《Not My Type | ✔️》Chapter 7

Just last night Carter kissed me on the cheek. I was so shocked, but at the same time I felt tingles in my arms and butterflies fluttering in my stomach. He opened my eyes to realize that Cole may not be the one I like anymore. After numerously reflecting on the moment, I received a text from Cole.

'Wanna hang out tonight? 😘' He text.

'Will Carter be there?' I replied, nervous for his response.

'Yes.' He finally text back, 'Will that be a problem?'

'Not at all!' I hit send and then got up to go to their place. I told Liam where I'd be going and we agreed that when I got back, we'd watch a movie.

I was there within minutes and when I arrived Cole was immediately there to answer the door. I entered into their dorm and started to stare at Carter. Cole started to glare at him as he got up to give me a friendly hug. Cole continued to glare but Carter brushed it off my rolling his eyes. I blushed a little because of the hug and as expected, Cole was still glaring.

"Calm down," Carter said while Cole continued glaring, "Olivia and I are good friends." His eyes waved over to me, causing my cheeks to flush. Remembering Carter's kiss almost gave my stomach a seizure. It was only on the cheek, so I'm making a friendly gesture into a big-for-nothing deal.

"Olivia?" Cole questioned, taking me out of my thoughts.

"It's alright Cole. We're... friends." I reassured him and he finally looked less tense. Carter flashed me a charming grin as all three of us sat on the couch to watch a movie.

We all eventually agreed on Passenger. A movie starring Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence. It's one of my favorites and seems to be the boys too. That, or they sure know how to act.

Half-way through, Carter paused the movie so he could go make popcorn.

"Isn't this something you do before a movie?" I teased, walking into the kitchen with him. Cole was still on the couch waiting for us.

"Not the way I do it," he laughed, "and when I say my way, I mean the way that starts with forgetting about popcorn." He chucked a bag into the microwave and clicked a few buttons. When it finally started, he leaned against the counter. I did the same.

"Can we please talk abut last night?" I randomly burst out and his eyes widen a little.

"Shhh..." he shushed me gently. "We can talk, but keep it to a whisper."

He slowly walked over, putting his index finger over my lips. I could've stayed like that forever but I needed to be serious. Giving into him won't make this any easier.

"First of all, why did you kiss me?" I whisper yelled, "Second of all, do you regret? Because you sure act like it!" His lips curved back into one of his cute smirks and he let out a small laugh while looking down shyly.

"One: I kissed you because I can." I rolled my eyes at him, "Two: I don't regret it in the slightest bit." His smirk faded into genuine smile.

"Oh come on!" I said punching his stomach, causing him to laugh, "Why would you kiss me?! I need real answers Carter."

He began to look a bit irritated and my suspicions were confirmed when he said, "Well maybe I just don't have all the answers." With that, he was out of the kitchen. Right then the microwave went off and caused me to flinch.

The movie had ended and Cole was driving me home. Carter passed on coming with us. Hmph, wonder why? Note the sarcasm. We pulled up to my house and I hopped out. I stuck my head through the window to say goodbye to Cole.

"Will we hang out again some time soon?" His eyebrows went up like he was hopeful and I gave him a half-smile.

"W-will Carter be there?" I asked.

He tilted his head to the side, "Probably. He's my dorm mate."

"Cool!" I said, my smile going wider, "I'll be there... again."

I walked into my dorm and saw Liam watching tv.

"HEY LIAM!" I shout, making him jump off of the couch. He finally realized it was me and walked over to give me a hug. I returned it while laughing at him.

"I'll admit," he drawled out, "You surprised me."

I rolled my eyes, "You're no fun. Anyway, what's for dinner?"

"I bought pizza. It's on the counter."

"Yummy! Thank you!"

We stayed up till about 11:30 watching movies and both of us ended up passing out on the couch.

It was the next morning and I was not at all wanting to get up. I look to my left to see Liam, still sprawled out sleeping so I squirm my way out of his arms to go get ready for class.

I put on a t-shirt that had black and white stripes, light blue denim shorts, and black running shoes. With one last look in the mirror I grabbed my keys and made my way to class.

Classes nearly flew by and it was lunch. I went to the food court and ordered a burger. While waiting, Carter came up to me and randomly said, "Let's hang out tonight."

"Aren't you 'upset' with me?"

"I was. But I couldn't stay mad at that face for long..." his words made me blush and he laughed a bit to himself.

"Sure...." I finally answered, "Hang out!" A smile formed quickly onto my face and Carter replied almost immediately.

"We're going out to the club. I'll pick you up. See you at seven~!" He walked off and I smiled to myself before proceeding to class.
