《Not My Type | ✔️》Chapter 6

As always, Monday returned and every student at BSU was dreading it.

I woke up and took a quick shower before throwing on a gray t-shirt, black skinny jeans and red Nike sneakers. After getting ready, I walked out of my dorm to see Jake standing there with an awkward-ish frown.

When he noticed me there he stood taller and asked, "Can I get a ride to class, please?"

"Why should I help you?" I teased. I could see his face flushing but he bit down in his lip before responding.

"I busted my truck's engine."

"Fine." I replied. "Get in the car."

His face brightened. He quickly ran down the stairs, and grabbed ahold of the door handle. I unlocked the car and he immediately hopped in. Once I got in the car I saw him staring out of the window. "When will your truck be repaired?"

"By the end of the day. The man at the auto place said it would be somewhere around 5:00." He said with his facial features falling. "Cole said he'd give me a ride there after his classes are all over."

"Okay." Is all my brain managed to respond with.

"Books will be taken up for review this Friday, so make sure all activities are completed before turning it in. We'll continue this tomorrow." The professor announced as everyone was packing up to leave. When everybody was out of the classroom, Olivia was the last to leave. I caught up with her in the hallway before she could make her way to the food court.

"Hey." I said.

"Carter, hey."

"Do you mind eating lunch with me?"

"What?" She asked, sounding a little surprised.

"Do you want to eat lunch with me?" I repeated myself, "I thought we should hang out more."

"I wouldn't mind lunch!" She smiled, causing me to smile with her. It was like every time she smiled it had a domino effect on me. I couldn't quite explain it because I've never really felt this way for someone. Especially someone I've known for only a few days.

I hooked arms with her, causing her to let out a small laugh and we were off to go eat lunch. When we got there she ordered pizza and I bought mozzarella sticks.

We talked and laughed together and got to know each other more. It was honestly pretty fun. We still had 20 minutes of the lunch hour left so we decided to step outside to get some fresh air.

"Remember the first day you got here, when you ran into me, you were like, completely speechless?" I asked, a crooked smile appearing on my face.

"Yes." She replied awkwardly.

"Did I make you nervous?"

"N-no." She stuttered while shaking her head quickly.

"Correction," I grinned, "Do I make you nervous?" I could see that she was blushing at my words and I had her right where I wanted her. Where she's sensitive, when she's vulnerable and I'm able to make my move. I moved in closer and gave her a quick peck on the cheek before walking off and leaving her to think.

I made my move.

Now all that's left is to sit back and hope she feels the same things for me.

I didn't want her to be left without a ride so I called Cole and told him that she needed a ride. He agreed to pick her up before picking up Jake.

Later that night when all of my classes were over, (I ditched classes I shared with Maria) I went back to my dorm and on the couch was Cole.

"Aren't you supposed to be picking Olivia up?" I questioned him before sitting down in the seat next to his.

He looked back at me, "I did that ages ago. I offered to bring her back here to hang out but she just refused to tonight. I wonder if I did something wrong."

"No," I replied awkwardly, "you didn't do anything. She's probably just tired." With that he was up again and heading to his room. Probably to go to bed. After watching an episode of my favorite show, Impractical Jokers I did the same and went to bed. Before going to sleep, I took a shower so I wouldn't need one in the morning. Then changed into something more comfortable before passing out in bed.

The next morning came and I sat at the kitchen table eating waffles. When I finished I took the plate to the sink and washed it up. Soon I heard someone behind me and I looked back to see Cole. He yawned before stepping forward and grabbing a granola bar.

"Olivia agreed to come over today." He finally said.

"Did she?" I asked, feeling a bit shocked that she'd be okay seeing me.

"Yep." He said casually, "I don't have any classes today and she said that she'll skip her maths class to see me for a little while. For some reason she asked if you'd be here. Are you guys friends now or something?"

"You could say that..." I replied in an awkward tone, remembering what I'd done last night.

"Well, are you?"

"Am I what?"

"Will you be here?" He repeated.

It would give us the chance to talk...

"I'll be here."

*************

A couple of hours later we heard a knock. Cole got up and in only a few moments, Olivia was inside and already staring me down. Cole seemed to have noticed because he began to glare in my direction.

I obviously couldn't help it, but I stood up and gave her a friendly hug. I added a charming smile that caused her to blush. Cole pulled her closer to him in a protective manner and I just rolled my eyes.

They're not even dating.

Sometimes he gets so jealous and it's even annoying. But to be honest, I can get jealous too. And I've made a single move. Nothing more than that. I have to know she feels the same way for me as I do for her. I never thought I'd admit it but... I think I may be falling for Olivia.
