《Not My Type | ✔️》Chapter 13

As I sat there, sobbing into Liam's big red hoodie, I realized something. Why am I wasting my tears on this? I used my sleeve to rub my nose when I said, "Screw Carter."

Liam looked shell-shocked. "What?"

I sat up this time, "I said, screw Carter." I smiled with a confident feeling, "Let's go out to a club. Right now! I'm done with this stupid heartbreak."

Liam shook his head a little, still shocked, "Wait, you're over him?"

"No... but I want to be. And the only way to help myself with that is a club." I replied.

"You don't drink."

"I'll start." I said.

"Good enough for me," he grabbed his keys and phone from next to him, "Let's do it." I squealed in excitement and wrapped my arms around him in thanks.

At the mall, the first place we went was the Nike store.

"Amber really interrupted?" Asked Liam who was leaning against the shelf.

"Yes," I repeated for the fifth time, holding up a pair of black and blue tennis shoes. "She did."

"That sucks...." he started, an idea obviously forming in his brain, "Let's get back at her!"

I scoffed, "How?"

He just stood there smiling like an idiot for a few seconds. I was totally confused until he said, "Sabotage."

"That's something mean girls do. Which I'm not."

"Are you? Are you really not?" He smirked, "What if I told you..." He now looked confused like I was. He hesitated a little before stuttering out, "W-we can come up with an idea later.. for now, are you in?"

I punched him in the stomach and laughed, "Heck yeah I'm in!" He coiled over from the pain but gave me a thumbs up.

"Are you sure this will work?" I questioned Liam's plans of sabotage, knowing he had no experience whatsoever.

The most experience he'd probably ever had was binge-watching mean girls on Netflix. But that's even a stretch. And we're talking about Liam here. Although I loved him, I wasn't sure I could put my trust in him.

"I'm sure." He reassured.

"Whatever..." I mumbled, putting the pair of Nikes back down "Let's her out of hear," I looked down to feel my eyes sting. "The heartbreak is flooding back in."

Liam paced over quickly and wrapped one arm around me. "It's okay. I'll go into the store and buy some pizza and ice cream, then I'll take us back to the dorm, okay?"

"Thank you." I sniffed out and nodded. I couldn't express how lucky I was to have a friend like Liam. He would drop everything for me, and I would do the same. Sometimes it felt like I didn't deserve him.

Once we'd gotten to the dorm, my phone began to ring. I looked down to read in illuminated letters: 'Mom 💜' . It'd been so long since I was home, I almost forgot about my family back there. My mom, dad, and 6-year-old baby sister Honey. Yeah, they named her Honey. Some people call it cheesy, they call it cute. "H-hello? Mom?"

"Darling, Olivia." She sounded relieved that I even picked up. "I thought you wouldn't answer," Yep, there it is. Then I remembered, before I left my parents and I had a huge fight. That's why we hadn't talked since I left for University. "We're sorry. I'm sorry. Honey misses you, so do we. Please... come home."

The mention of my little sisters name made my heart ache. I forced the words out, "I'm sorry too," I sobbed. Mostly because I was already emotional with Carter. "I love you, I love dad, I love honey. When can I come?"

"Can you be here by tomorrow? We already have an area set up in your sisters room for you to sleep in." She practically begged.

"Yes," I smiled, but quickly remembered Carter. What would he think? Soon enough, he'd find out I left, and come looking for me. "Wait.... yes. I'll come." I'd decided that I could use some family time - some mom time - after this whole heartache. I hung up without saying bye, and rushed to my room to start packing what I'd need for the span of a week.

Soon, Liam's shadow filled the absence next to me. I looked back to see him leaning against the door frame. "I'll drive you." He offered.

"Thank you." I smiled softly.

I needed to see her. I wanted to know what Amber told her. I was heartbroken and acting absolutely stupid. But that didn't stop me from rushing over to Liv's dorm.

I missed her. And I loved her.

Knocking on the door, I sighed. What happened to us? The door opened and I saw her best friend Liam glaring. "What do you want?" He scowled.

"To see Olivia. Please, let me talk with her. Everything's all screwed up." I whined, sounding like a two-year-old.

His face scrunched up. Reluctantly, he told me here whereabouts. "She's not here. Olivia went to her parents for a few nights. She'll be back next week."

"Why'd she leave?" My voice sounded broken. And it was. I needed to see Liv.

"Before college they had a big fight. Her parents missed her and blah blah blah there she is. See you never, jerk." He was just about to shut the door on me before I stopped it with my foot.

"Wait," I pleaded, "Where do her parents live?"

The gravel of the roads under me rumbled as I drove my way out of town. It was a difficult thing to admit, but, I needed her. I needed Olivia. It had been less than a week and I was broken into a million pieces. Before I started this journey, I called up Jake and Cole to tell them where I'd be.

They thought I was crazy - which I am.

Crazy for Olivia.
