. I took that as an opportunity to constantly look around the house more properly.
Boss Tankhun's over acting helped in
drawing the attention of the whole house away from us.
Boss Kan turned to tell the housemaid with a pale face.
I listened and secretly laughed. The people here seemed to getting goosebumps in a row.
Eating organic only, how does Tankhun thinks of this stuff?
Arm and I looked at each other and shook our heads tiredly.
Even though Tankhun looks silly, I can tell you that this person is very cunning. It's just that he liked to use his intelligence in the wrong way.
I suddenly got what my boss was trying to do. With this, I would be able to determine the exact time to get in and out of the house.
Goddamn! Tankhun can be really a great leader if he just tried.
I leaned over to tell him.
Said the young master, raising his voice, knowing what my real intention was. He probably said that for his uncle, so that Kan wouldn't get too suspicious.
I walked out of the house and continued to plan my escape route. Arm headed out as well and sneaked in to find the domain, IP address, or whatever it was called. If he could successfully release a virus to get into the CCTV, then this job would be easier for me.
I spent quite a long time roaming around the house. I walked while smoking a cigarette, pretending to be interested in the plants around the house.
Fortunately, the system in here was not as strict as Boss Korn's house. There were less people and the bodyguards didn't seem to care much about their surroundings.
I walked through the garden below the balcony of Boss Vegas' bedroom on the second floor. From what I've observed for a long time, I learned which room belonged to Boss Vegas because he would always come out and smoke on the balcony at night. I didn't know why I suddenly felt woozy when I looked up at
the room. It was like there was something that made me feel weird. Was there a ghost in the room? I'm confused! Goosebumps. I didn't feel good about it.
Arm walked towards me, grumbling. I was much relived though because
it made it even easier for me to get in there.
I walked back into the house and saw Tankhun who was sitting and sipping
tea, chatting with Boss Kan with a serious look on his face. He glanced at me with a slightly contemptuous look before he smiled and bid his farewell to his uncle. As soon as we got in the car and was about to go home, I was
immediately scolded.
The sound of Khun's scream echoed inside the car.
I hurriedly used my composure. I spoke in a humble tone to the person in front of me that was now in a cold mood.
The young master kept yelling into my ears as if he wasn't sure that I could hear what he was babbling about.
Arm retorted.
We pursed our mouths to suppress our laughter which made him want for us to drink the same tea. He was going to make us suffer again. I really had a headache now.
When we arrived home, everyone dispersed to do their own duties. I retired back to my room and prepared for tomorrow's operation. The others, including Tankhun, went back to Boss Kinn's room and went to help organize the documents.

Author's note: I love the idea of kingdom-building novels and think the genre has a lot to offer, but I don't think many authors do them very well. Here is my attempt. The novel has a strong focus on politics and kingdom building, with occasional action and a bit of humor. Have fun. Cover was made by MrZombie Updates three times a week.
